Original music by Dad.
Lovely pattern, lovely calming voice and clear explanation but please please please get rid of the annoying repetitive background music. Please. I will surely subscribe to your channel if you do.
I agree with you. The background music was too loud and irritating.
I just made this coaster and absolutely love the way it turned out, thank you for such a clear and easy to follow tutorial! I can’t wait to make more of these
Is there any way I could make a larger coaster in this pattern before ending it with the fourth round (Shells)? Love this pattern, but want to know if i can increase a few more rounds before ending it and if so how? Thank you for a great class
I'm so sorry Caylene, I called you Jane in my comment. Not sure what happened there, a Senior moment I think 😁
Thank you so much. I didn't think this was this much easier. It turned out to be easy because of your clear teaching. Thank you so much. Greetings from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 ❤️
This is the first crochet tutorial I’ve actually been able to follow! Thank you!
Wow I really appreciate this tutorial!! You are well spoken, quite calming in fact! All the important information without verbal noise. Your video is always in focus, I could see every single stitch! I’m excited to try this, thank you so much for such easy to follow directions! I just found your channel, and I can’t wait to see what else you have available. Please, keep up the great work!!!! ❤😊
Can you link the yarn I’m having trouble finding it.
Hello, I've been making these doily coasters and I'd like to make an actual doily to match the pattern. I wonder if you have one or if you could make a video of one to go with the coasters 😊
Omg, thank you so much for this!! This is the first thing I’ve successfully made after a couple practice squares and a totally butchered granny square, I didn’t think I could do it but it turned out great!
Helpp… why I can only have 16 double crochet in 1st round? 😭😭😭
I just made one of these coasters this morning! Your tutorial was easy to follow and I am happy I finally made something that looks like it is supposed to look 😂 thanks!
You teach in such an easy to follow way! This is the first thing I have ever made that came out exactly as it should!
pleeeease give me the written pattern i cannot hear anything you say because this computer's volume suuucks
the auto-generated subtitles aren't too bad, if that helps at all. you could also try earphones or headphones. good luck~*
Thank you so much for this tutorial! It was perfect for my leftover yarn from a past project, and was so easy to follow along :)
Hi I luv this pattern hw can I increase it to make it a bit bigger
Bigger hook and yarn can help
I love this pattern! Its so simple, and looks totally cute finished. Can't wait to use the coasters in my cabin!
Oh my goodness thank you so much! This is the first tutorial I was able to follow fully and my project turn out correctly! Amazing
This is so easy to follow! Can you please tell me how can I make this coaster a little bit bigger? what round should i repeat? thank you so much!
Do you think if I made enough I could connect to create a blanket or throw??
I might be super late to this video but this tutorial is just amazing!!! Finally a tutorial I understand 👍🏻 Believe it or not this is the first tutorial I could ever follow along without making any mistakes
Can’t wait to try this. It looks easy enough and your video is well done. Would be helpful is you could speak louder and please delete the background music. It’s unnecessary and makes it difficult to hear your instructions. Thank you
look at the description she said she was having technical issues with the microphone
Ah, finally a spoken doily tutorial! I will be trying this pattern out very soon, thank you!
This is how I learned to crochet 50 years ago, so pleased to see it again.Thankyou!!!
I am on a roll crocheting these adorable coasters. They will be Christmas gifts. Thank you.
Very beautiful 💕👍
I’m a beginner but this was super easy to follow and my coaster looks so cute! It’s my first ever finished crochet project! Thank u so much! :D
How can I make it bigger in size?
Thank you so much for this easy tutorial. Instructions and pace is great!
Thank you so much... My 1st design i made... Super pretty.. love design...
I just finished my coaster!! It turned out great, and I really believe it was due to your clear and precise instructions. Thank you!! I look forward to completing more projects from your videos🎉🎉 🎉🎉🎉🎉
it is simple, easy and well explained. I first time made crochet coaster. Paused video lot of time to learn and do it side by side but end result is great. thanks a lot. can you please make easy shawl videos please..
hey does this pattern have a specific name for it? :)
Thanks for sharing....it's very relaxing project. I'm wanting to get into intricate doilies and this is my starting point on that journey.
Really glad to hear that, and I hope you end up making lots of beautiful doilies😉
Hi Caylene! I want to thank you SO MUCH for your excellent tutorial on these pretty doilies! I've been crocheting over 40 years, and struggle to get good, easy patterns!
