  • This is a 25,000 mile long term update on my 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid pickup truck. I also wanted to thank Megaohm Motorsports for the fuel door fix on these new F-150's. I will also have a MPG video coming soon talking about how it has performed over the life of the truck in the coming weeks.

The first tie mine broke I'd had the truck for a few weeks. NJ prohibits self-filling vehicles and a careless attendant knocked it off with the hose handle. It could not be found. It took months before I abandoned my dealership, ordered a replacement online from Lakeside Ford in Florida (and it's more than the door - it's the whole assembly), and took the part to another Ford dealership who charged me $340 to install it because it was broken by someone and uncovered. So I'm out $500 and a dealership. I bought this as soon as I could - finding the one in the replacement assembly already loose and ready to fail when I went to install it. Now it's solid as a rock and has been ever since. They did it the way Ford should have in the first place.

I bought a 2021 f150 platinum powerboost and despised that thing. The transmission is a disaster no matter how many times they reflash it or say “it’s a learning transmission, give it time!”
Traded it in for the new Sierra duramax and couldn’t be happier even though it has less bells and whistles. Drives WAY smoother. Less body rocking, way better MPG, smoother transmission even though it’s technically the same one in the ford. Way less issues too. I had a TON of stupid little problems with my f150

      Bob,
I just installed the bilstein adjustable 5100’s on my 22 powerboost. No issues at all with install I chose to use the 1.5” setting and with the heavier truck I got about 1-1/4” of lift. There is a bracket on the passenger side that needs to be moved (bent) up out of the way to get to one of the strut mount nuts. If you have either a 3/4” or 18mm gear ratchet, its a piece of cake. Ride is much more composed with the bilsteins at all four corners.

A 60k plus truck with a plastic pin for the fuel door, back not so long ago when trucks were half this price, that same part most likely would've been made out of metal, which wouldn't have broken to begin with, strange how double the price equates to less quality.

CAUTION: 1. If you make a diy repair to your vehicle while it's under warranty...that part...potentially...is no longer under warranty.
    2. If you disable stock/oem/required/mandated safety equipment on a vehicle, YOU have taken on FULL liability for any issues that arise. If you hit someone or hit another vehicle or if a vehicle hits you while in reverse, you are mega-liable, AND your insurance may not cover the incident as you willingly disabled a safety device.

Seems like a promo video by the producer for a product likely paid for

lol it’s WAY easier to accuse me of lying than it is to go and watch all of my videos on this truck which are still live today sharing the absolutely MISERY I had in the early days. Obviously a giant brand would pay me sacks of cash for one positive video without stipulation to remove the older negative ones right? Ohhhh the beautiful people of the internet. Be better Rick.

You can’t get to 100,000 without first passing 25,000. Part of a long term review is sharing the intervals of getting there and all of the problems as they happen. With the overwhelming majority of TH-cam content being created on low mileage press fleets, or one year of ownership before flipping for tax write offs, 25,000 miles is as unheard of as a million.

@@GearsGadgetsagreed! Don’t listen to mindless idiots and continue letting us know your experience. I want a 3.5 Powerboost but I’m waiting to see if Ford has remedied their timing chain/phazer issues on these 6 cylinder engines.

Come on 25000 miles ? It should be perfect . Talk to me at 125000. They are overpriced turds . I’ve owned them for 20 years . My current 2020 is the last Ford for me . Absolute junk and shitty warranty

What would you get instead now to replace your current?
