I mix everything because at 65 I still love most of the things I’ve thrifted and collected over the years. I mix rustic, southwest, Victorian, a touch of modern, . You name it, anything goes!! My home is relaxed and so comfy. Our main sofa is a large overstuffed down cushion love seat we bought in 1999. The fabric is like a dull velour in a dark mushroom color. Everything I pick up works so well with it. Time to do a bit of restuffing the cushions. I love your home and how you have my same attitude towards mixing it all up. Love your redo spirit from across the pond!!! ❤️

Love the use of rope etc. I’m doing a young boys room kinda safari theme and it will look fab to do the lamp like yours. Thank you for giving me so many inspirational ideas to make these apartments homey, so these folks feel welcome.
Another thing I love, about your ideas, is no need for a shade, because so many of the donated lamps don’t have shades.
We are! Upcycling lamps for the apartments would be ideal. I’m guessing you have someone checking all your donated electrical items just to be safe? I know my local charity shops do that xx

Yes I tend to paint or wrap the lamp holders and by adding a nice bulb it can make a real statement ❤️

Wow, this is one unique, one of a kind lamp ! Love the technique and wrapped cord. Love that you have such an eye for balance. The 3 new vessels on the other side are spot on. You really make me want to experiment. I am going to look for some interesting lamps at my thrift shop. The rub and buff turned out beautifully on the small antler lamp. I have always loved metal lamp shades. I did do a project I think is right up your alley with the Easyfil..... I first age terra cotta pots. Then I take a similar product and mix in a nice moss green paint. Then , I found a gorgeous plastic fern stencil. I tape it to the front of the aged pot and stipple on the Easyfil to make a raised fern on the front of the pot. It turns out so wonderful for the garden. I made a large and med pot. My girlfriend loved them so much, that I made her a set for her birthday. And filled them with new garden gloves, some seed packets, and vintage garden hand tools Makes a unique gift.

I had an obsession with vintage lamps in the 90s but down sized and got rid of most. Tomorrow I’m going to be brave and tear the material off the shade of one of them and wrap some faux wool on it. I wrapped all my light shades in the house in rope and raffia but I’m worried I’m going to regret tearing the shade to this lamp tomorrow. 😳🤔🤭🫣🫣🫣🫣
Deep breath and go for it! There are some amazing yarns about at the moment, lots of chunky wool and faux wool plus faux fur yarn!! Let me know how you get on😃

Well…it’s happened again😃 I’m out thrifting this morning. Struck up a conversation with the nicest lady. As soon as she started talking, I had to ask her where she’s from…..of course she said England. I told her that I follow an amazing lady on TH-cam who lives in Sussex. Can you use ground coffee or loose tea instead of dirt?
Absolutely! In fact anything powdery or granular would work to add texture. I’ve used cocoa powder before too 😃
You never had issues with the electric cord heating up when you wrap it? I love the look.
Never! The amount of power a lamp with an LED bulb uses is tiny! 😊
