In the age of AI and constant technological development, I think its really important that we start discussing illustration fees and how to ethically earn what we deserve from early on in our career. Otherwise there is a huge chance we might get exploited (scammers are everywhere) and end up as the infamous "starving artist." I just wish that social media presence wasn't such a priority when it comes to increasing our reach. Kind of takes away from painting time when I'm worried about posting "content" and "followers" and "likes." Although I am not from Japan, this was a very insightful video, Naoki Sensei! Thank you for your hardwork as always.
I my experience social media is not mandatory, I work as a freelance illustrator fulltime, and barely use social media so I don't a have a following. What I did in the beginning was putting together a compelling portfolio and doing outreach to potential clients, then you start adding to your portfolio and building some reputation, and clients start coming to you as well

You have to know yourself, your market, your skill levels, abilities and most importantly, you gotta know if this carrear path as an illustrator is the life you want. For me it isn't. I love making art, and I do get commision requests, but I turn them all down, because I know I am not satisfied with my own skill level yet, and i would come to hate the things I love if it becomes my career. I am currently in aircraft mainteance, it pays well, and I can escape into it when I am stuck without artistic inspiration, the work is repetitive, but it sets my mind free to come up with new ideas. this means I'm ususally itching to create new art again by the time my shift is over. I know Naoki - Sensei has this fully commited approach to his career as an illustrator, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not the only way. You can also make art as a hobbie, or side hustle, then build up from there. lots of my favorite illustrators on twitter have background in trade skill labors, and they create amazing pieces when they apply thier professional knowlegedge into their art.

相場全くわからなかった若い時、こっちはこんなにもらえてありがたい〜と思ってたのに、終わった後に取引先に別件であった時こんなに安い値段でありがとうございます〜！！って言われたの衝撃だった。
グッズ買う時に推しのグッズって感じではあるんですが、プラスで好きな絵師様だった場合は普段買わないものも買ったりはしました！
なので付加価値ってのはだいぶ大きいと思います。
10年前、SEGAでLoV参加してたような人気作家に依時した際、60万払った。便宜的な内訳は、作業として30万、その方の人気に対して30万。
ただ、紹介者がいて「彼に依頼したいなら60万で発注してくれ」と提案されてのことなので、裏でその人にいくらか流れていた可能性については不明。
その紹介者自身に描いてもらう場合はもう少しお高い。ぶっちゃけその紹介者が提案する価格設定は高いと思っていたし、態度もデカい上に別件依頼中に逃げたりされて、ふざけんなよと思っていたけど、紹介された作業者はすごく人当たりよく人間の出来た人だったので、そちらには喜んでお支払いして依頼を継続した。
なおきさんの声は聞き取りやすいです。内容も分かり易く、面白い。
個人（VTuber用も）や小規模の店の提案だと、桁がかなり違う低料金が当たり前に求められてるので、それについての話も、さいとう先生から見て、どう思われるか知りたいですね。
相手の予算に気をつかって、そのまま低金額か、緊急で追加提案で頼まれてた分が無償になったりなどが多い可能性があるので、低額料金が常識と思う人も増えてるかもしれません💦
通常の大手企業の方の料金話は参考になりました！ありがとうございます😊🙏✨
