As a Sylvaneth player I would make so many different choices and decisions. If I choose body guard her then I would go for the center turn one with alarielle on the front and back up cp for all out defense to follow this strategy but went her different was wasting the bodyguard. Choosing one wizard make casting woods and mobility very tough - no sure if the list is competitive after the balance update. I think missing a caster hero is key here. Missing completely the additional -1 rend cast on the woods which would make even bows into Slaanesh a tough unit. Alarielle has a good movement - I think it was wasted and she needs played on the edge to get more of her abilities into the game. But it was interesting to see how the playstile change by player and the impact on the game.
I agree with you ... and mostly ... never used any woods to get healed or repositioned... Never used "rite of life". Never used Belthanos rampage :'( Great battle report anyway :)
Really fun and interesting battle report. Have been thinking of trying Forbidden power with my Seraphon and maybe Idoneth too and having seen it in action is making me go for it.
Man Ive been wanting to start Hedonites as my first major AOS army and honestly this has helped to show me how many tools they have and how interactive they are in the game! Really interestdd to start experimenting myself! Do you think the HoS army rule for hedonites is more for the person playing them to try and control themselves and not give into the euphoria? I love that idea as a mindset to be like, "oooo I could do this and this and this! But I need to control myself, the fun has just begun" kinda deal
Every time I observe or play vs. Sylvaneth, they settup with the terrain an impassable terrain bottleneck in the center of the table and then cast trees and blocking terrain. The tables are primarily tournament play maps, This doesnt look like thats the case on this table, I never noticed that edge that Sylvanth had on those maps until I saw this game, with a more open center they couldnt control. Makes me think twice about "letting my opponent set up the table".
Good report. But how did Slaanesh get the battle tactic in round 2? Since the objective moved there in the start of turn 2, I'm guessing that Sylvaneth does not actually control it yet. Or am I misunderstanding the battle plan.
really curious about some of the early decissions and the reasoning behind them - like not charging Belthanos T2 enabled Slaanesh to get on the top right without having to move anyhting over - sure it's not guaranteed to lift them but not going for that seemed odd, as it could have forced slaanesh to open the castle more in order to keep scoring
Good catch on the rampage! Nick struggled a bit with getting the trees out there (and in the right spot), so he tended to play more passive so as to not lose her too early. Re-watching these videos also helps us see what we can do different for the next games!
Cool battlereport. Bethanos hasnt used his ability in the game? And also alarielle didnt bring any models back the whole time? Impact rampage only works vs Infanterie and on the charge. Belthanos didnt charge on turn 2 was a mistake i think. Overall really cool to see bridge etc. For list improvement i would take a branchwych instead of the second tree revants. So you can use artifact and hero trait. Also strike first combo on anti charge claives is a good combo and you have another wizards to try and get woods out of needed. Still really good battlereport.
Thanks for the comment! Next time we will make it more noticeable, but Alarielle brought back the tree revs and Belthanos with her ability. Sadly for Belthanos in turn 2, his base couldn’t fit to make the charge.
The initial AWW doesn't seem to be correctly deployed. It needs to be 3" from the objective (outside of the whole objective mat you have), not from the center of the objective as it seems you've placed it here.
Ooooh, and the same for the first cast of Treesong. Might be more, just started watching, but those placements aren't legal and at least the first Treesong one could probably change the game a bit.
Feeling like Alarielle and Bethanos together cost too much to be in the same list. You just don’t have enough stuff to score battle tactics when you use both.
Thanks for checking out the content! I’ve had some seriously difficult battles against lists with both already. They’re an amazing duo despite how many points they eat up, at least in my opinion!
You are not allowed to place the Awakened Wyldwood within 3" from an objective, so the home AW is placed incorrectly and the first AW from a Sylvaneth cast (3.37) was placed incorrect...
I thought this initially, then realised it wasn't active!! It's an interesting battle plenty for us, because it means we could place trees on top of objectives for later in the game! No idea if that is beneficial or not though haha
Excellent quality for a bat rep. Thanks very much!
You guys have quickly became my favorite battle report channel.
Great match, always love seeing hedonites!!
Love the aesthetic of the battlemap guys! Awesome! Great report as ever! Nice so see slaanesh in action🤘
Really like the format and nice to see Slaanesh in a bat rep. TY
Absolutely my favourite batrep format, good job guys!
This battleplan is hilarious. So funny to see two shooting units fighting it out in melee at the end because everyone is trying to get to the center
very nice format i love it more of that. thx

Yeah, it was hard to watch some of his movement choices.
I agree, a good format, but the sylvaneth pilot seemed a bit inexperienced. Taking first turn was also a very weird choice.

Yes, it tempts both players for sure!
Depravity !

In Sylv turn 2, Alarielle brought the tree revs back on top of the objective
@@ThresholdTactics of course! I somehow made it in my head so that HoS was going first in round 2. Thanks for explaining :-)
Any thoughts on the Hedonites list, some strange choices there? Keeper instead of contorted would be an option?
Well the Keeper is more than twice the points and would cost me some board presence. I personally really like the list like this.
Redeploy is a run so you can't redeploy into a counter charge.
Belthanos has an ability to run and charge. Also Slaanesh can also choose to give a units run and charge - both allowing the redeploy and charge
Just a heads up, Alarielle cant use her rampage on non infantry units.
really curious about some of the early decissions and the reasoning behind them - like not charging Belthanos T2 enabled Slaanesh to get on the top right without having to move anyhting over - sure it's not guaranteed to lift them but not going for that seemed odd, as it could have forced slaanesh to open the castle more in order to keep scoring
Sadly, with the redeploy Belthanos wasnt able to fit to get them. That was the plan though!
@@ThresholdTactics got it - thanks for the explanation - wasn't sure how big the gap was back there
Very passive use of Alarielle which was interesting, what was the driver for that ? Also, she can only do her Rampage into infantry (not the bridge :)
Good catch on the rampage! Nick struggled a bit with getting the trees out there (and in the right spot), so he tended to play more passive so as to not lose her too early. Re-watching these videos also helps us see what we can do different for the next games!

How did Sylvaneth get -1 on their unbind in turn 3? Is this a Slaanesh thing?
Fiends!
Pretty sure that the trees have to be set up at least 3 inches away from objectives. You can't put them on objectives.
You are correct, however those objectives are not there at the time of placement. They come later in the game

Reminder from the intro: the objectives are not actually there yet. We placed them for ease of play!

Indeed you are correct, but that objective does not exist until later in the game

@@ThresholdTacticsand this is why you listen and pay attention to the battle plan and setup
5 units just doesn't make an army. This would probably be a loss right from the start.
