No musician will be ever be perfect just probably better then us. every pro players have some spots they aren’t fluid at. For example Steve Gadd’s technique is physically incorrect. He is moving his wrist joint(the back of his hands facing outward at a 80% angle) vertically. Naturally your wrist is design to move (palms DOWN) vertically not palms away. I’m not saying I’m better than Steve Gadd(which I’m not) but no one is perfect. NO ONE.

In the end I just got close and began to loosen up and feel the 'Swing'. I'm 60 so learning seems to take me longer. Played bass since I was 17 though. This was a fabulous find - thank you Sir.

Flat foot technique is standard in jazz. French grip on floor tom is not too odd as well. Not sure how you came to that assumption.
