Wonderful video, Chris., and a lovely tribute to a fine historic company. It is still within living memory when every man - and most women - always wore a hat. Such are the trends of fashion. Well done for giving your beautiful hat a new lease of life - very satisfying. 👍After seeing this film, I have now put ownership of a bespoke hat on my `to do' list, although quite what it will be, I have no idea. I will watch your earlier video on hats again for inspiration.🤠
Very pleased you enjoyed the video John. I remember a lot of men in my childhood wearing hats, The hat looks great and I would recommend Lock & Co as a great place to visit and to discuss a new hat with. A hat is a great addition to a persons wardrobe. you might consider the St. James's black fedora, the Prague fedora or the Haydock trilby might be something to consider. Thank you for your great comments and continued support 🙂👍
Thanks Roland, I must say I've been very lucky with buying hats, recently, I have bought new hats, but the old second hand ones seem to be far better in construction and the quality of the felt is better. than cheaper yet new hats. Like you Roland, I have a few trilby's and fedora's. My Bowler (Coke) hat is by Christies, but having seen the bowler hats in Lock & Co's (the creator's of the Bowler (Coke)) I'm seriously thinking of having one bespoke made there, currently they cost £445. thanks for your comments, just out of interest what is your personal choice of hat colour you use most?
@@TheBritishDapper I wear dark brown hats in fall and winter and tan in spring. In summer a white Panama hat. The first hat I bought was a black one. And black is the colour I wear not that often the last years 🤠
@@robo2606 I get what you mean about black hats, I a black jazz style trilby (a upturned stingy brimmed fedora in truth) and a black bowler (coke) hat. I tend to wear more browns, olive or bronze trilby's and navy and grey fedoras in spring and autumn (fall) and a straw pork pie for fun or a straw tail up Panama it the summer. thanks for the feedback Roland🙂
Beautiful... to its former glory. I like to see people re-use / recycle things. A little (funny) question... How do you know they treated you like everyone else? Did you spy on them ? Just kidding. I understand, they treated you very well. Thanks for the video. Maybe one day I will do the same. I don't have a hat made by hand.
Great comments Samy, In answer to your question, other people came into the shop whilst I was there, who seemed to be of greater affluence than me, yet were treated no differently. Personally I don't have a hat that's handmade either, mine are all factory made, albeit at good factories 🙂 Hopefully you will in the future get to visit Lock and Co and if you do you should seriously consider a handmade one, as I am after my successful visit. 🙂👍
Hi there , yes I did and it was the best way to demonstrate the ribbon on the hat and talk about the purpose of my visit to London and the work that needed to be made. Accepted that ordinarily the hat should ideally be placed on its crown rather than its brim however this was not an occasion for this until off camera🙂 but your comment is well noted👍
We hope you enjoyed the video, if you do, please feel free to share with friends, family or people you feel might benefit from its content.🙂

I'd like to visit their store after the video you made, it was quite useful information about the service.
Glad it was helpful🙂
I’m glad you had a nice experience and wonderful trip
Thank you Frank 👍
Considering their reputation glad to know that they´ve got great customer service. Will try to pay thier store a visit next time in London.
They are well worth the visit👍🙂
A shame you had technical problems, I had been hoping for some more pictures of the shop.
Good looking hat. I own a trilby and a fedora from Christy's Hats London to name another British brand.

You're just on the train to go to London and you set the hat on it's Brim NOT on it's crown?
