    the technology samsung uses on Samsung s24 ultra screen that make the screen anti-reflection is amazing. i'm going with this edge 4 instead of surface overpriced ones.

      You're not wrong but I think rebates and deals may favor the Surface devices in a few countries.

    Man you've been killing it on here Beau! Awesome work! Also wanted to let you know I really appreciate your thumbnails on your videos. You do a great job not cluttering them up, and showing contrast between the device, text, and yourself.

    I managed to stack some codes to get it for about £790 off and arrives on the 30th. Thanks for the great review. Only criticism for me is none upgradable storage but finally feel I have a choice between my M1 Pro MacBook and this if I need a windows laptop to run off battery and with low fan noise.

    Nice review! Might skip the Snapdragon X at this point, will wait until gen 3 (and will definitely wait for solid Linux support).

    Really good vid! Btw, don't let the estimated battery percentage in the settings fool you. Windows way overestimates the battery life because it assumes a minimal amount of usage. When you start opening apps and the number starts going down, it re-adjusts immediately. I got about 9-10 hours doing light to medium sized tasks and browsing the web

    Picked this up, waiting for the delivery and have been reading all the negative reviews mentioning the compatibility etc.. I am an "average person" / aspiring "content creator", I need a nice-looking thin laptop on Windows suitable for content creation, so thanks for reassuring me 😂🎉 great video btw!

    Aw man, I was hoping the 'review you need' would include some photo and/or video editing! Does look like a mean machine though, very tempting.

    It's nice, but since it's their first ARM based laptop, I'll wait for future releases after more updates and things are optimized for them (software, games etc)

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s certainly not a bad idea to wait if you are using very particular software that you need to be confident that it works and it’s not tested yet. I think for the average person who is just using the laptop as a daily driver it’s probably fine, however high-level professional should probably wait a generation as you say

    • @longdang2681
      @longdang2681 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TechGuyBeau The problem is that the marketing is confusing. The average person who just wants a daily driver can choose from a wide range of laptops, including those that are much cheaper. Power users who can justify spending on a 12 core CPU should probably wait, (you said it yourself ArcGIS pro feels as fast as CPUs from a few years ago).
      So who is the target market for this ?

    I wish Qualcomm would have used SOC nomenclature that actually makes sense, rather than have 8 different Snapdragon X SOCs with greatly varying GPU capabilities. The X Plus models are much worse GPU-wise, with nearly half the performance.
    You really shouldn't get a Snapdragon equipped laptop for gaming. That's the reason they have a high return rate. People read they're fast and fail to look up the benchmarks. ARM laptops also can't currently run kernel level anti-cheat, etc. If you need a gaming laptop, you can get an RTX 4060 equipped laptop for 50% less than a top-end Snapdragon X Elite 84-100, and it will run games at twice the speed at the same detail levels. Give Qualcomm another generation to improve Adreno.

    barely 3 mins in and you are already contradicting yourself........."macbook like experience" then the next thing you say is we dont need to always compare laptops to one another.....but you just did??????

    • @eila2088
      @eila2088 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think he meant he wasn't comparing the samsung side by side like he will the lenovo as there isn't an identical Samsung with amd/intel inside.

    • @kingmaniactech
      @kingmaniactech 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Maybe he means physically comparable, not so much comparable by performance?

    • @MrMalam1234
      @MrMalam1234 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So what Karen??

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      That’s comparing a general experience: eg battery life being high, focusing on portability, app integration.
      You’ll notice in this video I didn’t bring in a second laptop whatsoever, and didn’t do benchmark to benchmarks. As I mentioned, the way laptops handle power delivery alone can make comparisons challenging.
      Hence why I also mentioned that I’m bringing in a yoga… which is the same chassis and OEM as the AMD and Intel yoga I have. So the comparison can be done properly on a like-like basis
      Often comparing two wildly different laptops can be wildly erroneous, or at minimum you are comparing two laptops with different target audiences

    Can you compare it with Macbook pro?

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      It’s not really a comparable laptop though. The operating systems are so wildly different.
      What you can get versus a MacBook is a great screen on both, great audio on both, and killer battery life.
      Beyond that you’d need to select the operating system that is best for you

    • @alisheikh1582
      @alisheikh1582 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TechGuyBeau totally comparable. Android and ios both are different but flagships are comparable. In the end apple silicon is the future. X86 will die soon.

      @alisheikh1582 you realize this machine isn't x86 right?

    • @alisheikh1582
      @alisheikh1582 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@scottdpeterstv Ofcourse they are trying to compete with Arm (Snapdragon Elite X), But the optimization level on MacOS and Apple silicon is totally on another level. Yet there is no Microsoft Silicon. Its hard to Optimize apps with third party CPU company. Let m4 out and you will see How the Apple Silicon will be the single core King and + Multi core King, At the sametime Low power consumption.

      It's a step in the right direction, but if I'm only spending a few more hundred bucks for something like a refurbished MacBook Pro with the M2 chip, I'm choosing the MacBook Pro hands down over the new Qualcomm PCs. Heck, I'd go for a MacBook Air from last year over this. None of the key apps I use work and the emulation notceably hampers the overall speed
