Wow! I looked up Karen Briggs & she went to my University Norfolk State. I even remember seeing this girl playing on campus with this group in a impromptu performance & saying wow who is this? She can play! Now after 40 years I find out! So proud she went on to bigger & better things.
I went to Norfolk State & remember seeing you play & wondered who the heck is this? My wife introduced me to our because she's a big Yanni fan. Little did I know you went to NSU! I was a mass com major. Class of 82. So proud of you!
Such a fantastic experience capturing the musical genius of Jason Miles, Jeff Coffin, Karen Briggs, Theo Croker, Shaun Martin, Gerald Veasley, Carter Beauford, & Mino Cinelu ; Musical Geniuses ALL !
Karen, I'd love to see you collaborate with Dr. L. Subramaniam, brother of L. Shanker (from John McLaughlin's Shakti). Now that would be a superb adventure in music.
Karen Briggs on violin is incredible . the recording though puts here virtuoso too much in the background . casper mikltoast isn't bad on the front keyboards . it is a different take on wr's elegant people but i still like both . maybe elegant people was written first with this sort of arrangement and later wr did their own version....whatever
this is an excellent performance . does anyone have a better recording like every instrument like in your room with less echo or reverb ? that sax is great but it dominates and seems kinda cacophonous= noisy
It sure ain’t Joe, Wayne, Jaco etc. Ig you can’t do it better than the original… don’t do it. Compose and play your own music. No disrespect to these musicians. But NO way you can reach the level of Weather Report. Do your own thing like they did
Woowwwwww. Amazing!!
I just love my Sista on the violin, a true master, a rare find😲🤨🤔😎

Such elegant complexity
Wow! So good!
I truly loved every note and rest.♥️
Drums are bangin' and the shit be poppin!!
I just love anytime Karen solos!
As a matter of fact, the whole group, the same genre as Snarky Puppy and Weather Report, as well, progressive in a very positive way😎
I know this guy for the marvelous job he did on synthesizers in Luther Vandross albums
As good as Coffin is, he cannot measure up to the Wayne. I don't think anybody can
Great Sax-Solo!
OMG ! Ms Briggs, are you kidding me ?! HOLY CRAP !!!!!!
Jim Coffin is killing it. Miss Karen too.
Jeff ALWAYS kills it.. Dude is 007

Medium funky rythmn.
Only thing missing is John McLaughlin, has a Mahavishnu quality to it, bravo Karen, etc.
Jeff Coffin, get DMB to let Karen Briggs have a go!
Magnífico concierto de musica celta.

I like this version. But the original is better.

Great performance, LOUSY RECORDING!!!!!!! So sad.
I dont like the violin!!!!!
I thought the drummer got in the way of plenty of good playing once the tune got going.

Excellent skills of the performers but I didn't like their performance..... sorry.
