We have one cat. Got him when he was a kitten. He has never destroyed our house. He is actually well trained. Our youngest is allergic to cats, but not ours. Apparently you can build up a slow tolerance when they are kittens.

A good alternative is a Siamese cat. They are semi hypoallergenic. Most people allergic to cats do well with them because they shed very little. A friend of mine who is allergic just got one for her 4 year old daughter.

If you got a cat, to reduce allergens, wash the cat once a week. I worked with an allergist, which allowed me to have one. It’s a lot of work and if I had to do it again, I wouldn’t
I'm surprised that if Daisy is allergic to cats, she isn't also allergic to dogs. Everyone I know who has an allergy to one animal is typically allergic to all dogs and cats.

My guinea pig also ate his mate and their babies. I would never allow the kids to have guinea pigs or rabbits and they should not be mixed.

If Daisy is allergic to cats, it is probably the fur and dander. Hairless Sphinx cats are usually hypoallergenic.
