Thank you for this! Very inspiring ^^ For the Advent Adventure blanket I think there's a slight miscalculation: 5g of DK is not 10g of fingering, it's also 5g of fingering :) If 5g of DK is 10 meters, 5g of fingering is 20 meters that can be held double to make 10 meters of DK :)
Made myself an advent out of leftover yarn. I then used the pattern Memories Keeper, loving it! I‘d like to do a sweater like this with leftover sock yarn
Hi Natalie, I have had a mini mania scarf on the needles since 2013. Yes, 12 years. I’m making a huge one and some of my scraps only went in one row. It’s pretty wide already but. I keep adding to it every time I have tiny leftovers to use up. It’s one of my favorite projects of all time and I might not ever actually finish it, but just keep adding to it for the rest of my life.
Great suggestions, Natalie. I am currently making the Granny Stripe Shawl by CrochetObjet on Ravelry. I am using all my leftover scraps and you could easily use your advent minis. It is very addictive and I am crocheting it up quickly because I am excited to incorporate the next color.
An 18 inch blanket is perfect for a blanket for an 18 inch doll like American Girl doll,Our generation and my life as so making a blanket with the arrow pattern would be so much fun to make.
I don't think you need to double the weight of yarn if using fingering instead of dk. 10g of dk is 20m. 10g of fingering weight is 40m. 40m of fingering held double makes 20m. Therefore you need the same weight whether you're using dk or fingering weight. I think that means you need less fingering yarn than you thought for the dk patterns and makes them more attainable, yay! Thanks for picking out some lovely patterns. Lots of inspiration!
Oh my gosh, yes! I didn't think of that thank you! I should have used yards/meters instead of grams. Just a caution with hand-dyed yarn, you might need slightly more grams of fingering weight (though not double as I said in the video!) as there isn't quite double the amount of yardage from DK to fingering weight.
What are you planning to make with your advent leftovers? Check out the pattern bundle here: www.ravelry.com/bundles/advent-leftovers-2

Yes, you're right! Thank you!! That's good news too as it will need even less yarn 🥳
Thank you Natalie. Such a lovely collection of scrap projects! Best wishes for 2025.
Thank you Natalie x I always love your videos with pattern ideas! I have always found inspiration for using scraps in your collections!

I also love the Starburst Cowl by Zeens and Rogers for scraps. It’s a crochet granny square cowl with a beautiful scrappy look.
So helpful! Thank you. Your bundles are always fantastic.

Ooh I love it! I just added it to the bundle. Thank you!
I made the End Times Cardigan. I’ll be posting a video about it soon and will tag you so you can see!
I came here to share your channel so Natalie would see it.
I was just thinking about you when I saw her mention the End Times cardigan!

Are the tiny socks a knit or crochet pattern? Cause they'd work for my American Girl dolls
They are knit!
Or maybe it’s meant as “beauty” beau-tie? 😄
