I have a large Arrow cutting table and I love it. Plenty of drawer space underneath and the sides fold down if you need a little extra space in your room. Company customer service is great
Such a lovely time. I enjoy your flosstube because of your calm and friendly tone. I can almost feel that I am seated across from you. I always stitch alone, so thinking I'm seated across from you in Cornwall is such a lovely idea.
I love the new red sampler! Thank you for such a wonderful video; I always enjoy listening to you. I appreciate that you offer pdf’s, so easy and convenient when you just have to get started on that newest, most beautiful sampler! 😊
Hi Nicola, I have used a Koala brand cutting table for over 20 years, meets all my quilting and crafting needs. The top has a cutting mat that covers the entire surface. They have drawers down the center and the sides fold down if you need to roll it out of the way. I've never moved mine! I think they are a high quality product. I also have their sewing machine cabinet. Looking forward to seeing you at the Attic Sampler Symposium in January.
"Lo hizo Luisa Fontecha de edad 9 años 1845" means "It was done by Luisa Fontecha aged 9 1845". No doubt this is a Spanish sampler, constructed in a book page style. Maybe from the Extremadura region. Thanks a lot, Nicola, wonderful video as usual. Edited: after a Google search, I found the surname Fontecha was originated in Nothern Spain, in Cantabria.
Thanks for sharing another interesting video. I don’t own a cutting table because my sewing room is too small but I did see a video recently on on the Hunters Design Studio, TH-cam channel titled, IKEA kitchen hacks for your sewing room. This lady suggests using two moveable kitchen islands because they are very high and can be joined along the short or long sides to make very different shaped cutting surfaces. They also have shelves and you can buy bar stool for sitting. I wish I had more space to accommodate them.
Always love all your talks. I'm a quilter, and I love my IKEA height adjustable table. It's available in manual adjust or electric. I also have a kitchen island from IKEA, which works equally well. With love from me in Sweden.
My favorite cutting table is an antique oak banker's table. I added wheels so it moves easier and it is the perfect height for cutting and pressing! (I also have an ironing surface that I can place on the top when needed). Thanks for the video! I hope you do a tour of your craft room when it is finished!
Good cutting tables are made by Arrow and Koala. But if you want an ultimate adjustable height cutting table, Martelli is your go to. Expensive, but flexible.
A delightful flosstube as usual. What a lovely way to start the day with my coffee -- beats reading the newspaper first thing in the morning by a long shot! I'll be one of the new stitchers at Sampler Symposium. This looked like a wonderful way to learn from many enthusiasts and industry professionals. I've never been to The Attic, and I'm looking forward to a wonderful weekend. Have a good week.
Such pretty samplers!! And you know I love those darling pin cushions!! Don’t forget about Agnes Husband as a “Christmas” sampler!! She’s so sweet! Have a great week, my friend! ❤️🪡❤️🐶❤️🚶♀️
I bought a lab table - one that would be in a chemistry lab - with a very, very strong stiff top to it, that won't sag when pressure is put on it. It has adjustable legs so that I could adjust it to exactly the height I wanted it to be. I don't remember the brand, but as I am in the US it might not be available specifically in the UK. Another lovely video - and I may have to stop resisting Oscar!!
Hi Nicola! I wondered if you have a video that shows how to put a sampler together if we want to stitch like a girl would have stitched one. How to pick motifs and such. I know it seems silly as you can put what you want but id like to know what options they picked for or why if you have any insights. Thank you!! Love your videos!!
“Lo hizo Luisa Fontecha de edad de 9 años 1846.” I don’t think it will be a Portuguese sampler but maybe !! I’m excited to know what you find out about it. I like the random international sampler. “Made by Luisa Fontecha at the age of 9 years - 1846”.
I am really looking forward to the next red box! Thank you for getting all of them together. The first two were amazing!

Maybe you can show us the unveiling of the sampler in the glass so we can see the process.

Absolutely love the new red sampler and your video is always a pleasure to watch!

Please will you show your wool appliqué piece.
It is packed away whilst my craft room is being remodelled. I will show it when everything is unpacked.
