    Wish they would tell us how these compared to other bikes not included in the test (Transition Spur, Revel Ranger, Kona Hei Hei, Specialized Epic Evo, Santa Cruz Blur Tr, etc). Obviously, they can’t review every bike made but it would be nice to know how these compare to some of the more well known/common bikes. And, they all have experience on these bikes.

    Out of all these bikes I'd pickup the...
    Rocky Mountain Element
    Agree with other posters that you need to compare this crop against models tested over the past couple of years. Come on PB, you can do it.

    Like several others, I really want to know how this group of bikes stacks up against the Specialized Epic EVO. That seems to be the one to beat. I'd also like to know how the new Factor Lando compares. That said, of the bikes in this test, the Ibis or the Allied would be my pick, by a large margin.

    BC40 vs Ibis Ripley? How’s that compare? I’ve had my Ripley since this gen came out and have just love it.

  • @The80shilling
    @The80shilling ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd choose the Exie; I just test rode one on my usual training loop of 19 miles and 1900 feet of climbing, and MAN is that thing a freaking rocket ship! I'm faster on the Exie than I am on my Trek Procaliber SL Hardtail, and the Trek weighs 19.7 lbs. with everything (bottle cage, Crank Bros Candy pedals.) The Exie has so much traction on the uphills, and for me coming from a hardtail, it's a luxury ride and fast on the downhills, it doesn't leave me feeling beat up like my hardtail. Gonna save my pennies for an Exie frame.

    • @The80shilling
      @The80shilling ปีที่แล้ว

      P.S. I did end up getting the Exie, and it's just astonishing, I'm completely blown away by how good it is.

    Would have loved to hear thoughts on how the BC40 stacked up against bikes from the last go-through. Is the Bc40 worth a $2-$3k premium over a similarly spec'd Epic Evo or Blur TR?

    • @MillerRL96
      @MillerRL96 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Have you looked at the lower builds on the BC40? The XT and upgrade the suspension through them for a little bit more seems like a dream build for right under 8k before taxes. I feel like at that price point the build is same as similar specced Blur and Epic but you are getting a beautiful made in USA frame.

    I have the exie so the exie for racing especially anywhere with a lot of elevation and probably the Allied for every else. Probably going to buy the allied and see how it stacks against my revel ranger.

      @sgtkurry 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidmaco1 I have the push coil on the ranger because they didn’t have the dps in stock. It climbs fine but the exie is just something else on the climbs.

    Which one would replace my 2021 Specialized Epic Evo? Also, the Scott Spark with the hidden shock is 🔥! Those are just options to the bikes here on test. Out of what's in front of me, probably the Exie or the Allied.

    • @MillerRL96
      @MillerRL96 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I sold the Scott spark after 2 months. I loved the look of the internal shock and it rode great but the cable mess through the headset and the headset was already pitting being open like that plus the cable rattle was atrocious. Could stand that bike.

      Should have been the Following, Spur, Ripley, Trail 429, Tallboy, RSD, etc.. for a "Downcountry" field test. This was stupid. Yes, the XC race bikes are nice but they are not in this "new" genre.

    Pinkbike have got so hung up on their own nomenclature that they don’t know what category of bike they are testing, or what they are designed for. The Lapierre and IBIS are obviously XC Marathon bikes. The Ibis gives you a clue in its name. The Evil Following is a short travel trail bike like the Ibis Ripley, Pivot Trail 429 and Yeti 120. Anyway, why not call it Big Country. You can cross a country on one and do big features on the way.

  • @yuriivorobei5901
    @yuriivorobei5901 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Each bike here shows it's own pedigree.
    BMC and Lapierre are obviously nothing else but just boosted versions of their XC race machines with quite progressive suspension and the geometry optimized more for pedal efficiency while accelerating than for descending.
    The Evil looks like giant in the lilliputian country. Joke. Evil and RSD, imho, are more short-travel but trail bikes, than DC ones.
    Ibis and Allies seem to be most balanced. No wonder, both of them are a new bikes with upgraded geometry in comparison to their predecessors.
    I would like to test both EXIE and BC40 if I need choose between them) But, anyway, if I chose BC40 for the XC race or marathon I would install remote shock/fork config to this bike.

      I have several generation Lapierre XR bikes. Current is previous gen bike. It is XCM bike. Rear suspension is never work like trail bike sus. It is working more like brain from specialized and what I like. XR sus is working only when there is significant hole pots and for small bumps is tyre pressure. I am from Europe. There is no such trails in my area like in video. I would compare my local country area to little more rough than unbound gravel roads. Neither Lapierre nor BMC are designed for such trails in my opinion.

  • @carmencarrasco4714

    The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.

      I agree , Most people think that investing in crypto is all about holding till it rises , with the recent crash in the market we should know that long term price predictions are very difficult to achieve . Trading with Mr PARKER made me realize that rather than gamble on long term investment and still losing to dips it's better to trade crypto on short and make profit . I trade under him .

      I have an E bike(YT Decoy). It's great, but they just don't bomb downhill as good as my Evil insurgent mx. Also, too heavy on turns and are way more harsh, probably due to the heavier weight. Also have a Marin San Quentin 3 hardtail and love it on flowy trails. E bikes are great especially if you're tight on time, but as fun as they are, they are not the nimblest(don't think that's even a word lol).
