Mine learned how to sit and go up and down the stairs. I just want to teach mine to stop biting me so hard and to pee where he’s supposed to 😭. He’s done it a few times but then he gets excited when he sees other people and he pees everywhere. He’s two months now. He also whines and barks at me when I don’t give him attention and I’m trying to sleep. Any tips? This is my first time having a dog and he is a jack Russell
@@jeffreyd.4878 from what I know, never let your dog use the stairs, since smaller dogs over time can develop hips and spine problem doing it. Also if they bark, just ignore them until they realise barking has no effect on you. As with the biting, learn them what the word "no" means, and introduce them to the toys that are meant for chewing
I had to put down my Jack Russell a few days ago. She was only 10. She lived through pancreatitis when she was 2, she lost an eye (glaucoma) when she was 9, and she ended up with chronic kidney disease and failure at the end. You would have never known by playing with her. Through all of Bella's ailments, she was a ball of energy and full of spunk until the end. Jack Russell's are awesome dogs. I've had two so far, plan on getting another Jack again one day. This puppy in the video looks a lot like my Bella. ❤ RIP Bella 🐶🐾

Exactly i have a jack russle and my family get angry and shout when she dosnt do what she is told straight away and there like "thats the only way to teach them" so i proved if you just put her back into her bed every time she runs around that she will understand and on the third time she listned to me.
I LOVE Jack Russell Terriers! I had one of the most adorable ones, but she passed away at 16 years old. I miss her very much. I would love to adopt a few when I'm ready and have time.
I have a 9 week old staffy boy who I've been training consistently. He can do sit on command, sit to be greeted by strangers or neighbours, down, sit and stay, recall, fetch and bring back. Hes really doing well really proud to see he behaves just like holly! 🙂

This shows how smart the JRT is. Acing the training at 9weeks old. Incredible and brilliant dogs. They deserve to be with smart owners who do their homework on dog training and put in the time and effort the breed deserves.
Had mine 7 years now, make sure you assert your dominance. But don’t forget this one thing, you don’t control him / her. It’s a mutual relationship. They are smart and won’t give up, definitely worth the work though. Good luck! 👍

I have a 13 week old and watching this I see her doing some of the bad stuff mine does which is the constant play biting and biting the clothes. To me those are the biggest ad habits to tackle early on. Your hands will take a real beating until it subsides. Attention span at that age is short but it’s so crucial to start training right away otherwise they’ll own you and be very insubordinate.

I'm getting a JR pup in 3 weeks as I lost my 14 year old Jack Russell Toto in August but it's been so long since he was a pup that I'm here to brush up my puppy skills and would surely appreciate some more tips and things. Losing my Jack Russell was just so heartbreaking and I kinda feel guilty for Toto who's buried outside but a jack Russell terrier is essential for my well-being in my life so appreciate your video. @@canadat4380 the price of puppies in New Zealand alone has escalated through the roof and in my opinion is now a lucrative business for some and has put companion puppies and dogs out of financial reach for people who need them in opinion. In 2005 my first Jack Russell Toto was 300 bucks a bargain cos he live till 14 but little buddy and 2019 was $850 :) I wonder if you could find any loving person within the community who could give you a lower price. @@canadat4380my dog died a month ago. I'm absolutely heartbroken but I am looking for a JRT puppy now. In the UK it's approximately £400-1000 for a non KC breeder and £1000-2000 for a KC breeder. The problem with the non KC breeders is that some of them aren't breeders at all, they are just a front for a puppy farm., as we recently discovered. It was very upsetting. I don't want a show dog but I want to support puppy farming even less so we're off to see a KC breeder tomorrow.

I’ve had two JRTs. They were absolutely the easiest to train and learned commands like SIT STAY in just minutes. On the other hand, chewing..everything..was an issue with our first. In speaking with a trainer, we were reminded of their pack mentality and were advised to get another one. Yes, we bought her her own dog..problem solved. One thing to note, since they are sight dogs and will chase anything, the command of LEAVE IT must be learned early on. They are so focused on the chase they will not recognize a car is coming. However, these little darlings make awesome agility dogs, and loved every minute!
