I grew up (summers) going to St. Patrick's. This beautiful church is a perfect tribute to the amazing faith of the Irish community. As I recall, Alice Dineen also donated the recorded bells that rang out during the day. It is definitely time to go back and visit. Thank you for the great tour!
In the 1970s, they left the bells on all winter, and the machine often was affected by the cold - it sounded like you were listening to them in a slow-motion movie. It was funny, but my parents & I were the only ones to hear them (the Church is closed in winter). My friends & I joked about switching out the tape of bells with "real" music (classic rock), but I doubt they made those big reel-to-reel tapes with any music I liked.
I grew up at the house next to the rectory; it had been in my family since it was built. I recently sold it to retire in a less expensive & warmer part of the nation, but I had been delighted to see younger priests bringing much-needed energy to the Church - even cleaning up decades of scrubby overgrowth along the salt marsh, which collected trash that floated in on the tide. The roses by the statue & lilacs along the Church are stunning every summer, and the church itself is a masterpiece of architecture and ambiance, regardless of your religious affiliation.
Loved this video and seeing St. Patrick’s Church! Beautiful! I like the hardwood floors in the church. The statue outdoors is so beautiful! Thank you for putting this video together. (Brenda)
Great job Father Josh. You are so right when you say that being Catholic you can almost always find a place to enjoy Mass on vacation. I love old churches and enjoyed your tour of St Patrick's very much. Hope to see you at St Ignatius Parish soon!
Great video Father, job well done. Please consider coming over to the far western side of the diocese - Claremont to visit the FIRST Catholic church in New Hampshire, Old St. Mary's.
So fun! Please consider a visit to the church and school campus of St. Joseph, here in Salem. Our beautiful stone St. Joseph church and large campus of St. Joseph Regional Catholic School. We are only one mile from exit 2, off Interstate 93. Safe travels!

I love this! Father Josh makes me smile and I loved going on the road trip with him. St Patrick’s Church is amazing. The beams!
I hope you come to the Immaculate Conception Church in Portsmouth. I has a great history and Father Gary has done a terrific job with the renovation.
I really enjoyed this, what a great idea! Good production too!
Father Jalbert is a truly devout priest. I couldn't help but laugh at the kneelers set in front of the functional altar rail.
