What a joy to watch, cyberpunk is a perfect description, the dark and fog, with all the bright and many colours of city skyscrapers blending into the mist! Perfect!
Thank you so much for the words Dave. I got really lucky with the weather, I was only there for five days but was able to film this masterpiece nonetheless!
Wow man, I just can't believe this. It's a amazing shoot! I really love Chongqing, for real! Why I feel so deep emotion every time I watch walking videos about this Chinese city? I can't explain... Thank you so much for you time recording this under rain. Take care too! :)
It truly is a special city for me too. It has a great feel, and despite not being a rich Chinese city (the lights and skyscrapers can be misleading), people are more polite and friendly than many other Chinese cities I've visited. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and the rhythm of life feels slow. It is one of my dreams to live here one day, at least for a year or so.
@@streetsofasia8895 If I chose a country to live far from where I was born, it would be to stay there for the rest of my life. You know, I don't feel like a "citizen of the world," meaning someone who could live anywhere. I'm not like that, I'm attracted to the east only. I love the Orient in general, so I own a lot of "special places". And in the specific case of China, I would choose to live in Chongqing for sure; in that "Cyberpunk Urban Jungle" -like neighborhood (as you described in the title of video recorded on there), a jumble of buildings on land where there appear to be no flat areas. That's perfect, is my favorite kind of place! Grateful for your explanations and thanks again.
Thanks for the great comment Jane! I don't think you could choose a better city. I too am in love with East Asia, and would consider spending the rest of my life here. Although I don't think I could ever live in just one place. I need to move around so that my life doesn't fall into a rut. I really hope you have the chance to move there! Wish you the best of luck. Btw, I'm curious what exactly it is that you love about East Asia so much?
@@streetsofasia8895 Well, this: the view that the whole is greater than the part, not merely spoken in public but effectively practiced in society; I like it that way and that's how I want to live as soon as I have the opportunity to leave my birthplace. I am not motivated by glamor, as you may conclude correctly, I want to be able to contribute to a larger and more secular ideal, rather than simply to "pay my bills". I already have a choice made (but I don't want to detail it) and all I need now is just enough financial resources to "try" safely. :)
Wow, this is so cool. I love all the colored light shining through the fog. So film noire or cyberpunk. Just loving it. Thanks so much and well done. - Henry
Really appreciate it my friend! Chongqing is the coolest city I've been to, no doubt it. Can't wait to go back. More views would be great, but oh well haha.
@@streetsofasia8895 Hey no problemo. You're welcome. Please come and check out my new videos too. I'm watching your videos from start to end! All of it. Hope you can do the same for me!
It can be very cheap depending on which hotel you stay at. I always try to stay at one of the standard Chinese chain hotels - Seven Days Inn (七天), Home Inn (如家), or Hanting (汉庭). They are everywhere, super cheap, and reliable enough. Western hotels will be quite a bit more I think.
@@streetsofasia8895 I thought about going there to learn Chinese, but I read multiple Chinese say that they don't speak good mandarin in Chongqing and there dialect is hard to understand for alot of chinese people. How much Chinese do you need to learn to get by there for some months there along with places like Shenzen,Guangzhou,Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Hong kong?
I hope she has the chance to come! Such a great place to see! Out of Hong Kong and Shanghai, I absolutely recommend Hong Kong. One of my favorite cities ever.
