    Best setting is 6 o’clock on Auto Fan mode. I have installed 100s 😎

    do you install a overflow pan under the dehumidifier? Why or why not?

      Highly recommend installing this. Installed same model and my drain tube got clogged and the pan was able to capture all the water and then shut off the machine with the sensor that is installed on the pan.

      Yes this is very important to have the pan installed in case the drain fails. It was installed after we shot this video. Thanks for watching.

      Yes. The pan needs to get put under the unit once the primary drain gets plugged.

    Well, I learned there's no way I'm gonna keep climbing up into the attic to adjust that knob. The filter probably has to be done a few times each year but can't avoid that.. Why wouldn't you add a wifi control for the settings?

      Great questions. If you have the space to put the dehumidifier in a mechanical room in a basement or in an attic that can be access wither by stairs or by an attic ladder it would definitely be more convenient to change the filter. There is a remote sensor that allows you to read the condition of the air. This can mount on a wall down inside your home. Here is a link to the manufacturers website for more info www.santa-fe-products.com/product/compact-70-dehumidifier/. These dehumidifiers work great in conditioned crawlspaces and attics inside custom homes. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    How much does it cost to run those 2 dehumidifiers all the time? Does that cut into the savings from having a spray foamed Attic?

    • @RealPropertyShow
      @RealPropertyShow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On average, Santa Fe dehumidifiers can save around $250 per year on operating costs. The cost to run a dehumidifier can range from $10-$30 per month, or $120-$360 per year, depending on the size, usage time, and local electricity rates. A 70 pint dehumidifier uses 600-700 watts. This does not look anything like how the instructions from Santa Fe has about how to install this. I am not sure I would install it pulling just attic air even though it is the envelope of the spray foam. Also the one in the main attic is but against the roof so changing the air filter looks like it would be a PITA.

      There was drain pan installed under this unit after we shot this video. Here is a link to the manufactures instructions www.santa-fe-products.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/TS-1101.pdf

    Super bad installation. Why would you put a unit pulling water out if the structure with no drain pan? That’s just a nightmare waiting to happen and not quality work.

      It was not mentioned in the original video but the HVAC contractor had not installed the drain pan yet. There was one installed after the video was shot. It is recommended to installed a drain pan as you mentioned. Thanks for watching. Have a great weekend!

    That second unit isn’t even plugged in.
    Both were oriented for ease of installation, not servicing.
    Each need pan, isolation, cutoffs, auxiliary controls.

      Thanks for your feedback. This home was still under construction when this video was recorded. What would your recommendation be to install this dehumidifier so that it is easier to service?

    I know that is the right way to do it, but $1500 plus installation... how about a portable dehumidifier for example Midea-50 Pint(WiFi) with pump or gravity, set at 60% and clean permanent filter often? you still have to go into the attic to change the Santa Fe air filter.

    • @RealPropertyShow
      @RealPropertyShow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I highly recommend doing a permanent installation with a condensate line to the exterior with gravity flow.

      Snata Fe also requires a trap to be installed as well. @@RealPropertyShow
