i just listened to a call with APEX with a very negative counselor. I was like I refuse to let him discourage me so I am back into it too. I wish you the best of luck as well. GO GET THEM CONTRACTS sis!
I love the high level of information that was given here! There's so much about Government Contracting that can be intimidating but once you understand what your reading it's a breeze! Funding can definitely be an issue, especially with bad personal credit. I'm glad this video popped up as it has given me some things to think about. Much Love & Appreciation Ladies! ❤
Thank you so much for your insight, it a big help, yes funding will be a source of interest that I will have to indulge in. I’ve worked in state system for 35 years and retired, your advisement has helped me greatly. Thank you
Wow! This was so much valuable information 😮. God bless you, and thank you both for sharing 🙌🏾. I was just introduced to Gov Con in June this year, so I'm sure I will be referring back to this video time and time again 🤯.
Thank you so much for this interview. Thanks for your consistent service Ms.Stowe, refreshing to say the least🎖️🎖️🎖️ I’m a small business hoping to secure a contract soon. The certification site has been inactive the last month or so. Hopefully it will open back up this week
You can get a contract without a website, I follow a lot of successful mentors who did not start out with a website & some won million dollar contracts without a website. But they are on Sam’s.
My comment wasn't to say you couldn't win a contract without a website. You're correct; there are companies winning contracts without websites. Establishing virtual real estate, like a website, helps with marketing. The benefit is that as contracting professionals conduct market research, they're able to easily find your company. A simple Google search is one way contracting professionals conduct market research.
So let's say your registration is due Nov 12, 2024. I add new NAICS codes Nov. 10, 2024. Does this mean I get a whole new year, or just extended for a few more months? Thanks!👌
Ha…businesses who submit actual bids for products and services don’t all have websites, cape statements, etc. The issue with small businesses pursuing, bidding and winning government contracts is the lack of desire to read and comprehend the bid specs and requirements. CO’s are not cookie cutter. Great interview but some of what was discussed is subjective. All bids are different and should be approached individually…Gov contracting is not rocket science but it isn’t for the lazy minded individual. People should not go to the SBA for assistance because they won’t like the info they receive. The best thing would be to find a great mentor/Coach who actually has double digit millions in government contracts themselves, not someone who has no contracts or someone who has less dollars in contracts than the people they seek to coach. You do not need certifications to win government contracts, and they will not walk you in the door. You can use subcontractors for all of your bids if you can find qualified businesses to do the work.
Although contracting officers have discretion (to an extent) when awarding contracts, much of what is decided is based on standard laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Their decisions shouldn't vary too far from these standards. Please keep in mind that just like all contracting professionals aren't the same, all SBA offices and APEX Accelerators aren't the same. If you aren't happy with your supporting office, try switching to another office. Also, depending on the requirement you're interested in, there are limitations on subcontracting, so it may not be as simple as finding someone else that can perform the work.
This is gold!!!! 30:05 😤💪🏾

There’s always exceptions, but having a website helps. Thanks for your comment.
Still trying to find out how to bid on those contracts
Kesha shared a lot of information I her book. If you haven’t done so, I’d grab a copy.
When you add your NAICS codes it renews your Sam’s registration also
Yep, it sure will. Any change you make to your SAM profile will update your registration.
Good to know. Thank you!
