- In this video Tom and I go on a wild camping bivvy adventure to the beach, travelling on our trusty stead, a home-built tandem called Gloria. After a 35 mile ride through the Suffolk countryside, we arrive at the beautiful, windswept beach, cook steaks on the Firebox stove and settle down for the night in a bike supported tarp shelter. A stunning sunrise awakes us and we tuck in to a hearty fried breakfast before riding the 35 miles back home again.

We have to report this video for being TOO MUCH FUN!!! Teasing aside, all family members agreed we need a method to smash the LIKE button 100 times and make it count. Here on Luzon Philippines, no matter the direction you travel, you will soon find the ocean. If you get bored with Luzon coastline, we still have over 7000 other Islands to explore. Take your pick, some uninhabited pinpoints on the map or a larger landmass with airports and cities. Thank you, Tom and Simon, you inspire us to do more.

Let me say that I really appreciate the great deal of work that must've gone into setting up the camera for the "passing by" shots and then having to go back and retrieve the camera again. It makes for a very very nice video for us viewers. Must be loads of planning ahead though. That, or you have a whole of dispossable camera's 😀

Thank you Simon for getting me to rebuy cast iron fry pans. I had them but gave them away being so heavy when I moved. But once I cooked again with them; I can't believe I wasted money on those Teflon pans that you can't get too hot or they get ruined. A hot fry pan is the key to good cooking.

What a super bike! Nothing quite like getting out and adventuring together. You both enjoyed a unique time you will always remember. I’m old now and still look back fondly on the times I did things with my dad. The first time I went camping in a tent with my family my brother and I were dressed up in RAF pilots suits made all in ones ,padded to keep them warm at altitude. I was only about 8 and arms and legs were lost in the adult suit. I fell in love with outdoors,the smell of canvas in morning dew ,waking to the birds song and adults up making tea on a Primus stove
Thank you! You have some wonderful memories - in today’s hi tech camping age, kids are missing the feel of good old true camping! Ultralight siliconised nylon tents with air-beam poles you inflate from the car, in tent electrical supply for all the techno gadgets you can imagine, fridges, complete kitchen units - you name it! Love seeing you out with your Son, these times must be absolutely priceless to you both. The cinematography of the dawn was incredibly evocative - almost like "the morning after our escape from the apocalypse, we had a hot breakfast before moving on..." Only a few times in my life have I seen a dawn like that and never from a Beach, here in the west our sunsets can be pretty good though.

I've got an "Off Topic" comment for Woodworkers. If you look at the stumps that are shown in the morning I could see taking something like those "Drift wood" Stumps and Plant them Upside Down as the Focal Point of a Patio. Take a Laser Level and mark all of the Roots to trim them even to Support a Glass or Resin Free Form Clear Patio Table Top. This was an Idea that I could see during my First Cup of Coffee of the Day. I'm not usually to Creative with Natural Construction Materials and wanted to share before I completely Forgot the Idea.
