I posted to the team a while ago about making an outpost for them like the old SoD did and they liked that idea since they wanted to get rid of the outpost system they created when they first made the mod. From there, they took up the idea and asked if I could do a short story on why it was there. I didn't have to, but I was so honored that they took the idea, I wrote up the backstory real quick for, what is now, the Freelancers Guild. I have no clue if the original post is floating around there somewhere, probably is. But yeah, if you go to the Merc outpost, the leader is... Very obviously named Augustus Makmix. I just wanted it to be Augustus since I did no coding or the like, but they tacked it on anyway and I'm forever humbled by that.
@yogi why not, whats your reasoning, warsworld and phantasy are both really good at what they were designed for and share the same basic premis but differ from their replayibility, so why reject my nomination if he put a equally good title up thats does something different not making it the same
There is also the Between Empires Mod focus on the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th, Nova Aetas, Bones of Ragnvald, Prophesy of Pendor, Aut Caesar Aut Nihil (On Steam Workshop, one of my favorite mods of the Roman Empire), the list goes on and on man. Such a beautiful game.
Between Empires always crashed while I was playing as Italy :/ not sure if it was like that for other nations. Parabellum was another cool mod that got taken off for copyright though
Warsword Conquest and Perisno is both my absolute favorites, i love Warsword for how deverse the world is, also many unique mechanics such as magic and dungeons, some unit are ridiculously OP like magicians and grenade launcher units because of their OP AoE attack, i also love spamming dwarfen engineer since their shotgun is OP too. With Perisno i love how fleshed out the mod is, it has great setting (world + lore) and a lot of nice quality of life features, i used to love spamming elintoran archers which is very OP since they're very accurate archers which headshots most of the time but they're meh now since the mod devs nerfed their accuracy, arulo leaf thrower in otherhand lol Oh yeah both mod are still in active development which i really like (warsword conquest will have big monster sub mod which will be released soon)
I remember there was also a sub mod for Brytenwalda called "Imperium Romanum". It was the same detailed map of Brytenwalda, just in the times when Romans were still there. It´s sad, they didn´t finished it and it is also not an official mod on Steam. But it should still be available somewhere.
I Played both Perisno and Pendor but I like Perisno, The Graphics, Variety of troops, Fantasy Items, Story, Adventure Quests, Mystery Quests, Zann Invasion etc The list goes on, Pendor is good too but its more like polished Vennila with some updates but Perisno is another level.
If you do a part 2, I recommend checking out Aut Caesar Aut Nihil. From what you've said about your favorites, I think you'll like the features. It also adds some story and hidden (not very hidden) treasures, that (sadly) aren't game breaking. Ummmm, should also mention that some parts are not safe for work. Just digital breasts, but you should probably be aware.
I'm hyping myself up for it, didn't expect this video to reach such a large audience (at least compared to my usual performance). There's definitely more mods to be played and just because I have 1600 hours of gameplay don't mean I'm done exploring :P
@Gman But thats what it makes it so good. It feels like natural Warband. Very easy to understand. I still struggle with Prophesy of Pendor as the world is brutal.
if you're interested on an ancient chinese-based mod then try 108 heroes, it isn't the best but it's definitely one of my top faves (gotta love the voiced dialogues)
After watching this video, I realized I haven't tried many of the Warband mods yet. I suggest you play The Last Days of Middle Earth though! It's just like ACOK but for LOTR.
Cut out a part for this video where I gave an honorable mention to a mod called blood in the west, which was based on LOTR. Even had you start with the whole fellowship in your party if i recall correctly. However, bit of hot take, but I dont like LOTR. Never have 🙄😄
