We have seven or so of these in a single rather small pot out in the garden below some larger trees. We perform a total of zero maintenance on these and they have continued to flower ever year, dropping their old stems and regenerating new ones perfectly every year. So, we are proof that you never need to do a single thing to maintain them.
When someone throws theirs out after easter, I take it & get a 2nd set of buds that bloom ... because I live where we get late springs & early winters - sometimes I'll plant it outside in the garden & it'll get buds for blooming in late fall I dig up the plant & pot it & enjoy the flowers when grow & bloom in late fall... I've ben doing that for years ... we also get a lot of snow & very cold weather so I'm afraid to leave it out in the garden - in case it completely dies & doesn't come back.
After Easter I planted them in the garden, I live in Canada where it reaches 15 below zero in winter. Can I store the bulb in winter and repot them for next spring.
Easter lilies are not accepted or known "around the world" as THE Easter flower. In Europe, what we North Americans call an Easter lily is a flower to show only at a funeral.
