I thought the same until I saw a blonde German woman dragging twice a female stop oil protester by the hair like a sack of potatoes, reminding me the countless times I've seen spoilt, privileged, deluded English women becoming violent, something I've always found extremely distasteful and unattractive.
These cultists should be fined with mandatory community work, as well any police superintendent allowing them to roam free, instead of using them as an excuse for our violent tendencies

Protest on the sidewalk,, not the middle of the road. I live in Alberta, Canada and know of many of the people that blocked the Coutts Border Crossing. They were constantly manipulating law enforcement, setting demands that were Mt then instead of leaving, raising the bar and asking for more!! They were enjoying the party that basically made many of the town residents feel trapped and those same people were terrified. The protesters became more & more bold and when advised they had been infiltrated by anarchists (for lack of a better term) who were planning & gathering arms to kill the police. This is all true & accurate. All the while the “protesters” kept raising their “demands! A protester doesn’t issue demands,,, a domestic terrorist does,,,. Ultimately the police took down the subjects planning the bloodbath and the other protesters realized how dangerous it was and subsequently shut down the blockade! Some are truly embarrassed they got caught up in the conspiracy theories that started the movement in the first place. It destroyed many friendships, even separated families due to how extreme the protesters had become. They would brainstorm and develop even more radical theories to somehow justify their illegal blockade.
The police here too messed up and could have stopped it before the protesters had all the trucks and agricultural equipment in place to make a sizeable blockade. They watched them set up. Once a subject starts to infringe on the right of others, break the law, even if it’s traffic obstruction, the police should be taking action immediately. Let the subjects speak about the protest, let those that protest legally do their thing, but any that break the laws are just criminals, minor or otherwise, and need to be dealt with. The police were scared, in my opinion, and didn’t know how to handle the situation. They allowed a molehill become a mountain. These lunatics that whined about a mask somehow taking away their freedom have seriously disrupted the province all the way to the provincial leader!! She’s one of them and officially, now the dumbest Premier this province has ever had,,,,,. It’s ludicrous! Not USA ludicrous, but nonetheless, a terrible situation.
I see this as a retired LEO after 30 years.

First of all, they shouldn't do that in the streets where there is traffic, because you would find a murderer who is going to run you over. People aren't that smart these days. I tell you, if you do that here, someone will run you over. The streets are for cars, not for doing this. Someone is going to kill you with a car, and then they will say the driver is guilty. NO, you sought death. I know they are protesting, but go to the government office or building to protest. Don't blame people who go to work, who want to take their children to school or pick them up, maybe they are in daycare who knows. The drivers are trying to get back to their daily routine. Imagine someone having a life or death emergency, and that person dies, because of these protesters who are blocking the streets? Gentleman. Please, you have to love each other in life. A particular act is not going to be justified in all cases, but the JSO people are comitting assault, and there can be a response to an assault. Force has to be reasonable, and non-escalating, etc... Just loosing your mind when you top out is not probably going to meet the standard. Ideally private security could be hired by some fund raising and could respond to these widespread criminal acts that are causing localized pollution, and property loss. Understandable, but still unacceptable in a civilised society. It should be treated like a crime of passion and a judge should treat it as such and have compassion and leniency, but the law applies to everyone and in every circumstance. We are encountering just this kind inequality in how justice is dispensed, currently because certain minorities are given softer punishments because of " trauma", "oppression" and "mental health issues" which just seems to encourage this entitled behaviour. In Britain, the law is supposed to apply to all " Without fear or favour" and despite his situation, it's still illegal to assault someone. I hope he gets a compassionate judge and that those infantile " protesters" get prison time. But blurring the strict guidelines of a civilised society on behalf of feelings, no matter how righteous, is not the way, we see evidence of that coming hellscape, because these people use feelings to justify criminal acts. How do we draw a principled line? I don’t want to give people like Trudeau the moral justification to punish protestors just because they block roads and cause inconvenience to fellow citizens. Perhaps these oil protestors should be allowed to do wha they want? I promise, even if life sucks for a while, for some people who get trapped on the road, these antics will backfire, and such tactics will become unattractive once more angry citizens decide to commit violence against them. Those citizens ought to see proper punishment for such violent actions, and we should not gloat about it.

Don't blame the motorists in the least. This is what these idiots need. The public standing up for themselves.
And no Piers most of us don't agree with you on this. I'm right with the man who punched the daylights out of the protester for endangering his pregnant partner. Threatening two lives. Enough is enough.

The police and government are spurring these disruptive incidents on by doing absolutely nothing!
The JSO idiots are endangering the lives and livelihoods of people by sitting in the middle of the road.
Of course the drivers are going to take matters into their own hands and someone WILL get killed because law enforcement did nothing!
I just hope it’s not a driver or passenger who pays the ultimate price for this stupidity.

Well violence it's never an answer but it's a logical reaction & understandable for the frustration that motorists have towards these entitled know-it-all crybabies. I agree w/ many of the comments that it's the Police not doing their jobs that's the problem. What do you think about this: The Police arrest the protesters & they serve their jail time & are accessed a fine. Once they've served their time, they're released from jail only to be sent to a mental ward for a psychological assessment regarding their 'Suicidal Tendencies'. So they become wards of the State & have to pay a percentage of their stay. That gives the State a reason to retain these people...for their own 'safety'. I think it's justifiable & legal. You?

Not using someone's pronouns is considered an act of violence to these zealots. Locking people up not being able to see their loved ones before they died was seen as compassionate and a necessary act to save no one from an inferior virus that had no more affect on the nation than the common cold.
