It really is hard trying to break the habit of that. I constantly find myself calling nox umbreon or calling sparkit pikachu.

@@gedeuchnixan3830 he is talking about that most of the pokemons based on real life animals, and most of the pals based on the real life animals, fox is fox anywhere, and creature based on fox gonna look like fox, creature based on hedgehog gonna look like hedgehog. GameFreak and the company that made Palworld both based their creatures on real life animals, and it is inevitable for them to look the same in many ways.
Seeing a fiery fox and going “that’s Vulpix” is frankly absurd and one of the big issues with pokemon fans and this gripe. Because it’s a fox… like of course another fox is going to look similar to a pokemon also based on a fox… and the second one is a horse so of course it looks like a horse. Despite pokemon fans beliefs to the contrary pokemon doesn’t own animals.
Yeah also they said that pokemon does inspire some designs but alot of things are based on the same stuff like oh no look it's a bipedal rabbit that scorbunny it's based on the same stuff
@taylorhewson8995 the guy had the number 1 argument for where the actual inspiration for these pals come from, he said lucario is an anubis which is 100 percent correct and palworld is taking inspiration from all kinds of mythology from Egyptian to Norse
They couldn't think of a comparison for the deer because they don't have Norse mythology on thier mind, you could say it's a rip off of valhiem but it's just the name of the Norse deer
When I heard them compare Foxparks to Vulpix I thought 'really?' Foxparks has a flame on the tip of its tail. It's a more literal Fire Fox than any Pokémon.
I can see many Pokemon comparisons, but the fact many do not immediately recognize the lack of hair curls or multiple curly tails and just compare it to Vulpix is absurd.
What do you think is the most recognizable elemental monster of myth than a Fire Fox?

The image you are refering to thats being tossed around is quite literally a meme that was created by the dragon quest community to mock people who say this.
Please look at the images and tell me how stylizing a design to fit into your own world is copying. Especially when the comparisons look practically nothing alike.
Im sorry, but I genuinly hate that this is being thrown around as if its the truth. It simply isnt. And you are being incredibly dishonest if you keep up this misinformation people toss around like its candy.
Like seriously, Pokemon Vs palworld has actual comparisons cause some of the model parts are honest to god rips from the original models and added onto other models. Dragonquest has a bat with a super derpy face. Pokemon has a bat thats supposed to look more realistic. The evolved form has a giant mouth. The "evolved" form of the bat in Dragonquest does not.
And lets bring Caterpie into this as well as a great example real quick: The two sprites look nothing alike but the colors.
This is like as if you said that an anime copied Dogs IRL because the dog in the anime is still a dog. Yea its a dog. Yes its the breed. Does it look in any way shape or form realistic to you? No? There you go.

The game is still fun and addicting, have mixed together so many good ideas from different games,
And the world of is just feel so much more alive and adventure inspiring than a god forbid scarlet and violet

1. Nintendo knows of this game for over 3 years from many appeareances on especially japanese game conventions. Nintendo shut down the Palworld Pokemon mod that was being sold by someone in 24 hours.
2. Nintento already is copying animals in the first place, i dont see the whole earth suing nintento for plagiarizing animals in their game.
You can see the resemblence, but you cant just say its ripping off Pokemon considering Pokemon was already copying, making a mix of animals with popular monsters from games at the times the first pokemon was made. In fact a lot of the pokemons are so hugely inspired by other works and real animalst that i think the only pokemon trademarked by nintendo is pikachu.
@@shineek Ever heard of the animal called pika? Even pikachu is inspired by an irl animal, either a pika or (this one was confirmed, iirc) a squirrel. So yeah... Pikachu might be trademarked, but not because of the animal + type combination.
The thing with most of these is they are just IRL animals but with exaggerated traits. Nintendo doesn't own the copyright on real life animals.

And Palworld really uses the same art style for Pals. Though Foxparks is quite a different design on the same concept.

Honestly, for a lot of the Pals, you would have to nitpick to call a given Pal "plagiarized".
Lucario doesn't really look like Anubis. Like if you were a judge for which one looked more like it belonged in an Egyptian mythology themed game, would you seriously pick Lucario?

At the end of the Hangyu video, the one carrying a lamball is actually good as if you have a pal incapacitated in your base, the other pals in your base will actively carry them to a bed in order to recover

What most people forget is that Pokémon themselves are based on a lot of living, mythical and religious creatures from around the world. They can't really do anything for Palworld using the likeness of said creatures themselves.
I think sometimes some people forget that artwork can be inspired as well. I do wonder where is the line drawn between inspired and copied. I also feel like sometimes it hard for certain pokemon fans to see a certain pals as it own thing because as how much pokemon design is ingrained in their minds. I believe if another company made their own design, people would do the same thing to that game as well if that company became popular like palworld. Like where does this end.
Also whemn i see two pic togther Palworld vs Pokémon for some of the designs. They do not look like the complete same charcter.
Art style is also uncopyrightable. It's not something you can copyright.

I honestly think the whole "they just ripped off pokemon" argument to be stupid. They've come out with over a thousand different pokemon so its almost impossible for any fantasy creature to not look like some kind of pokemon or digimon. At least palworld doesn't have living trash bags and ice-cream cones.

How do you see vulpix where is the hair tuft where is the five tails where is the eyes that are only pupils. This fox is clearly orange, not Brown /reddish brown.

Thing is, make any monster design that is Pokemonish and no matter how Original it is, people will cry Pokemon. The problem with Palworld is that people are approaching it as if IT IS a pokemon knock off. Which if you have played it, it is not. Yes the pal catching mechanics is basically the same and ofc there are some similar pal designs but thats where it stops.
Pokemon: pick a starter
-Cannot have no Pokemon in my party, one slot always has to be filled (excluding pre-starter)
-Turn based fighting
-Point of the game is to collect Pokemon, level them up and finish the elite 4 etc.
Palworld: You can play the entire game without once capturing a Pal.
-Survival based gameplay.
-Not turn based
-Guns, armor, RPG based stats for the player to level up
There's definitely more but another comparison that I also would like to point out is,
Call of duty and Battlefield have EXACT same Guns AND GAMEPLAY is literally the same.
Now do fan boys run around screaming that one copied the other? No because although similar they both can exist in this world.
People who gatekeep and only want "One" Pokemon game to exist must have very bland taste. I'd rather have a variety of well made games and just play and enjoy what you like...

Pokemon copied Dragon Quest, Pokemon copied Digimon, Palworld did not copy Pokemon. They don't own animals, they don't own elements, they don't own mythology, and they don't own cutesy art styles.

What I like about the Pal designs is they look they could be from 1st to 3rd gen but that´s just our western minds. Saw a video of a japanese couple and the woman was suppose to tell Pal or Pokemon and quite quickly got a hang of it. She discribed the Pal designs as Pokemon with a touch of Digimon design, wasn´t that easy though since it looked like her boyfriend was showing redraws of both and not real images and some details from the real animations are lost in that.

I would say that when using the artstyle thats has been chosen. Considering the vast amount of pokémons and their impact. I bet its almost impossible to create a unique character that doesn't share some kind of resemblence. not always because they look similar, but because the artstyle is deeply connected to the pokémon franchise.

See the problem here is that Pokemon itself doesn't have very original designs. It's the kind of stuff a kid doodling in a notebook at school would come up with a lot of the time. I'm sorry but "what if rat, but electric colors" is not even close to original or innovative. Pokemon's designs are so childishly basic that its nearly impossible to not "copy" them in some way. If Pikachu pulled out an MP7 I might take the copying thing more seriously, but I'm pretty sure I missed that episode if it ever happened.
