The spatial awareness of non-Europeans is a major concern in my profession as a truck driver that constantly reverses trucks and trailers onto docks at warehouses. An East Asian gentleman was nearly crushed by a truck reversing onto a trailer... the guy just walked behind the truck to remove something off the front of that trailer.
At a factory I used to deliver to, African factory workers would casually walk behind my reversing semi, even with reverse alarms blaring.
An African in South Australia was _unalived_ by a truck that was maneuvering... I wasn't surprised.

They did have a green light to cross, however the wailing sirens amplified by the echo from the high rise buildings in the area should have been a sign for them to stop
