Expectation: Hamon vs Tusk epic fight and analysis to both characters narrative Canon Reality: Jonathan giving Johnny a hug to cure his crippling depression

I never thought about it since I just jumped into the series blind as prep for J-Star Victory vs. I was just bothered about how the characters stopped referring to them as Jojo over time (Part 4 could've been the exception with 3 Jojos running around) that I never questioned, what makes a Jojo?
@@JakeSmith-mq5dc a "jojo" is any member of the Joestar bloodline, Giorno included, of which their first and last name can be combined to say "jojo", "GioGio".
@@Flamme-Sanabi Well I meant beneath the surface details of name and bloodline like what core traits do all Jojos possess? Don't woooosh me but part 1 Dio is honestly *faeces* compared to every other part. The pillar men were the most powerful vampires to ever roam the earth as well as Kars being the ultimate life form, DIO's ability and stand stats were nearly able to beat Star Platinum, which had an A in every stat except for range, Kira's stand, similar to TH, can kill you with just one touch as well as rewind time the moment anyone learns his indentity, Diavolo's ability allows him to allow fate to continue while he doesn't take any dmg, WS can steal your stand as well as its ability, C-moon can change the gravity and MIH can speed up time so fast it collapses on itself causing the universe to reset to a universe Pucci desires. So uh, being able to regen, freeze people and *l a s e r b e a m* is not really anything to any of the other main villians
It's as simple as this I figure for a spin vs hamon user battle, hamon collides with spin, they're both alternate universe counterparts, the world folds in on itself, fight ends, either that or each time they collide, they can't harm each other, and cancel each other out, the spin just losing all power, and the hamon doing the same, and possibly removing all current hamon from the users body, so it falls to stands.
I think it's unfair that a lot of fans dismiss Jonathan, simply because he's nowhere near as morally ambiguous as his descendents. Moral ambiguity isn't the only thing that makes a character interesting and compelling. Seeing them overcome great challenges and doing good despite all the bad things that happened to them is also important, and Jonathan fits them to a tee. In spite of everything that happened to him in his past, he never gave in to despair and always persevered in the face of danger. As a gentleman, he was compelled to help and stand-up for Erina, which resulted in the two eventually getting married. He still loved and respected his father, even though he was always much harsher towards him. He honored and respected Bruford, even though he was trying to kill him. He cried for Dio, despite the fact that he was a monster who did everything he could to ruin his life. And in his final moments, after a life filled with tragedy and death, he embraces the one who tormented him the most. He sees Dio not as a monster, but as a misguided brother who also suffered a lot. Plus, with his final act of sacrifice, he saved his pregnant wife and Lisa Lisa from death, ensuring that the Joestar bloodline would continue to exist.
When you think about it, Dio suffered a lot as a child, and his worst fear was to become like his father. He then was given a great oppurtunity to better himself and live a wealthy life. Yet he ended up just like his father and gave into despair by relinquishing his humanity. Yet in a strange twist of fate, in doing so he made Johnathan suffer more than he ever did, but Jojo never gave up, he only improved as person. Then after all that happened, Jojo still loved Dio and showed him the humanity he had forsaken. Even though Dio never stopped being evil, he did improve, as he became much more of an intellectual in Part 3. And he learned to respect Jojo, despite never feeling respect to anyone before. You gotta respect Johnathan for that.

