Reguarding the drain plug for petrol tank,I saw a video on TH-cam and same BMW,what they did was grind a groove in plug and use a screwdriver and it worked.🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧
It looks like your brand new second hand carb was rebuilt about 11 years ago by my estimate George lol. Your new daily then? The perks.. No Tax or MOT 👍
Don't kill yourself in that box. Want more videos. What about the PCV? Should not that be hooket up to manifold or carb? Could be wrong. A long time since I worked with such cars. Use 98 oktane, the system should not run on petrol mixed with metanol.
Yes you're right.. The hose was missing and the previous owner built an elaborate system to re-route it into the top of the air box but I have ordered a new hose today
I know it is exempt , but most put it through the examination for peace of mind . In view of this vehicles 30 yrs absence from the road , it is a cheap exam.
Great wrk reviving a truly beautiful beast the older the motor the better in most cases not all of course there is always exceptions to the rule also check your setting on youtube or see whats going on with them because its only showing 238 likes and that doesn't seem right at all I'm subbed to many car channels and there doesn't appear to be any reason that you don't have a much higher count seems really wierd if anything admitably the only major difference is that you work on your own so no banter but this wouldn't faze motor heads so still baffled have a good one really appreciate your content men like yourself especially your age are a dying breed not many left that can still work on a motor and actually bring it back from the dead most just replace parts until it works or send it to a garage glad to see some working at repairing things still
I sad before George,piston rings.This huge gray smoke coming from there,burning oil.Let you drive a bit on outside and see meybe it fits a little.this car is not a good choce for one man fix.Needs too much bodywork because of rust.Good video .see ya next.
The “smoke” isn’t actually smoke, more just condensation from sitting for so long. I know the cylinders aren’t great but in the time I’ve had it running, the oil level hasn’t gone down👍🏻
I like your content and what you do and always give thumbs up. But this BMW really doesn’t intrest me probably like others too I would of been much more intrested in a E30 M3 or something like that. Just this car don’t do it for me me personally I wouldn’t invest money into one of these E31