Yours is a First! Yaaaay! I just made your doily, and it came out flat and beautiful! All I gotta do now is press it gently, and voila!
Thank you from my heart! Please share more!!! Shalom! 💜🕊💜✡️✝️💜🕊💜
I am not good at crochet, have been trying different patterns. This one was step by step, and I finally succeeded! Beautiful! Thank you!
I just made this coaster! I am loving it. Thank you! ❤❤
Love this coaster! Simple and elegant. Thank you!
I made your doily and I loved it thank you very much
I just made this and it’s so pretty! You’re video was very informative & easy to follow along!
Just made 2, so pretty! The only thing is my shells are curling up so it doesn't lay flat..any thoughts on what I did wrong? Thank you! ❤
Several things can cause the edges of your work to curl up. You may have accidentally made too few stitches somewhere in the last round or the round before, so check your stitch count to make sure you have the correct number of stitches. Otherwise, your work curling up may be due to very tight tension, so it helps to loosen up your tension or use a slightly larger hook.
Also, to make your finished work lay flat and look much better, try blocking your work. Soak in water for about 15 to 20 minutes, gently squeeze out as much water as you can, then lay it flat on a flat surface (preferably a towel). Use your hands to smooth it out and shape it, then leave it to dry. If you have a pinnable surface, that’s even better - pinning it out along the edges helps to make it look even better😉
I loved this Journey 🎉😂❤ 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Thank You! I love my first one and plan to make a set for my boyfriend’s mother 🥳
This took me exactly forty minutes to make as a beginner! thank you for the tutorial
I can’t get crocheting 20 double stitches in the middle down. It looks like a bib blobby mess. I feel like I’m doing it right but the end result from the first part is definitely not the same.
It can take a little practice to fit 20 dc stitches into the little chain ring perfectly. What you can do is keep pushing the stitches back as you go, after every few stitches, to help make room for more stitches!
@@craftingwithcaylene thank you! I did end up finishing and it doesn’t look bad however somehow I ended up with 12 petals instead of 10. I’ll keep trying!
Brilliantly clear. Just completed my first doily. Bought a beginner book and couldn’t follow it. Thank you.
thank you for this easy to follow tutorial! i made one now in one sitting 😆 but is there any way to expand/adjust its size? the one i made is kinda small compared to yours, maybe it's because of the yarn i used 😭
Yay, so happy to know that you successfully made one! The resulting size of your work depends on your tension and the yarn that you used. To make it larger, you can try using a slightly larger hook. I used 3.5mm, so you can try 4.0mm or whichever size suits your yarn. Try playing around with different yarns and hook sizes😉
Lovely coaster and exactly what I was looking for. Great summer project to crochet.
It would be nice if she had more videos . I haven’t found another person that can give good instructions like Caylene does . Unfortunately only has very few demonstrations.
Hellooo! I started crocheting a few days ago and i was stuck in an endless cycle of starting projects, but always messing them up. Your video was the only one that actually helped me understand it and finish it ! Thank you
Hi, what is the diameter size of the finished product? Thank you!
Too good to make n excellently demonstrated
Love this, it's so beautiful and your tutorial is super easy to follow 😀👍can't wait to make a few of these
I just made my very first doily, thank you so much❤
First tutorial i followed after learning about the basics of crochetting and it came out surprisingly well ! Thank you so much !
your amazing thanks so much for this ,
Thank you for this! Not my first attempt to make a beginner crochet project following a TH-cam video but for sure the first one I felt really proud of and like I’m finally starting to get the hang of crocheting. Thank you for your slow, detailed patient walk through, it really clicked for me.
I LOVE THIS COSTER!! I've made 7 already, so easy to follow along thank you!
This is a great pattern and easy to follow. I loved the results. Would you be able to suggest how to make it larger so it could be used as a trivet?
I make it❤❤.tq for sharing .
I just made this and unfortunately I only had a 5mm hook so I had to make some alterations to it, but it still came out adorable! Will have to get a smaller hook and try it and see if it comes out more like yours:)
You are a great teacher! I made the flower in no time. I'm going to check out your other lessons. Thank you very much!
1:09 did you say "this will not count as a stitch" or "this will now count as a stitch"
will NOT count as a stitch! 😊
I can't hear all the directions over the music. It's an auditory thing for me.
same, nothing against her or her voice it’s the music. i just had to mute the phone and put on subtitles 😅
This is so nice! I can practice with this project 😊
I made this coaster twice, and I love the design. Thanks for sharing.
