I spent 43 days camped on one of Alberta's rivers hunting and just messing around. It was the best 43 days in this 69 year old's life. As a Fijian boy growing up in the pilbara in the 90's when we had two channels to watch use to love watching these shows and jumping on the bike and going exploring around town Don't forget malcolm Douglas lads
So I finally learned why some places are safe to swim and its because the crocs can't get up the waterfalls. I see videos of folks swimming in some water holes and they say there aren't any crocs but no word on why there aren't any or how they know this. This guy finally explains it and it makes sense. Thank you for that.
I used to have a little round digital clock stuck in the top of my hard hat. I had a bunch of guys thinking I could tell the time by sticking a shovel upright in the dirt, then holding my hard hat up between me and the sun. Then one day my hard hat fell off and hit the floor 40 feet below and the little time piece popped out.
At 10:36 what brand of pocket knife is he using? To me it looks very much like a brand we had in the States called Old Timer. I have carried one for 50 years of my life.

Some lovely segues but the swim across the river made me nervous,I wouldn’t put it past some smart Alec Aussie to slip a croc or two there in the hope of giving someone a big surprise,what I did find intriguing was the fact that les bits his finger nails as I would if I found myself in the kimberleys.

I wonder if anyone has done a test on what the Bradshaws are painted with? Obviously it looks like a black material today and the paintings have probably been there a long time if the local black fellas don't know who did the painting's and who also say it has nothing to do with them. Maybe a chemical test could answer what the black paint is exactly and that may help narrow down the search to ownership. Although I agree with Les it looks African, I could also say it looks like it could be from Papua, or even the various islands between mainland Oz and Papua

I always liked Harry Butler he was my hero when I was 5yrs old. I remember hating and despising The Bush Tucker Man with a vengeance for replacing Harry Butler on tv.

When the Japanese landed in 1944, they came in a well armed craft disguised as a fishing boat. They were also in search of a refuelling point for submarines operating out of the 'secret' US submarine base in Fremantle. The Japanese knew these submarines had to be refuelling somewhere to make it all the way to Japan and back. Thankfully they didn’t find Exmouth where a barge a was moored off the coast for refuelling submarines during WWII. My father actually refuelled there twice in RN submarines in 1944.
Roughly 20 years ago, I had met a bunch of Americans who were so impressed by Steve Irwin and his show, and was astounded that no one here in Australia had heard of him, it was mostly, I think, we had grown up watching shows like the Bush Tucker Man, so a show like Mr Irwins, was hardly unique here.
It's now the general consensus that the Bradshaw Paintings (now known as the Gwion Gwion paintings) are actually of Indigenous Australian making as they share more similiarties with other art found particulary in Arhnem Land than anywhere else in the world. Apparently Walsh's assumption that they were considered "rubbish" is inaccurate.
