Lol that’s why I love overland artists because there’s not enough content creators out there on TH-cam using their Jeep Compass for actual off-roading like us
@@NorthTexasDirt can't agree more. More power is needed for sure. But all n all its a rad jeep. I got the same one. With a 1.5 teraflex lift kit. And toyo open country at3. I love the jeep. Its actually good.
Wow! Must have been scary falling into that hole, good thing you had someone to pull you out. Broncos are awesome but the compass can really pull its own weight!
Yes it does. I pulled a jeep rubicon once for like 25 miles. We went offroading and went mudding, and his started to overheat, so we had to pulled it back home
I have an '04 Mercury Mountaineer, you gave me a good laugh 😅. It is TOO heavy, 2WD and even with new Firestone ATs it still spins its tires off road. My Cherokee Trailhawk and our "new" 2020 Compass Trailhawk just handle business as they should. Especially the Cherokee.
Compass is FWD when on the highway and above 30 degrees. When it’s under 30 it’s awd automatically, when the wipers are on , the car detects slip, hard turns , when one of the modes are activated, or when it’s in auto WITH the 4WD lock activated. Any other time when your just cruising on a summers day it’s a front wheel drive car. The modes will make the power distribution different.
Right It's never full front wheel drive. Auto is 2 or 4 (whatever it wants) then everything else is 4 with varying degrees of traction intelligence wizardry. Sand mud starts off 50/50. Snow is 60 front 40 rear and starts in 2nd gear. Your 4 low starts you in first , auto starts you in 2nd actually. Traction control you might as well call "throttle nanny" because that's basically what it is. BLD still works and stability control still works. To turn stability control off , long hold the traction control off button. That's about it. That's your Jeep! 4 low is 20:1. The new maxed out. Bronco (depends on what you get ) with the stick shift in the crawler gear goes all the way to 100:1.
Great video Just bought a 2020 Compass Trailhawk I wondering what tires are being used for this video? does anybody know make and size of tires he is running.
Yes it is 2WD. This is not a full demand all wheel drive , it’s a on demand. Meaning it’s FWD until it detects slip, then sends power. Only way it’s 4WD is in one of the modes , or in Auto with 4WD lock on .

Fun Episode! You're one of the few that is taking their Compass out and using it. Good content.

Trying to at least. Thank you!

Hello from Brazil, I like to see you doing adventures with the Compass. Do more episodes.
Thank you and I sure will!
I like the jeep compass trailhawk. It goes overlanding, off road and a good daily driver. Very capable jeep
It could use a little more power but at least it hasn't let me down yet.

Well done 👍🏻

Yeah. They should have named the Mountaineer and Explorer something different. haha

I figured that since my front tires wear down so much faster than my rear ones.

The system is pretty cool how it works. Yay for computers. Haha
Bronco performed really well in all obstacles, it’s very capable SUV .
indeed it is
Christin and Jake Hayhurst really need to attend an Off-Roadeo. It would make them more confident as to what that Wildtrack can do.
That would be awesome actually. I will suggest it to them.
