The editor on this one was top notch. Give them a raise.
The freeze frame on the bear, so good.
Done
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming Was is a £0.01 raise? :O
@@joehemmann1156 "It was at this moment that he knew..."
YESSS
Whoever edited this is brilliant
This would be a great series, at least to complete the game into the next few eras
I vote to to give your editors a raise. Great comedic timing!
How can you say to give them a raise when you don’t know what they’re being paid
He NEVER misses the chance to insert a knob joke in his vid and that is what makes him an engineer 😂
He is engineering those jokes and where to put them
Only engineers can be so proficient in the knob jokes. And luckily, only males are engineers so we don't offend females with all the knob jokes.
@themontmaster it is. Just a joke though. When I was studying engineering, there were 30 guys and 2 girls.
Game looks great and the editing was phenomenal. Someone should get an extra serving of gruel for their efforts on this one.
Holy crap! 1:12 is a top tier RCE moment😂
This game looks alright, but this video is all about the editor's masterful work. Beautiful stuff
I like how the water wheel doesn't need water.
Fact: Stonehenge is older than the Great Pyramids of Giza, both of which were built when Mammoths were still roaming the Earth, though they were only in North America at the time.
Latest evidence is that the last (dwarf) mammoths in North America went extinct c. 3700 BCE, before Stonehenge, but there were still a few populations in northern Siberia until c. 2000 BCE.
Hey RCE. I'm new to the channel. If you haven't checked out Medieval Dynasty yet, you should. It's like being a civil engineer in the medieval era. Sadly, I don't think you can build bridges though (genuinely, I wish it was possible).
Also, maybe a game called Common'Hood. It's like being a homeless civil engineer who's squatting in an abandoned factory. You CAN build bridges in this one, and it's even one of the first main quests you get.
The editor deserves a raise. And then another one. Also the Stand Arrow.
1:13 and I'm already dying. This was a bold and dangerous decision since it has been so overplayed in the past, but I think the right choice.
Roundabout really does have the best bass line
I proceeded to laugh hysterically, slowly waking the napping baby in the next room, every time the unsuspecting engineer was ambushed.
the freeze-frames with Roundabout by Yes was perfect
2:31 🤣🤣 Matt being smooth with the ladies 😁
14:41 not as good as a Paddy
Oh my god, that musical cut with the bear and the woman just killed me
"What's that over there?" - This might just be the funniest editing job ever !!!
No offense to the developer (I do have massive respect for these solo devs creating games), but this really does look like a game that is 100 times more fun to watch people like Matt or maybe even Josh play than to actually play myself ;)
Multiplayer would be fun
This looks a lot like ark survival evolved.
The reason why it looks like a good game is because all the shitty parts aren't in the video which I'd say is about 99%
@@wolfy6815 honestly I think the dev ripped a bunch of assets from ARK and simplified some of the gameplay but the similarities are too great to just be a coincidence
@lstchance87 i wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Hell his game Karagon is more like Ark than this game where he's putting it off as Ark 2 lol
"What's that over there?"
- Famous last words
Holy shit the editing is so damn good
0:18 Nailed it. First try. 😂
"It was made by one guy!"
Me: [Observes NPCs]
...Ya don't say.
My engineer beaver came today. Now it protects my shelf of comics. And I like the Yes music to signify danger
Engineer society;
-Don't attack.
-Don't lure bears as a ‘prank’.
-Have fun.
.
@2:32 im so dead editor got us again 😂😂😂
1:18 I almost died over here 😂😂😂😭
This video was top tier! The editing **chefs kiss** 🤌🏻
Please play more of this game!
I remember hearing that North American aboriginals might have ended the mammoths sometime before colonial times... so wrong era but yeah homo sapien sapiens and mammoths were around at the same time.
i remember the last episode those t-rexes were absolute architects
Yay! you! made! another! video! about! this! game!