You should give Tohlobaria a shot. It's not a popular mod but it's really good and personally my favourite because the enemy uses actual tactics that play to their faction's strenghts. For example: Imfir Confederation (similar to Rhodoks) have their crossbowmen deployed in front of pikemen and halberdiers, they deploy their shields and skirmish with the enemy, once the enemy gets close they retreat behind the infantry and support them from the rear
Good videos man although i have my reservations with 1860, it's supposed to be wild west but almost nothing of the actual wild west is seen as it ends in Santa Fe, and plenty of historically relevant rebel or bandit factions are missing, it's a civil war mod with tons of taste for the banditry part but not really wild west.
Warsword Conquest, Light & Darkness: Heroes of Calradia, Age of Sword & Sorcery, Novas Aetas, Perisno, PoP, and the Reckoning mod are all my favourites.
@@thesenate8268 I actually managed to completely conquer calradia in bannerlord. Never did with warband, mainly because sieges are way more grindy. And there's just too manu mods to try besides! 😄
I've had a few comments that the links to the mods don't work. It's true, there seems to be a glitch, where youtube doesn't show the full link and instead finishes the link with "...", and these dots get copied onto the link instead of the full address, which leads nowhere... I've repasted all of the links and although they still end with 3 dots, as of writing this comment, it seems to work now. I know! Makes the lack of a more complex siege gameplay in bannerlord even more frustating, knowing taleworlds and the brytenwalda team worked together!
To me Gekokujo is the best best mod. they did everything right, amazing art, amazing map, everything feels balanced and taleworlds basically copied their peasant and noble recruit system which makes alot of sense like you said. Close second is warsword conquest for sure since i am a huge fan of warhammer. another mod i really enjoy that is not featured on this list is : Last days of the third age. This is a lord of the rings mod with a unique mechanic i have not seen in any other mod and it is great to play even if you are not a fan or even know lotr.
I remember playing old America years ago. I stayed up all night with a handful of troops bullying bandits cuz I didn't really understand the game mechanics yet
im glad you mentioned Perisno, and i am also glad you mentioned sountrack as first thing, its really great. The only thing which saddens me about the game, is that 99% of the time the factions are the same as in all other playthroughts, usually it being 4-5 strong factions: Elintor taking whole eastern-north, Drahara taking whole south and maccavia/reich des drachen taking whole western side of map. Occasionaly you will see Zann with some first Tolranian fortifications. But Valahir? They just sit perfectly still in the corner for 2000 days till player will delete the world, Lmao. Player just always need to do something to keep one faction alive. Once i took qualateqa just to make cretas monarchy stay, they are way too weak at start. Btw there was another update some time ago, to anybody who wants to know.
Just so you there was a sword of damoclies mod in og mount and blade, it was the original invasion mod and by day 500 if you didn't have the map conquerd and under your Control with buffed lords and well garisoned castles, the legeion would whip you out in a master of days
at least mention 1257ad enhanced edtion mod the most perfect mods ever . i mean by that a huge map of europe and north africa and middle east asia minor and even russia and the stepps of golden horde more then 42 faction ! with unique troop line for most every faction ! and even have religion mechanism the ability of create your own troops or join crusade and take jerusalem or a pagen and restore lithuania and defeat those teutonic knights ! or invade englad with norway or restore iberia with garnada or untied the north africa and restore the mowahdidn (Almohades) and many things ! and the most i like is lance Recruitment ! for every lance you recruit you got one tier 7 knight very op unit and hard to make ! with some veterens of spearman and some archers and a lot of low tier of spearman,sowrdmen,(twohandedsoldeirs) and a lot of rual and urban peasents each (the rual upgrade to archers and crossbows of course and the urban go to infantry line and the cavalry line you can got is only from youth squires and upgarde them to heroic knight) ! very historical and acurate simulation of medieval period Recruitment !. and never forget the shild wall formation and pasive spear brace formation and more !

