Just got my first drone today at 64 years old here in UK, chose the mini SE. Great content learnt a lot just hovering around the garden. Looking forward to having the confidence to fly and get good footage to add to my motorbike traveling videos.
Thanks for the Great tips. The obvious ones to mention is picking the slow speed mode when practicing and the setting of the Return to Home feature when there are obstacles above the drone. My final is be ready to land before you get the low battery warning.
Ken, I try to always think of the drone movement as if I am in the drone when I am using the controls. I spent thousands of hours in helicopters and I am at ease thinking like this. When the drone is flying toward me and I am thinking that I am in it, it is second nature to move the drone's cyclic control to the drone's left to move to the left. The same thinking works for up an down except the stick on the controller doesn't work like a collective in a helicopter. I am working on a lever extension I can fasten to the stick on the controller that makes it similar to a collective in a helicopter. I'm adding a lever to the stick that is somewhat at a 90 degree angle to the rear of the stick. That way when my stick is lifted it acts like a collective and makes the drone rise. I'm still working on this solution, so it's not done yet. I'm still working on my feet. Rotating is an added problem because my controller didn't come with foot pedals and a tail rotor. Still I've solved the up an down "thinking". Everybody be well and stay safe out there (and have fun), bf
@@dosomestuff1949 Our mistake - it's not built natively into the app. But if you use Litchi (a separate app for $25), you're able to get Follow Me and a few other advanced modes
@@uavcoach oh ok, also I have another question, for some reason quickshotd don’t work for me. I’m able to open the quick shot menu and select a quick shot, but the green start button doesn’t pop up for me. And instead fhere’s just a normal record button
Would have been a better video if you actually demonstrated the tips instead of just talking about them as a topic with images in the background. The guy who did Top 15 Drone Training Exercises did an excellent job.
Goggles (FPV) and Sports Mode. Most DJI owners have never flown FPV. No inverted thinking needed when you're immersed FPV style in the goggles. This hybrid mode won't give the best results, IMO.

What app do you need in oder to use the follow me mode with the DJI mini se?
It's built into the DJI Fly app - make sure your firmware is up-to-date!
Sadly the Mini SE has no 'follow me' mode with the DJI Fly app......or at least it didn't.
@@uavcoach is it? I didn’t know the mini se had follow me?
