    I now have an updated version of this video that shows you how to setup pivots as well so you can create a continuous animation. The animation will continue from where the previous one stopped. Here you go th-cam.com/video/mHQ0dv4VLsY/w-d-xo.html

    Some mixamo animations start in the opposite direction or you want to make them start from where your character stopped previously . To fix that, you can create a "Pivot object" under the Animate tab and link it to the specific motion clip. By clicking in it and going to advanced> Pivot and dragging the Pivot there, you can adjust exactly where your next animation is going to start. Just a tip because I've struggled with this sooo much

    • @nicksushkevich
      @nicksushkevich 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      R19. No such thing as "Pivot Point" in Animation tab. Only Pivot Object, which has no Advanced setting.

    • @TravisDavids
      @TravisDavids  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which version of C4D are you using? I'm on R19 and don't see the Pivot Point option under the animate tab. I appreciate the tips and would like to try that as well, just can't find this option in R19.

    • @weezy4094
      @weezy4094 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah, actually "Pivot Object", I'm sorry. and you should access the advanced tab of your MOTION CLIP. There, you can do the linking.

      Wait.....whaaaaat :O I see that you're using a Kinect V2, i still have the V1? How are you using the kinect to record and capture your motion to transfer to C4D? Please share :)

    • @Yodi_Bear
      @Yodi_Bear 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Travis Davids I had an old Kinect v2 from a couple years ago, then just bought an adapter from amazon. Then I used Brekel to record various clips. Although I only have the free trial for Brekel which only allows you to record 4 seconds at a time. From Brekel the files save as fbx, so I merged that with my c4d file. I took the Brekel rig, and bound it to my character. Now I just retarget my characters rig to the various fbx files I recorded.

    Thank you travis. I have a problem with the T pose from mixamo, i follow all steps perfectly until 3:30 min. When I drag my second animation to the timeline, my Tpose isn't effective anymore. For example if I choose a Tpose duration of 10sec, I will see my avatar waiting unmoved 10 sec in the start position of the following animation, but not in a Tpose! I try with many others pose and only the Tpose creates this issue. Do you have an idea why ?

    hey man. very useful for me. thanks. i have 2 questions very kind of you if answer them:
    - wish you had a walking animation also so we can see how to extend the 2 second walk and also how to blend with other animations. u see these were all in same pose.
    - will this method satisfy most of my basic needs in C4d animations? cause there are lots of other ways to rig and animate and they are complicated like biped, spline and other options.

    Travis, Great tutorial. Some Mixamo animations have the figure in a different orientation. For example one figure laying on the ground then next animation similar position but 90 degrees to the other. How can you rotate the individual clips so that there is not a blend or jump to the new rotation. Thanks

    I hope it's not too late for questions! Is it possible to work with only the animated rigs without the skin? like I have one model rigged in Mixamo T pose and I have a bunch of constrained objects to some bones from that T pose, so my question is, do I have to do the same thing every time I bring in a new FBX to use as a motion clip? Great tutorial, I have learned a lot from this, thanks. I am having a major problem though and I can not find the solution anywhere. I have a character walking forward with a fbx file, and after that walk, I have another fbx file for a different type of walking, and I want them to link together.
    So far I can only find tutorials for linking fbx animations where the models start and end in the same place, without actually moving their global position. When I apply this technique to my animation, the first 'walk' fbx will work, but anything linked to it starts to play from the original point he started from. So he walks forward, then teleports back to point 0 to finish the last part of the animation.
    I know it's a longshot asking in comments, but it's driving me mad. Any ideas?

    Hey! Great tutorial. I have a question regarding combining Mixamo animations while also attaching objects to the character like a backpack or object in hand etc. The object seems to go all wonky and messes up once i turn the animation into a motion clip to combine the movements. Not sure what I'd have to do here to make the object continue on to the next movement.

    Hello Travis,
    Thx a lot for this helpful tutorial.
    I used it a lot without any problems by combining DIFFERENT animation but recently, I found an issue with my model. Do you have any idea where the problem could come from ?
    Here it is :
    I'm using SAME animation and loop it
    If I play it for any time without creating a pivot, my model stays ok ( but, obviously, it starts at the beginning place and doesn't create a loop )
    As soon as I create pivot ( even without moving it ), some points on my model changes ( in that case, mouth changes in a weird way ) ...I did it a lot of time without any problem... I don't understand what happens... Any idea ?
    Thx again

    what if you downalod the breakdance pack in mixamo, this method doesnt work as it gives you the t pose and the rest are just the skeletons with the animation, how do you then mind the skeletal animations or apply it to the tpose skin? if that makes sense, i want to use the breakdance pack.

    6:55 is it possibly because the rig/animated skeleton is displaced above the character mesh? That would definitely confuse another program. I think if you set the rigs that are floating above the body to be in the correct place you might be able to export the .fbx without baking. Maybe. Thanks mate! Great video and very helpful.

    However how would you deal with 2 characters with differents animations set ? It seems like C4D look at the animation tag as one unique tag and whenever you make changes, all the characters end up with the same animation. It's weird...

    • @clemzarbazard1200
      @clemzarbazard1200 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For anyone having this issue I found out why. If you have 2 different animations, but with the same name (like you did the tutorial on 2 differents rigs and then imported it to a same scene), C4D will automatically choose only one of them and apply everywhere. Naming the animation is important
