2nd comment: When you were showing the somnia tarot and the in the lonely Woods Oracle, it really spoke to me. I do not own either of those decks. I guess I feel like the somnia is a bit disturbing and depressing. Maybe that is a shallow interpretation since I don’t actually own the deck. Doing grief work with that deck seems very intense. Both my mom and dad passed away in 2023, so I really need to do some grief work.
Oh, my dear, I feel emptied of air... I am so deeply sorry to hear this. Lost my dad in 2022, which has been struggle enough, so cannot imagine the pain of losing both parents in one year. How are you doing? Don't know about you, but if I've learned anything about grief, beyond the acute pain of it, it's how really and truly weird it can be, too, right? The way the emotions can crash onto you when least expected and then don't when you would expect them, how nonlinear it all is, and just all the layers to it. There is no set timeline for the healing process or "right" way to do it. Just be gentle with yourself and do the work in the way it calls to you. Everyone's journey is unique, and what works for some may not for others--including the Somnia Tarot because, yeah, on the surface it has that dark and intense vibe. I couldn't possibly say you'd have the same experience with it, but I personally found it to feel a bit softer around the edges than expected. Somber, but not distressing. There's something strengthening about it, too. But again, you might resonate with it completely differently, so just go with your heart on what deck you might choose for such work. And if you'd like an example of what a grief reading could look like, Kelly at the Truth in Story offers a beautiful one at her Etsy shop. I requested a reading from her about a year after losing my dad, when I felt ready for it, and it was very touching, as she's no stranger to bereavement and such an empathetic soul. In any case, I know there are no words that can fix anything so am just sending you a huge and heartfelt hug for what that is worth. Thank you for sharing with me. 🖤
@@RumerHaven Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful message. Some days are unbearable, other days I am able to feel a small amount of joy. I hover between mourning their loss and being grateful their suffering has ended. And it can even be the small things…Like seeing their favorite restaurant on the corner and bursting into tears. Thank you for mentioning truth in story. I will definitely check out her website. And I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your father as well.
@@megadele65 Oh bless, thank you, and I definitely understand what you mean about the small things; you just never know what might come up and the emotions that’ll bubble right up with it. One thing that gets me through is knowing the depth of the grief is the depth of the love. Doesn’t make everything all better, but it’s something to hold on to. 🖤
oh literally yelled out YES when I saw the two wells! that's exactly what that pairing gives! so glad it gave you a special moment like that! you got me again you know, love this. ❤❤❤
I recently purchased the Arthurian legends deck with the goal of starting the hallowquest (I was also inspired by candy’s video). But I realized that I need some background history of the authorian legends before I do this. I feel like it’s something you can’t really do fully without having some prior knowledge to that period of time and those legends. Are you finding that to be the case for yourself? I’ve purchased a couple of books about Arthurian legends, and will start reading those soon. Thanks for great video!
Oh yes, I definitely feel like I need more familiarity with Arthurian lore. I dipped my toe into it last year with a children's book of stories (that's about all my brain would process at the time 😆), with a list of more comprehensive books to follow, but I haven't gotten around to them yet. Not feeling the call for it as strongly, I guess, so I'm waiting for that to come back around, too. Would love to know which books you're reading and how the Hallowquest goes for you once you've started! In the meantime, thanks so much for joining me here. 🥰
I am so tempted by the Diablo tarot - I’ve never played the game but the deck calls to me. Am I right in thinking the guidebook is by Barbara Moore too?
Yes, Barbara Moore wrote the guidebook! Which I haven't properly dived into yet, as I need to work with the deck more. But it's really cool and called to me, too, even though it's not my usual style, and I'm not into gaming. I definitely don't think it requires that background knowledge, though, to work with and actually like the idea of world-building on my own. You'll have to let me know if you get it and what you think of it! Meanwhile, thanks so much for watching, Emily. 🥰
Lol, journal porn! Soo cool, love your grimoire. I started last year with it, but fell off the wagon in May. I thought it was because the decan walk started and it was all too intense to run together. It will be lovely to hear how you find it. 😊
Sweet, sweet grimoire looove...😘 Hee, glad you like it, too, and am hoping it'll keep me excited enough to stick this practice out! I totally agree that it's a lot in tandem with the decan walk and think I'm only willing to attempt it now that the latter is almost over. So much to catch up on still...eep! Would love to hear how it goes for you, though, if you pick back up on the Ancestral Grimoire this year! Thanks so much for watching. 🥰
This was the exact kind of lovely distraction I needed this morning 🥰
Aww, happy to distract. Thanks for indulging my babble. ☺

Awww goosebumps for the wells cards! This is why we come back to tarot over and over again. Loved this 💗
Right?! Thanks so much for sharing in that special synchronicity with me. 🥰

It was honestly such a rush when I flipped that oracle card over. Thank you, THANK YOU, Candy, for the inspiration!! 🖤
