Yeah, super poor promotion from their company. Look at Wheein's flying success with the very first comeback under her new company. But I also think that we should re-define what underappreciation means. Popularity and views and sales nowadays are pretty much on the business side, it somehow distorts the meaning of how artists are appreciated. Put it simply, take the Korean music industry for example, almost the top nation-wide well-respected singers are not idols and therefore are not popular outside Korea, and then they are called 'underrated', while within their industry, real big figures might not even know the idols that are popular in international markets. So, yeah, I don't think MAMAMOO members are underrated or underappreciated. They are just in a different category, not to mention that stupid Rbw business CEO (they have 2 CEOs, one producing great music for the girls, and one sabotaging them in business).
Let us also not forget that we have different tastes. In KPop, I only like BTOB and Mamamoo. Both group exhibits vocal prowess and are popular in Korea rather than international. I cannot blame the company solely.
I don't think is poor promotion alone, it's just that RBW is still a small company compared to popular groups. People expect a lot from them, like JYP or SM budget but they aren't even bigger than CUBE. MMM is the most popular gg outside of the big three co. That does say something tho. I hope as RBW grows so does their promotion opportunities and knowledge.
