I was broughtup as a catholic and dragged to church every single sunday and holy novena as a child in the 80's and early 90's here in Ireland by my parents. I did not enjoy a second of it and once I left home I completely abandoned God. Since the pandemic my faith has risen exponentially to a point I refuse to miss mass for any reason and I have been forgiven all of my sins and i walk with Our lord and strive not to sin again! And I thank my parents every time I see them for bringing me up in the faith whereby My own relationship with my Father has been healed exponentially through our faith in Christ.

God want to save them, seeking the truth. What's the truth,? Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. That's the word of God not mine. Read the Bible. God said, in Levitucus 26:1- Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in you land, to bow unto it: for I am the LORD your." Isaiah 42:8- I am the Lord: that is my name: and ny glory will not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Means don't worship any mary statue ,saints statue graven image. Don't venerate all statue that's is idolatry. Jesus is a living God. He's not made of stone or hand made.. Jesus did not teach to worship Mary statue or any image. Not stated in holy Scripture. Jesus commanded his followers to separate church and state (i.e. secular government) for a reason, actually multiple reasons, but part of that has to do with Free Will which is explained succinctly in the parable of the Prodigal Son: God wants each of us to find our way to him, via our own experience, via our own volition. Love cannot manifest in the absence of free will. If you want to conflate religion and politics, and eliminate free will, you are in the wrong religion, if you want to conflate religion and politics and eliminate free will you need to become a Muslim, because that is the very definition of Islam.
A premise of Christianity is: that death is not the final experience.
The essence of Christianity is: God created us with enough free will to not choose him. One of the first things we did was not choose him. Because of that we are broken, and our relationship with God is broken, and because death is not the final experience, we are bedamned. But God created us, in his own image, so God loves us. Because he loves us, God doesn't want us to be bedamned. So God, as Jesus comes into the world to teach us and to suffer and die, and because death isn't the final experience, resurrected, and thereby provide us a way, a path back to God WITHOUT US LOSING OUR FREEDOM, OUR FREE WILL.
There was another way for God to save us: take away our free will.
If God had taken away our free will then we'd never not choose him, never be broken and never bedamned and Jesus would not have had to come and live, suffer and die for us.
But Jesus thought our salvation in the context of our free will was so important that he rather die, surrender his life, than take away our free will.
So what would Jesus do in regard to the CIVIC issue of pro-life versus pro-choice? He'd do what he did. What did he do? He chose our free will over life itself (because death is not the final experience), Choice over Life, not just any life either, but his most precious life. Just something to think about, instead of the political garbage some one blasts you with.

God showed His love for even unborn babies by penalizing those whose carelessness led to these babies’ being miscarried. Reasoning a fortiori we could say: how much more so should there be a penalty when the miscarriage was intended, when the miscarriage was truly an abortion! To say that Christ would be ok with abortion is an abomination.

He wrote that his father was Calpornius and that his grandfather was Potitus and that he lived at Bannavem Taburniae. Scholars aren’t sure of the exact location of Bannavem Taburniae.
I have never, ever heard of St Patrick being described as an “English missionary”. That’s a blatant example of saint appropriation, which is one of the worst kinds of appropriation ever recorded in the BLNADGPW+++ !

Years later, I returned in part because of my ancestors and that I needed something more than consumerism and careerism. I needed Christ and ritual that told and retold the story that is at the essence of my life. I wanted to live out the Beatitudes. I never really heard the Word till I went back and now it affects me palpably. Today I could not live without my faith and feel a tremendous relief when I participate in the life of the Church. @2Uahoj Wrong. Emperor Constantine started the Catholic Church in 313 AD, long after Christ's death and long after Peter who by the way was never a Pope like the Catholics claim. And since he was a recent convert when he legalized Christianity in Rome and started building the church, he didn't understand Christianity very well, and so he took advice from Pagan priests when starting the church, and so many of the practices the Catholic church adopted were originally pagan practices, like lighting of the candles. And these pagan traditions have carried on to this day. The Catholic church is very likely the harlot that the Book of Revelation talks about who spreads her adulteries to all the nations.