I just made my first ever crochet doily! I ended up with 11 shells but it's still beautiful and I love it. Thank you!! :)
I really struggle fitting the 20 dc in the ring, can I maybe chain 6 instead of 4?
This is by far the easiest to follow tutorial I have come across! I am just getting in to crochet and I made this for my very first project and it came out amazing. The explanations and careful showing of what to do are so helpful.
I’m actually getting frustrated after we make the circle 😭😭😭
Wow! I’ve never made anything more difficult than a blanket. This was awesome and easy, and turned out so cute! Thank you!!
You are so talented. Thank you for sharing ❤️
I enjoy making this thanks
I made this dolly and it is quick and easy. I made it while waiting for someone I’m the lobby. Love it.
I just finished the first coaster and love it. I am making 4 or 5 of them for a friend's birthday. Thanks so much for making it easy to understand.
Omgg this tutorial is soo helpful for a beginner like me!!! ❤❤❤ This is a really simple gift idea too
I love the design, only took me about 25-30 minutes, and turned out great!
Grateful to you for this tutorial ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Boa noite. Meu nome é Ana Lúcia. Sou do Brasil. Adorei esta receita que você gentilmente compartilhou. Estou iniciando no crochê e consegui fazer. Você ensina muito bem. Obrigado.🤩
Thank you, this is so pretty and your pace and tutorial is perfect. Thank you very much, going to make some as Christmas gifts.
Hi! Omg I love this tutorial so much. I'm using a little chunkier yarn and I wanted to extend it so it could fit under a fruit bowl. What row should I extend? Thank you!!
I'm a beginner, and I practiced crocheting all weekend, making this coaster over and over...
Thank you for this video. This was a great beginner project.

👏
This is hands down THE BEST WAY TO BEGIN A MAGIC RING OMGGGGG!!!! I have been crying bc the other ways that i start a magic ring would end up folding and was NOT flat ughh it annoyed me sm but THIS TUITORIAL IS AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH! I am a beginner and this was just so helpful and turned out exactly like yours!! 💕💕💕
I made one and came out perfectly. Thank you for the tutorial.
Ma'am thank you! This tutorial was very clear and easy to follow. I enjoyed the music as well- it made me feel like a little Victorian lady :) Keep on making these if you can and so desire :D
I unsuccessfully made my coaster three times. I need to pay closer attention to your instructions 😂🙈🤷🏻♀️. Tomorrow I will try again 😊
Question! Sometimes when I start a project I may not have the correct size yarn at the time, do you have any tips when sizing up or down how to know how many chains would work better? For example, when initially closing the ring, you did 20 counts. Could I do less rings with bigger yarn for it to still work? Loved your video it was super easy to follow along! Best one I’ve found so far ❤️
It came out perfect. Thank you for the well made video!!
Fantastic beginners tutorial, very clear and easy to follow. As a brit 🇬🇧 my only 'complaint' is that its in American terminology, but it's good for my brain... Apart from that, petfect!!
Thank you very much, it was very useful, but my question is how do I make the size larger? Should I repeat one of the rounds?
I have just made this coaster with the colour brown & peach..& it turns amazing.. really appreciate the way u elaborate & teach each & every step..so amazing.. Thank you😊
I love how detailed this tutorial is and easy to follow.. however i followed step by step no mistakes on the stitches and still cant get the shape 😢 i am using the right hook as shown but i couldnt find the yarn so im using a 100% cotton size 4 medium weight might this do the difference mine looks like a curled up flower cup ive broken it like 4x already and still get the same outcome at the end any recommendations? 😭
Excellent tutorial!! I’m a beginner and the first one I made turned out perfect thanks to your instructions!!!
To follow this pattern do I need to have the exact same supplies like the yarn and needle size? Just wondering because I’m new and wanted to follow along but mine isn’t coming out the same
I just made this and I absolutely love it I started crocheting this week and this was my first real project other than stitch samples. Thank you for the clear instructions and neat video!
i made it the first time perfectly but now everytime i do it at the stage shown at 5:41 i have 21 half double crochets but i followed it perfectly so im VERY confused and frustrated
Hi you really do a Beautiful job I really mean you really do a Beautiful job keep up the good work ok
At beginning of round 2 shouldn't you do 2 chains for a half double crochet and then another chain for the "chain 1"?
I used this flower pattern for the inside of a square for a blanket it looks amazing
