I also feel that Maple32 is a bit rough around the edges (especially with its weapons and the Glutt species) but otherwise it feels like someone took FU and condensed it down into a much better mod which is pretty neat.
I will say, as of recently the Glutt have their own settlements now! I was listening to this video while playing Starbound and just so happened to run into one!
Thrashed planets aren't just an ocean with storms... Their entire underground is saturated with ocean, and there is a planet-wide ocean in the middle of all of it. You find a lot of unique houses and microdungeons in these glowing caves. Also, you CAN find ocean structures in subterranean oceans. I encountered a flooded Hylotl dungeon in the depths of an aeolian planet which had an underground oceans. It reached into the core layer of the world.
About the Betabound rant, I always felt like that mod was made for people that played Starbound in the alpha through beta releases, I don't think a new player will find an old legendary weapon that has no attack animations and just shoots some projectiles and lose their shit like someone who loved these weapons in beta (me) and can finally use them again without installing older versions.
Hey there! New to your videos, but enjoying them! Do you know if there's a resource about where to find the new planet types & what they're all called? Just installed the mod to my existing save and tried looking around but not seeing anything different than the base game.
Maple32 is one of those mods where if you install it then hop into an existing save, you'll need to travel pretty far from wherever you presently are in your universe to see any of the new planet types. There is a wiki for Maple32 which explains what stars each of the new planets orbit: maple32.miraheze.org/wiki/Planets (and I go in depth about all the new planet types starting at 5:16 in the video).
Very interesting! Yeah, Maple32, I feel, is more for exploration because the biomes are a very unique twist on the adventures you will have!

Thanks for this breakdown. Good to see someone making Starbound content still.