This is misleading. The largest immigrant group is Poles who are unabashedly orthodox Roman Catholics. They have saved many of the old Irish parishes from nonexistence. Also parishes are part of the local community, not centralized as are Mega churches.
You don't save souls by encouraging a people to abandon their Christian heritage, the faith of their fathers, by going into their country to compete for members. You encourage it's restoration.
Besides, protestantism introduces divorce and remarriage everywhere it goes. Also birth control.
It started with Luther + Henry VIII in western Europe which now has the most rapidly declining birthrate in Europe and were the first to implement woke policies.
You are preying on people on a people historically invaded and infiltrated by outsiders.

I have seen so many young people there who know ev.thing about their Catholic Religion and yet look for solace in other places cause they are afraid of God. They dont stress enough that Jesus is a tender God, loving and understanding, they must learn that the Lord loves us in our imperfections and that He loves our weaknesses too. Whoever said that the Church should be worshiped? No one. But indeed, Christ established the Church and instituted the Sacraments. It baffles me why most Protestants are so against the idea of the “Church” to the extent of pitting her against Christ in almost every turn they can.
Do they not know that Christ is united to believers, but not merely in an individualistic way? Christ has one bride. All believers are therefore saved together as part of this one body, the bride of Christ. The Church is saved by being united to Christ. Believers are not saved apart from one another, but through being united to the “whole Christ,” namely, his body, the Church. It is covenantal. It is marital. It is familial. It is communal.

    • @sisigs4820
      @sisigs4820 ปีที่แล้ว

@@freda7961 The church is the body of christ described by Paul in the New Testament, it's not the Catholic church. The Catholic church was founded by Emperor Constantine of Rome in 313 AD, long after Christ and Peter, so Peter never could have been the first Pope like the Catholics claim. When Constantine founded it he was only a recent convert to Christianity, and so was not very knowledgeable about Christian values as a whole, so when he founded it he took advice from Pagan priests and influencers. This is why many of the traditions the Catholic church has such as lighting the candles, are of Pagan origins and it's why most protestants are not following them. Protestants are not against the church, or at least the Catholics made up definition of "Church" the protestants understand that the Church is the body of believers in Christ.

When Ireland joined the EU, there was a lot pressure put on them to get with the times, so to speak. But, Dale Hurd needs to get out of Dublin. Dublin is a cosmopolitan big city, but Ireland is still VERY Catholic. It runs DEEP in the veins. Evangelicals are a small, small part of the population. There are still a smattering of Methodists, Baptists, and others even LDS. Mr. Hurd's report was good, but very incomplete. He need to take a trip to Knock Shrine, Croagh Patrick, and Galway.

I believe in respect for Mary because she was his mother but we are to worship Jesus. He is the only way. Your relationship and salvation is between you and the Lord. Not a priest. When they say “forgive me father for I have sinned” when they are talking to a priest it’s wrong they cannot forgive you. They have no control over your salvation. There is so much more. Please seek Jesus. He is the light, truth, life, and the only way.

We as Catholics can be certain that we don't worship Mary because we don't sacrifice to her. Only the mass is a sacrifice to God the Father through the Son and the Spirit. We ask Mary for help, but that is not worship because there is no sacrifice.
I know it's hard to see the difference as a protestant, but that's because you guys (mostly) don't celebrate the Eucharist and only worship with your voice.

Catholicism in Ireland was extremely legalistic and I think it's a relief that that kind of Catholicism is dying. It's good to hear that Ireland is accepting true Christianity, with gifts and the Holy Spirit, and I pray Jesus has it spread through Ireland like wild fire!! I have two old cd's by Robin Mark, from around 2000. He was trying to light the fire in Northern Ireland back then.

What is happening in Ireland is happening all over the world. Now that Ireland is a prosperous nation, it has become secular. It is, however, unfortunate that these churches are being demolished because they are, if nothing else, part of Ireland's culture. So by becoming more secular, the Irish are destroying part of their own culture.
