THE BEST VINYL SAMPLES FOR BEATS?? // Slowing things down on the MPC

- A ton of my recent beats on the MPC have been a lot slower than what I typically make. This is because I have been finding and using a lot more slow samples. I have enjoyed making these slow beats and wanted to share a few tips for optimizing these types of vinyl samples.
For this beat, I used the MPC ONE as the standalone tool to flip the samples, including drums and melodies. I'll also show you some sampling techniques that you can use to create your own beats, and breathe life into your music.
I hope you enjoy this workflow, and the sample based beat, and I hope the video provides some inspiration for your own production. I will be in the comments, so let me know what you want to see in a future video!

Thats great advice to put in 1 or 2 kicks on 16T . Im still a beginner so maybe its a common thing. Sure , when u make new jack swing u do all kicks on 16T , but this way i have not seen anybody on tutorials doing that , sounda great

Great beat! I would’ve did trap drums and cut the bass from the sample and used an 808.
Im waiting for you to do a video with the stems

Thank you, appreciate that!!
GB forever ❤
Agree man, the absolute king 👑
great video! but what song is that you sampled?
Hey, thanks for the video.
Quick question, I have the same t60 turntable, my sure needles I always used broke and I’m not sure a good modern day replacement for the cartridge itself or if I need a whole new head/shell. What did you use that’s compatible as I see it is definitely a different head then the old models came with. Thanks in advance.
Nice track and Great sample... But just for the record, this wasn't a slow beat because the "tapped in tempo" was 46... This was actually a 92 BPM constructed in slow motion...LOL .. Yeah, I would've just went into the warp screen and changed all the sample tempos to 92 and made a 4 - 8 bar sequence.. Great job regardless! #Salute
just curious but if you use a sample as a loop, why chop it up into pads as opposed to just using the whole sample on one pad to loop it?
Good question! There is really two reasons for me. The first is that it allows me to keep more control of the timing to ensure the beats are hitting on the exact BPM that I set. If a loops is longer I find it’s more likely to drift out of time. The other reason is it allows me to pull from any part of the sample. Otherwise it would have been tough to get the secondary chops as they were not straight loops. Appreciate you for watching!
This beat is so "gross" I think you might have just started the next pandemic
Incredible with kick drums, but the hat is not that my style, too tight, like a typical sample, the variation not enough being jazz is what you are working with.
But sampling is stealing other people's stuff and laziness, I rather my own thing even if am not the best guitar player, but feels fulfilling I truly created something.
That is how I feel with stem sampling that is around the corner with MPC Akai products.
But you are mad good though, but stop encouraging using other people's music for our own.
Pretty weird take bro. Hip hop was built on sampling and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it
☝🏻🤓 bro really said "sampling is stealing" in MPC and hiphop based channel 😭😭
