  • Warren Gulch is an MTB trail in Idaho Springs Colorado. It's not super popular because of the 2500 ft climb (or shuttle) and more remote location, but don't be fooled; This trail is awesome in its own way. The most unique feature about the trail is that it's around the same steepness the whole way down, so you can really find some flow. Additionally, it's not all hand-dug rocks and roots. There are some intentionally placed rocks that make nice jumps and drops as well as well made berms for cornering.

Nice, how long was that first drifted section? This is one of my favorite trails on the front range. IMHO it has the best flow of any trail on the front range, and doesn't get too blown out since the "shuttle or 3000ft climb" part of the equation keeps the crowds away. I rode it without a shuttle in 2022, doable, but it is a 3000ft 8 mile gravel/paved road climb from the lower parking area. I think the blue/black difficult also only really applies to the optional lines, the main line is comarable to or slightly easier than Rutabaga.

The first snow section is less than 5% of the trail! I left a log on trailforks so people know.
Yeah this trail rocks. The distance from Denver and requirement to shuttle or be in good shape keeps the crowds away for sure.
I was really surprised by how awesome it was, AND it had some small man-made features thrown in which was a cherry on top. You’re right about the flow. You don’t need to stop at all for 2500 feet of vert. It’s crazy

What trailhead/parking lot did you use to access Warren Gulch trail?
    Thanks- Eddy

There’s no parking lot. It’s right off the side of the road! We used trail forks and just parked near where the trail started
