Glad to see Starbound still has an active youtube community. Stopped playing Starbound in 2016 (1.0 haha) but looking to jump back in with mods. I was hoping the community wasn't completely dead, because this game meant a lot to me in my early teens and i'm gonna enjoy coming back.
i wish the game wasn't an abandoned disappointment by the devs, however the remaining community is a blessing to this game and whoever is a fan of it, mods really bring this game to life, i made the mistake to play Frakin Universe the first time i ever modded it, don't hate it but it was all i saw on the forums, but the community guided me to other mods that are also very good, so yeh very nive to see a still somewhat active community that is quite caring about the game and its fans.
Also!! The wooden cooking table is obtainable a tier earlier than the vanilla cooking table, but at the cost of only being able to make a limited amount of recipes. I think this is a good compromise that lets us keep the original cooking table without stealing the spotlight from its vanilla counterpart, along with allowing players to find the enhanced food system earlier (Betabound changes food rot times (so jams last longer than, say, seafood. In vanilla, everything (except 5 items... out of hundreds!) lasts for 3 hours). It also gives new effects to existing foods, introduces its own foods, and makes food stackable!)
I have a suggestion regarding the Wooden Cooking Table. Have its crafting menu dialog box name actually say "Wooden Cooking Table" instead of "Kitchen Counter". Maybe even make that dialog's main icon (not sure how else to say it) something different from the Kitchen Counter's chef hat. Seriously, I swore that both the Wooden Cooking Table and the Kitchen Counter were functionally identical because of that. =\ I mean, I guess the two function similarly regardless, but now you're making me wish I'd covered Betabound's food system in the video. =\
@@Sutekh94 Ohh, nice catch! Thanks! I've implemented it, though I might not be able to change the chefs hat because I'm not all that good with spriting
Just wanted to say good job on your videos!~ im just so happy theres still people around doing content on modded starbound I just got back into the game after a couple years break and theres so many awesome looking mods around im loving it!
Man, as someone who's been playing since fairly early on, there are some things that I just didn't realize were apparently changed until this video, like species-specific weapons or the random station quests. I may have to check it out, especially for the return of tentacle planets!
Some other stuff include: Plating foods---any food, including mod ones, with plates that act as storage. An item that removes your food's rot timer. Its own research system used to acquire missing blueprints. The wooden kitchen table can be combined with the vanilla one and a campfire to make a cooking table that can also handle campfire recipes. The Glitch staff's recipe is hilarious. "Your beamaxe. Hand it over." Peacekeeper shop sells mech components after a certain tier is reached. Just to name a few.
Yes! The upgraded cooking table also allows you to filter by status effects, so you can be like "Hey show me *only* foods that boost, say, attack or energy regeneration" Speaking of food, Betabound makes food stackable, changes their rarity (so more filling foods have higher rarities), and adds energy regeneration effects to foods made with coffee beans/bananas. It also adds new foods as well! Foods that give only bonus health or energy also give you an instant health/energy restoration effect, and changes the food rot times (so jams will last far longer than, say, seafood). You can craft plates at a furniture table! Betabound also adds procedurally generated furniture, and its unique weapons can be crafted after finding their blueprints (or looted from chests)
Imho, silver sokolova's the EnaiSiaion of the starbound modding scene, they created wonderful mods that everyone can get behind one way or another. I can see why people say betabound's a spite mod considering people like you stuekh liked the beta. I liked sb 1.+ regardless of its jank, same way i liked dnd 5e and pso2 ngs regardless of their own jank. Im honestly hesitant to add betabound into a non rp playthrough since for me i lean more on mods that add protectorate-related content (especially ones that are not grimderp or just dubiously evil...) or fun stuff like maple32 or feast of fire and smoke. That being said who knows if betabound's gonna add protectorate-related content (i honestly doubt it since the protectorate gets trashed by everyone on the community be it rp servers or those who played sb in the beta, it ended up alienating me who actually liked the protectorate.)
Sorry for my english.. Does this mod remove features? because i mean its great that it adds things from the beta, but does it remove features from the game or downgrade them?
Thank you so much for covering my mod!!! I love the video and I'm so glad you're enjoying the content!!

@@bobbob1876 Oh yeah, if you're Silver, tell them about how you were gonna include the inventory script as a not-ingredient.
This game looks amazing loved terraria cannot wait to try this !
You should try the carrot sword 2.2 with starextensions mod it has character tilt from its own tech and lively animations.

I am new to Starbound, what are the best mods you would recommend for me to start my adventure with?
Yo dude, cool vid but your vid start could be more precise. Anyways, like what ur doing, keep it up. Went ahead and liked as well ;)

Why would they? It adds content from beta.
Any chance you could cover Black Ice again? It got a huge update that renamed it to Kenopsea.
It's on my to-do list!
