It’s probably one of the bikes on this list.
Cross-country bikes are all about light weight, efficiency and speed. And pain caves, digging deep and lactic acid. Cross-country racers are made of tough stuff and with courses getting ever more technical, the bikes have had to add tech trail handling into the equation.
Cross-country bikes are more capable than ever, with slacker, longer geometry, dropper posts on many models and some even going up in travel to around 120mm.
The bikes in this list are hot property, winning world cups and impressing our notoriously thorough test team.

None.. Because the price points are stupidly ridiculous. The bikes are nowhere near the price tags slapped on them. It's all marketing and greed profits.
I have to say that the Mondraker looks like a really sweet bike though if I wanted an XC/downcountry bike I'd probably go for the local upstart detrail 115
I guess Pinarello’s marketing department decided that winning World Cup races would be enough marketing…

I am a keen bikepacker so integrated cable routing works well for me. Lightweight full suspension with room for luggage 👍
That is a fair consideration for the bike packing crowd. But then if you need to do maintenance on your bike on a solo adventure, it will be more hassle still...

I like Rocky Mountain, but out of these bikes, I'd go for the Trek. But I would like to get an aluminium frame, not carbon.
Can't do that with the SuperCaliber or Procaliber. Better go X Caliber.
Rocky Mountain make great bikes! As much as we looooove the Element, its more of a downcountry whip these days than a razor sharp XC weapon and the Vertex is no more 😟
New superior xf Team looks really nice and promising with Portugal made frame.

only the oiz is good, none of the other makes any sence , epic evo is so much better and lighter than all of them, bmc , santa cruz blur, bh lynx, canyon lux, even sparks so much better bikes than these
I think maybe people have lost sight of what a cross country bike is.
Not worth the price tags... All marketing and greed profits. You can buy a car with these prices. Absolutely ridiculous
You can buy a car, but a pro-level race car, which is what a lot of these bikes are. You're not buying a (competitive) privateer race car for the same as a bike 😉