@@James-oj6ru arguably, Johnny wouldn’t, if Jonathan isn’t in his way. At the end of SBR, where he’s negotiating with Funny Valentine, he said that he “wished everyone would came back alive”. He’s still kind hearted, or he wouldn’t went soft on lil mouse Danny. He’s just covering it with a façade of cruelty and heartless. In my opinion, Jonathan was, and is, the Best Joestar for me, my Favorite. Its because I can actually relate to him and what Dio had done to him, and his Nature as a character represents what I wish I could be and what I feel like my soul is truly. I also relate to him in that im probably the least special out of the group, I dont have unique quirks or talents I outbest everyone in, Im just a Guy with a Big Heart(Sometimes doesnt end well for me as you can guess) and who wants to be truthful and honest. To me, Jonathan > Johnny anytime of the day and I personally think Araki hit the nail on the head with Jonathan, plus he does look cooler than Johnny and his Artstyle in the Anime is my personal favorite. I only wish that Araki brough him back to life or sometime in Part 3 to end Dio, and maybe even give him his own Stand that isnt The Passion.
To be honest with you, I would take Hamon over spin, mostly because with Hamon, you can literally extend your arm, do some really cool stuff with it, same thing with spin, except with spin it’s a lot tougher, 16:9 ratio, timing everything perfectly, overall Hamon is a lot easier to learn and manage, and I would take Hamon
I've been waiting too long here go some more ideas for the OG style stand off: Kakoyion and Hierophant Green vs Jolyne and Stone free Narancia and Aerosmith vs Keicho and Bad Company
Honestly, Johnny is my favorite JoJo because of how similar and different he is to Jonathan. He kills people for one, which is always a treat. The fact that he's an asshole for slot of the part gives him moments that most jojo's wouldn't even dream of except maybe Giorno or Jolyne.
Just stumbled upon your channel and series after finishing Part 6, and it is such an awesome analysis! I’d love to see a comparison of Dio vs. Pucchi, as Dio’s potential for infinite time stop vs. gravity control would be fascinating to discuss.
Johnny: SPIN! Jonathan: *breaths and integrates infinite spin into hamon after just one attack* Oi, did you just shot me person? I'm the original, let's have some tea and crumpets!
While Jonathan is very strong physically he would likely not beat Joseph at his prime. Joseph had no issues playing dirty and also was just better at using his surroundings then Jonathan was. It is also worth noting Joseph was significantly smarter as well as he often tended to read a person’s personality allowing him to use that for his advantage. I won’t argue that Jonathan wouldn’t beat the rest but there is a chance Jotaro could also beat him without his stand.
@@franklinmoses1267 not even physically, you could say he’s slightly stronger but that’s all you’re going to get because every feat Joseph has done is better than Jonathan
I think they wouldnt even fight.Jonathan would just try to heal Johnny with hamon.Or ask Speedwagon to give him enough money to heal his leg with surgery.
I know this comment is probably gonna get buried but I just wanted to thank you for making this video. Before this I kinda just thought of Jonathan as the 'plain jojo' but your analysis of his character really made me see him in a new light, so thanks for that :)
Just imagen Jonathan bsing and absorbing spin or holding it with his mastery of Hammon. Just because it's the America version of Hammon or something like that, it's wouldn't be Jojo without some bs like that xD
And also, to deliver the last punch on Dio in the Castle Fight, Jonathan spins on himself to gain momentum. Being of course made with the Golden Rectangle proportions, Jonathan was definitely using the Spin in that instance.

Me: Finishes reading Part 7
My TH-cam recommendations:
Nice good to have another original versus alternate.
Wheel of Fortune vs the ambulance that killed Kira
Jonathan: The Man who flights with no Stand.
Johnny: The Man who fights but cannot Stand.
To be honest with you, I would take Hamon over spin, mostly because with Hamon, you can literally extend your arm, do some really cool stuff with it, same thing with spin, except with spin it’s a lot tougher, 16:9 ratio, timing everything perfectly, overall Hamon is a lot easier to learn and manage, and I would take Hamon
now that you did this, i can't wait for Will vs Gyro

Honestly, Johnny is my favorite JoJo because of how similar and different he is to Jonathan. He kills people for one, which is always a treat. The fact that he's an asshole for slot of the part gives him moments that most jojo's wouldn't even dream of except maybe Giorno or Jolyne.
Just stumbled upon your channel and series after finishing Part 6, and it is such an awesome analysis! I’d love to see a comparison of Dio vs. Pucchi, as Dio’s potential for infinite time stop vs. gravity control would be fascinating to discuss.
I love that he called the entire Joestar bloodline a bunch of Dicks XD
the most overdue video has finally come out
Besides Jonathan would just flex his muscles so hard that he un-spun his entire body
@Ali Ali don't tell me you've never flexed to unspin yourself??

@@PirateKingRoger-x1y he was british lol a british man beating up a vampire and shank him
Remove everyone's Stand, and Jonathan curb stomps every Jojo including Joseph
Jotaro seems strong as fuck though
Fuck no, Joseph literally is the best in every way, he fought beings that treated vampires as food and was able to fight them even one on one
But Jonathon didn't need luck on his side, all jojos are smart and use there surroundings but Jonathon was probably the only one without luck
7:10 That got me lol
Bri'ish?!
I think they wouldnt even fight.Jonathan would just try to heal Johnny with hamon.Or ask Speedwagon to give him enough money to heal his leg with surgery.
That feeling when the huge, hulking muscular guy is the underdog in a fight and everyone expects the crippled scrawny guy to win.
The only important difference is that Jonathan can stand, while Johnny has a Stand.
@LuisricoMambo and johhny can stand in the end
@LuisricoMambo but in total he lived for 29 years and he was crippled for 1to2 years

I know this comment is probably gonna get buried but I just wanted to thank you for making this video. Before this I kinda just thought of Jonathan as the 'plain jojo' but your analysis of his character really made me see him in a new light, so thanks for that :)
When the world needed him most, he returned.
I don’t really think this is a hard debate
Just imagen Jonathan bsing and absorbing spin or holding it with his mastery of Hammon. Just because it's the America version of Hammon or something like that, it's wouldn't be Jojo without some bs like that xD
You Talked about Spin is Stronger than Hamon
Why dont you do a Stand off with Gyro and William Zeppeli?
"I will ripple the cripple" -Hamon user to Johnny
This is one of the most unfair matchups I've ever seen
And also, to deliver the last punch on Dio in the Castle Fight, Jonathan spins on himself to gain momentum. Being of course made with the Golden Rectangle proportions, Jonathan was definitely using the Spin in that instance.