I want more of this game!! This is so cool!!
first episode of this game i watched on my last day of school. im watching this on my first day back. i waited my whole summer lol
Wait until Matt finds out mammoths and pyramids were around at the same time
I hope you let the editor out of the dungeon after this one! They went above and beyond!!
Colonial Era 1500-1800's, was the coldest snowiest time in the past 12,000 years. Suitable to be snowy.
Oh please make another video about this! I watch your videos and really like this game
the timing is always so perfect for lunch!!!
1:22 when mom come in my room before i start cleaning
Gotta love the YES song popping up all the time
I guess Matt forgot he was riding a dinosaur last time too 😅
I thought the title was "grand empires"
turns out it was in french
I really wanted this!
One of my fav games u played
laughed so hard on the bear edit HAHAHAHA
Need the next video of this game 👍🏼
Your editor deserves a raise.
Your comment was 19 minutes ago
Matt should be at home in the colonial era being a brit
1:10 😂
Loving this series, "Time Boosh!" 😊
the amount of times you said SALT has got me questioning my own vocabulary 🤯
😂😂😂😂😂
Matt, you should try to play Colony Survival, you are like the most suitable person for that game. Check it out!
Can't wait for more!
am I trippin' or at 0:21 there is a portal with the animation "stolen" from Borderland??
ok ok who was the editor that edited this video?? the various things are done very good 👏
(not that all the other editors aren't good eh y'all making a wonderful job by suppporting Matt in every adventure and game that he's doing!)
I love the concept of this game
We need an updated desk tour
If you're gonna do the "to be continued' joke you need to play the music pre-maturely and then do the freezeframe at the drop.
Glad to see this game again
That thumbnail is nice
GIVE THIS EDITOR A RAISE
i hope you continue this series thumbs up from me :)
Love your videos RCE!
10/10 would time travel again
The editing was so funny
I'm not sure anyone who's ever worked making steel has worried about being cold.
I love to be continued memes I just can't get enough of them so funny I love Jojo
RCE be like ooo what’s that and then an over sized bear from the ice age emerges
I want to make a survival crafting game although the time travel I was going to have was just moving through time naturally at an adjusted speed but what I dislike about crafting games it they'll be like okay you need leather in order to get leather you have to kill this specific animal and go through this specific process to turn that hide into leather and it's like there's more than 1 way to skin a cat. A good example of this is making string or rope. You can make string or rope from pretty much any long fibrous plant but in these sorts of games they usually say you have to find this specific plant to do it. I like realistic options and if I ever do get around to making the game I want that is what you will have.
What is that over there? ....It was me!! Bear! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda!
"I should have done this a long time ago"
Matt who time travelled to an era a long time ago... 😅
"I should have used this ages ago."
Matt, many ages ago.
the wolf model looks like the wolfs in conan exile Mmmmm strange
Lol and the dinos look straight outta ark...
great video editor did his job great
Was the editing good? Yes. Was the video good? Who knows. I had to stop to listen to Roundabout on repeat for the rest of the day.
Oh please make another one of these videos I really like it and want to play it but I don’t have a computer or steam deck
Oooh the village sim like medieval dynasty hope it comes to ps5!!!
I was initially interested in this game but after playing the pre-release you quickly realise that the "game" is an asset flip with rudimentary concepts slapped over the top. The gameplay loop when shown by a content creator looks reasonable, but when playing you notice the innumerable flaws, lack of care in attempting to polish any facet of the game (QoL), and overall shallow mechanics. It looks deep, but really isn't.
Even rudimentary gameplay mechanics suggested to the dev by players were met by, "Oh good idea, I will look into that", which is a good stance to have during development, but not within days/weeks of release.
The game is now out and I can only hope people don't waste their time and money on this cash grab. Look elsewhere.
I don't see this as a cash grab, it's a work of a teenager excited to make games. He probably put ridiculous price to pay for the assets. Idea for the game is really great but I hate that he's praised for buyed locations.