Just tried perisno and put everything on hard, got stuck for more that one hour in the dwarf start where you need to clear the mine 😆 the mod is hard as fudge.
Hi. If you mean multiplayer (online) or single player (offline) then all mods unless specified are primarily offline. Though some mods have a multiplayer option, which is typically battle maps like any online shooter: fight, die, respawn. 1860s america for instance has a MP option though i dont know if anybody is playing these days. As for storage, mods are pretty like, usually around 1 gb. Biggest i've seen was 3-4 gb. If you need help on how to install, i made a video for that, link in the description.

Bannerlord is a much bigger, heavier game. There is a WIP game of thrones mod, but it's 16 gb in space (compared to 2 gb for warband) Also bannerlord is still technically in early access, meaning the devs constantly make updates to the game that often make current mods incompatible, so most modders dont bother, at least until the final, more stable version is released.
The black woman is the beautiful, powerful Skylar! Strong, but also funny, she fights for the underdog... and kicks ass in every situation! Any game that allows me to create my own character has seen Skylar for a while, including in Bannerlord, XCOM 2, State of Decay 2 and Fallout 4. It's also my GF's spiritual alter ego, from whom I was inspired. 😄
How do you play perisno? I tried to play it again recently, but it seems to have become hideously difficult. i tried to help a village, and they were attacked by an immense army of "doomknight". Even thought i had just started playing and i had like 4-5 militia and some mounted dude i had rescued from bandits.I also tried to help against the rebellion of a local village noble, but he also had an immense army of elite unit, it was ridiculous and unbelievable too because his army was larger and more elite than the army of all the giants lord, why doesn't he just take over the kingdom??
Thing is, I tend to bypass the grind of leveling up by cheating my way to level 62 right away 😂 That said, yeah, Perisno can be ridiculous, so you gotta be careful to choose your battles, especially early on. I just wish party size limit would increase faster, like in Brytenwalda when you can pay bards to increase your renown.
@@blahblah7720 unlike most mods, in Perisno you really have to read what the quest-giver says. Sometimes it is some paltry bandits, other times it is a nightmare. But, as Terry Duke says... cheats can be your best friend. (Though, I tend to abuse the export/import feature, myself)
The Warsword Conquest mod is my favorite, but unfortunately for some reason it was lagging a lot when I downloaded it with Winrar and below it showed that the mod really won't work without using Warband Script Extender Can you help me?
@@TerryDuke Thank you for your help. I have two more questions. The website said to use 7-Zip instead of WinRar. The only problem with this is that my computer doesn't want to install it for some reason, or at least when I thought it was successful, the Warsword Conquest file didn't open and displayed an error, so I couldn't put it in the Modules. How did it work for you and if with 7-Zip, can you send me a link where I can download it?

@@ogaburan Well now I'm just getting more curious 🙄 Thing is, I wasn't exploring mods when I made this video, I was replaying my favorite mods from years ago and ranking them. I did play Pendor a bit, but at the time I was on a potatoe PC and this mod crashed A LOT. So it didn't really occur to me to re-visit it for this video. But times change, so do computers. I have a much better one now, so seeing how many people have been praising it, I should probably check it out in the future.
@@TerryDuke played both Pendor and Perisno recently (I prefer Perisno as well, but the latest update made it so I couldn't load my save game so I left in frustration) Neither had crashing problems. (Note, I use steam workshop, so it is possible that takes care of any possible conflicts)
@@rhoetusochten4211 Using steam workshop for mod installs is exactly the thing that will end up corrupting your save files, the mods will update on their own without your knowledge and boom your save is useless.

I'd agree Perisno is the best mod out there right now, but Prophecy of Pendor is definitely in the top 4 that I have come across.
I have been playing Warband since 2019 and never knew about many of these mods because I just browsed the Steam Workshop. Thank you so so much.

For me its Prophesy of Pendor for #1 Perisno #2 (recently been having problems with it not running well though)
Stop by the Discord. Theres some helpful tips to avoid crashes.
Pendor has always been more stable than Perisno, hell, probably even more stable than Viking Conquest.

Unfortunately no mod is perfectly balanced, even native! There's a reason there's a whole king harlaus throwing feasts running gag.

Latter has way too many abusive mechanics which ain't polished at all. Pendor is much more balanced and polished out.

Just so you there was a sword of damoclies mod in og mount and blade, it was the original invasion mod and by day 500 if you didn't have the map conquerd and under your Control with buffed lords and well garisoned castles, the legeion would whip you out in a master of days

at least mention 1257ad enhanced edtion mod the most perfect mods ever . i mean by that a huge map of europe and north africa and middle east asia minor and even russia and the stepps of golden horde more then 42 faction ! with unique troop line for most every faction ! and even have religion mechanism the ability of create your own troops or join crusade and take jerusalem or a pagen and restore lithuania and defeat those teutonic knights ! or invade englad with norway or restore iberia with garnada or untied the north africa and restore the mowahdidn (Almohades) and many things ! and the most i like is lance Recruitment ! for every lance you recruit you got one tier 7 knight very op unit and hard to make ! with some veterens of spearman and some archers and a lot of low tier of spearman,sowrdmen,(twohandedsoldeirs) and a lot of rual and urban peasents each (the rual upgrade to archers and crossbows of course and the urban go to infantry line and the cavalry line you can got is only from youth squires and upgarde them to heroic knight) ! very historical and acurate simulation of medieval period Recruitment !. and never forget the shild wall formation and pasive spear brace formation and more !

