In addition to all the times I've been to live performances of The Messiah (maybe a dozen?), I've heard countless recordings of it, and played and replayed many more versions of "For Unto Us," my very favorite among the many in Messiah. This is the most exciting version I've heard in recent years. It doesn't take the slow, ponderous pace of some traditional performances, nor does it have the frenetic, screechy sopranos making a mockery of the magnificent voices and instruments below them. And they're so enthusiastic, without being over the top. I wish I could have been there. Top 5.
Wonderfully energetic and beautifully sung. I have sung this many times (tenor) and most versions I have heard on the web are precise but lack vitality. Your version has life, energy and joy. May you continue to make much more music in the future. Your other pieces from Messiah are also a joy to listen to and watch. Much appreciation from Norfolk in the UK.