@@mrbigbrownbeaver
He released 2 games in 2022 and 2 games in 2023. All are asset flips with basic gameplay concepts, typically mixed reviews with the positive usually cutting him slack as, "Good concept", "Needs work but solo dev".
For the fact they oft appear to be little more than asset flips, with only a minimal level of care for what he releases, and for price he charges, he releases little more than cash grabs.
He has worked out that he can profit off the excuses other people give him for releasing sub standard products.
@@lordshaitan yeah, you're right. He literally made a post about his motivations on medium:
"My main goal with this project was to figure out how to get organic traffic on Steam, and although it failed to do that, I’m pretty certain on what went wrong and how I will be able to achieve it with my next game.
“I have to buy this game because I want to have this experience which I can’t get anywhere else!”
YOU HAVE TO PERFECT THIS. YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND MAKING PLAYERS THINK ABOUT YOUR STORE PAGE LIKE THIS IS CRUCIAL TO SUCCESS.
Looking at my previous games, and other games on Steam, this is the main reason for a game’s success (and obviously it has to be good and stuff).
Before this, I wasn’t sure if this was really needed (the viewer’s feeling that I quoted above) for decent sales, but now I realize it is very needed and the next time I start a game project, I will make sure to plan it in a way that will get that reaction from the user looking at my store page.
Now, what about marketing (I said I didn’t market the game outside of Steam other than giving keys with Keymailer)? Honestly I’m so fucking lazy with things I don’t like doing, so I’m not gonna do that even after a bad release. It’s not something I want to deal with. I know there is a fucking way to get Steam to give me organic traffic if I keep trying. So fuck you I will keep trying lol.
Here are some tips but first here is why you should listen to me:
- I probably made and released on Steam more games than you. And guess what, I learn from my mistakes.
- My previous Steam game - Norpon, sold $5000~ (before Steam fees) in the first week. I would call that a decent success for 2 months of work (specially when looking at the earnings from my other Steam games)."
RCE more like RCA , i haven't forgotten about your architect moments matt
A while ago i had thought of a game extremely similiar to this. What a coincidence!
i wish all the bits that are only there for the time rfts could be returned to and that you can build the same things in all eras so you could create a futuristic bse in dinosaur times and vice versa
Interesting...keep it up.
I wanna see more
Gotta love it!
Awesome episode, great editing
Do you feel at home now Matt? Maybe a little before your time, but at least your in your own neck of the woods now.
hey RCE could you play rimworld??? it's a colony survival game, i know you like colonial stuff, so i think it's perfect for you. even your fellow spiffing brit has played it, so give it a chance.
Rimworld would be awesome.
RCE+Rimworld would be such a great series. +1
1:11 good
You should absolutly try out ARK: Survival Evolved
Loved the jojo bit
Paddy the T-REX
Looking at the steam page is very telling for this game/dev. Apparently this game is like 90% just assets taken from the unity store. So Matt was gushing about it being a solo dev when looking a a big map when in reality the dev likey didn't even touch the map beyond downloading it off the marketplace.
Asset flip or not, there's content here and a very clear goal. Not to mention the fact that assets mean absolutely nothing if you can't actually code. Like, bro, C'mon.
TECHNOBLADE NEVER EVER DIES!
You can never escape the jojo reference 😂
You don't run from a bear. You have two legs, and it has much more muscle and 4 Paws.....it will outrun you with ease.
This seams to be strongly inspired by ARK
No, Matt. Mammoths weren't around during the colonial era. They lasted up to when the pyramids were being built. So thousands of years ago.
That’s the…far cry 5 map. 18:01
You should play Frostpunk
More please
I'm no historian, but I'm pretty sure there were no mammoths during the colonial era.
The mammoth in the colonial era, I wonder if that's teasing lore. Maybe the time device isn't creating time travel, but there are existing time currents that flow back and forth and it just lets you ride them. But they can also pick up other things...
That and cavemen in the dino era.