Just tried perisno and put everything on hard, got stuck for more that one hour in the dwarf start where you need to clear the mine 😆 the mod is hard as fudge.
Yeah it's hard even on easy. Made a 3 part guide to perisno on my channel for how to play the mod, if you grow tired of punishing yourself 😄

Hi. If you mean multiplayer (online) or single player (offline) then all mods unless specified are primarily offline. Though some mods have a multiplayer option, which is typically battle maps like any online shooter: fight, die, respawn. 1860s america for instance has a MP option though i dont know if anybody is playing these days.
As for storage, mods are pretty like, usually around 1 gb. Biggest i've seen was 3-4 gb. If you need help on how to install, i made a video for that, link in the description.

Why does this types of mods does not appear in bannerlord
Bannerlord is a much bigger, heavier game. There is a WIP game of thrones mod, but it's 16 gb in space (compared to 2 gb for warband)
Also bannerlord is still technically in early access, meaning the devs constantly make updates to the game that often make current mods incompatible, so most modders dont bother, at least until the final, more stable version is released.

The black woman is the beautiful, powerful Skylar! Strong, but also funny, she fights for the underdog... and kicks ass in every situation!
Any game that allows me to create my own character has seen Skylar for a while, including in Bannerlord, XCOM 2, State of Decay 2 and Fallout 4.
It's also my GF's spiritual alter ego, from whom I was inspired. 😄

How do you play perisno? I tried to play it again recently, but it seems to have become hideously difficult. i tried to help a village, and they were attacked by an immense army of "doomknight". Even thought i had just started playing and i had like 4-5 militia and some mounted dude i had rescued from bandits.I also tried to help against the rebellion of a local village noble, but he also had an immense army of elite unit, it was ridiculous and unbelievable too because his army was larger and more elite than the army of all the giants lord, why doesn't he just take over the kingdom??
Thing is, I tend to bypass the grind of leveling up by cheating my way to level 62 right away 😂
That said, yeah, Perisno can be ridiculous, so you gotta be careful to choose your battles, especially early on. I just wish party size limit would increase faster, like in Brytenwalda when you can pay bards to increase your renown.
@@TerryDuke I mean, i tried to do what is considered to be beginners missions. Maybe i should focus on trading and upgrading the trader cart?

@@blahblah7720 unlike most mods, in Perisno you really have to read what the quest-giver says. Sometimes it is some paltry bandits, other times it is a nightmare.
But, as Terry Duke says... cheats can be your best friend. (Though, I tend to abuse the export/import feature, myself)

The Warsword Conquest mod is my favorite, but unfortunately for some reason it was lagging a lot when I downloaded it with Winrar and below it showed that the mod really won't work without using Warband Script Extender

@@TerryDuke Thank you for your help. I have two more questions. The website said to use 7-Zip instead of WinRar. The only problem with this is that my computer doesn't want to install it for some reason, or at least when I thought it was successful, the Warsword Conquest file didn't open and displayed an error, so I couldn't put it in the Modules. How did it work for you and if with 7-Zip, can you send me a link where I can download it?

@@TerryDuke perhaps you can start by explaining several character builds, pros/cons of each races, best troops from each factions, overall best faction to join, important quests, etc. There was a guide for perisno created by hit point inn gaming, but it's outdated so I'm hoping if you could share some guide for us.

Each mod keeps its own saves, you don't have to worry about one mod messing up another.

@@dxzor9209 as i mentionned before, i cheat my way to level 62 virtually all the time. If i'm playing the got mod, it's to experience it at the fullest, not struggle with the difficulty.
Keep that in mind cause perisno is hardcore too 😂

It just wasnt one of my favorites I guess, but given how many people have mentionned it, I should probably give it another try, it's been while.

@@ogaburan Well now I'm just getting more curious 🙄 Thing is, I wasn't exploring mods when I made this video, I was replaying my favorite mods from years ago and ranking them.
I did play Pendor a bit, but at the time I was on a potatoe PC and this mod crashed A LOT. So it didn't really occur to me to re-visit it for this video.
But times change, so do computers. I have a much better one now, so seeing how many people have been praising it, I should probably check it out in the future.
@@TerryDuke played both Pendor and Perisno recently (I prefer Perisno as well, but the latest update made it so I couldn't load my save game so I left in frustration)
Neither had crashing problems.
(Note, I use steam workshop, so it is possible that takes care of any possible conflicts)
@@rhoetusochten4211 Using steam workshop for mod installs is exactly the thing that will end up corrupting your save files, the mods will update on their own without your knowledge and boom your save is useless.
