- So last week, during EVO 2023, we got a detailed look at Nick All-Star Brawl 2's new & updated mechanics! As well as the reveal of Plankton joining the roster!
Today, I'm breaking down both videos in search of what's new, easter eggs, references & more! While also discussing the MASSIVE leak concerning the games base roster. So be aware of FULL SPOILERS toward the end!

Update: The pre-order bonus for the Elastic Waistband Patrick costume, was actually shown off on the official Nick Brawl 2's Twitter account. Roughly 3-hours before my video went live. I swear the timing sometimes! :/

Fun Fact: The command grab suplex Plankton uses is not a reference to SpongeBob, but rather characters Iron Tager and Potemkin from the fighting games Blazblue and Guilty Gear. It’s an iconic finisher move from them. Tager is even a cyborg so the Plankton mech using it is even funnier 😂
Now you got me curious. What's the story with El-Tigre getting in the game.
Basically, there was a supossed leak about a month before the games reveal. Someone made a very convincing El Tigre NASB model. So convincing that even the El Tigre creator thought it was real.
But it actually didn't start as a leak, until someone formed it into one. And was later proved to be fake, and that it was not the intention of the maker of the model.
In the show, Arnold is very pacifist and anti-fighting. So it makes sense that they wouldn't put Arnold in a fighting game.
Know what, that's actually the perfect reason! I haven't actually seen the show whatsoever, so I wouldn't have known.😅

They could very easily have it so his attacks are not him intending to attack the opponent like tom and jerry in multiversus
2:33 I'm positive this is just a case of them cutting in different footage of the move from a match that happened to be against Squidward, and in-game it will actually show the character you used the move against.
Kinda thought that could be the case. But also at the same time, why bother doing that?🤔
I don’t think the leak showed off every returning character, as it would be ridiculous not to bring everyone back. Hell, it would be even more ridiculous to cut Leo and Mikey and replace them with Ralph and Donnie
Returning characters for a season pass would be annoying. There’s zero reason to rebuy characters that have been represented, and wastes of slots.
It would be best if they just came out as free dlc alongside the paid dlc

@@alleycatgaming5433 Oh I see what you’re saying there. I give that more of a past since it was a next gen followup for those that maybe want to play those characters that either has moved on from previous entries, or don’t have access to the older entries. That’s a fair question.
I feel like Arnold may show up during Gerald’s special. Maybe Gerald’s special can have him and Arnold dribbling basketballs (and maybe even some other kids that were in the show such as Sid, Stinky, and Harold) and then throw them at the player. I feel like that would be the next best thing and it would still be in line with Arnold’s character as he was into sports in the show. If not basketball, they can also do baseball and football!
I think for the sequel I’m gonna get it for the switch this time since the the online is cheaper. on the first game my mains were Nigel Thornberry and Jenny so I’ll probably stick with those two of the changes are that much but another character I would like to main is el Tigre and the angry beavers
The worst part of the leak is that it came from an official source screwing up, not just a random 4chan user trying to mess with people, just like Toph being leaked before her announcement for the last game

You were correct about another Nickelodeon game being revealed at the showcase, but it wasn't from Purple Lamp Studios. Instead it was the official announcement of the TMNT Last Ronin game and the developers were revealed to be Black Forest Games, the awesome team behind the outstanding Destroy All Humans remakes!
Ngl, Powdered Toast Man was why I was so hyped for NASB, so him not to come back would honestly be really disappointing, especially when Ren and Stimpy are back.
He also appeared in Plankton's Revenge and Spongebob Heropants
I best of all hope for Mr. Blik, Gordon and Waffle as a playable trio in this game

There was a Plankton robot or mech suit in one of the tracks for Nickelodeon Kart Racers 1. I do think characters from the 1st game will return because it wouldn't make sense to make us pay for them through dlc. I could be wrong though. It's crazy how The Angry Beavers haven't been playable in any Nickelodeon crossover game since Nicktoons Racing. It took them literally two decades to appear in another one. I hope if we get a Nick Kart Racers 4 The Beavers and El Tigre show up. Hopefully Eliza does too. Idk why she was left out of Kart Racers 3. Let's also pray Timmy appears in this game and then shows up in Kart Racers 4 lol. Can't wait for the THQ Nordic showcase.
I don't think this is the full base roster. It's only one, maybe two, more than the first game including DLC and they keep saying that this roster will be "bigger and better". Unless they're being incredibly technical and literal about what is counted as that, I think there are more characters. They probably just didn't want to clutter the image by having all of them and prioritized newcomers over veterans.
As I said in the video, if this is the entire base roster. That's 26-27 characters, potentially at launch.
Compare that to the 1st game, in it's launch state. There was only 20-characters. Taking the number of free & paid DLC into account, that number goes up to 25-characters total.
Now taking the sequels Season Pass into account. That's 4-extra characters. Which takes Nick Brawl 2's total roster (provided the leaked art is actually the full base roster) up to 30-31 characters in total.
However, if the 11-characters that we could assume to be cut, are actually in at launch. That could take the number up to 41-42 characters. Which is a pretty decently sized roster, in either instance.
There is already evidence to prove that the box art is not the full roster. Powdered toast man is not on the box art. In the announcement trailer, they showed PTMs stage, and it would be weird to port from NASB 1 to 2 the stage but not the associated character.
@@protagonist9851 True, true. I had that thought run across my mind as well. So it's very possible characters like him, will be making a return.
