Join Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum as they revisit the ‘Butterfly Effect’ meets ‘Final Destination’ meets Smallville episode in Season 3 Episode 12: HEREAFTER! After Michael gets over some of the hair and makeup decision in this episode he reflects on the amount of Lana’s friends who end up dying and what he wishes Clark did when Jonathan Kent collapsed in the barn. Tom remembers how dangerous the dynamite-laced house was, the pressure of keeping the WB appearances up, and how he prepared for his emotional scene at the end. One of those weeks where the pod is better than the episode? Hope you dig it.

Clark was in shock, probably super shock
Omg, when Michael does that totally on point overreaction -- I laughed so hard, I am tearing up 🤣
Michael’s reaction to the scene was so funny 😂 love it 😍
Tom is starting to look like Kingdom Come Superman.
I was thinking the same thing as Michael, actually. But this scene aslo highlights how the guy who everybody sees as superman is also just a kid and emotionally needs his parents like everybody else. It was very touching to discover this perspective.
These glasses and headphones on Tom make me think he’s heading down to the gun range
Lol! That is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I watched that episode! I was so caught up in the scene and I thought OMG Johnathan is dying! Well good thing Clark is there because he can get him to the hospital in the blink of an eye… but then he didn’t do that and I remember yelling at the television screen, “Get him to the hospital Clark!!!”
Superman can go so fast he can turn back time. However being Jonathan Kent just signed a huge life insurance policy he will call an ambulance...after he calls for Mom.
Johnson kent's death It's always a major emotional point in the comics, Like for example johnston had his heart attack In front of Martha and she was screaming clark's name because he had superhero, and he was superman at this point, She kept screaming her son's name, and he was halfway around the world. At this point, He tried his best to make it. He was halfway around the world at this point doing something He tries his best to get there trot and makes it. But it was too late and jonathan's already gone so sad😢
Bruh I love smallville😭😭😭😭😭
😂 Michael cracks me up.
The Flash telling Superman to use his powers
Clark was in shock. Thats why he didnt think to use his powers because he felt vulnerable. And plus...wouldnt super speed hurt Pa Kent's heart even more???
Clark does it to multiple people throughout the show, so him not doing it here at all makes no sense. I understand not right away because it's his dad, but once he clears his head he should have done it. So I'm totally with Michael on this.
@@Soldier4USA2005 I see what you mean, but also remember, Jonathan's heart failure is the result of his exposure to Kryptonian abilities. It weakened his body and as a a result, is why I believe he and his heart wouldn't survive clarks run to the hospital.
@@JimmyXWolvie The exposure was from having them, which was stupid. If he had the abilities ... he would also have had the strength and durability.
A moment where the writing made no sense, due to going all crazy with rewriting the canon.
@@Soldier4USA2005 Idk man, it made sense to me. (Sigh) too bad we disagree on this, but in the end I gotta respect your opinion and hope you have a good day. ✌
@@Soldier4USA2005Think of it like the infinity gauntlet in Endgame, Tony had all that power and his life gave out with one snap. Humans can’t handle alien shit. Hell, Lex loses his hand in the comics because he had a space rock ring.
Jonathan Kent's death was so real for me I could feel Clark's pain. The Kent family wasn't the same when he died. The show was still good but definitely left a hole. John Schneider played that character so well. And I grew up on Dukes of Hazard in the 70s too. Both great shows!❤❤❤
I love y'all can't wait till y'all cover season 4
Hi guys. I grew up watching your series and it influenced me quite significantly. Thank you for your amazing acting, for being you.
I apologize for my bad English. from Russia with gratitude.
Finally got Tom W to keep the CK glasses on 😅
I did notice that
I just finished that episode
I'm doing a Smallville marathon
I'm glad you all have this podcast
Smallville has been my favorite show forever
I wish they would have used this cast on the new Lois and Clark on cw
Finally, no cap on your head, Tom! 👌
I can relate that was my reaction when he kept calling his mom i was like goooo superspeed your dad to the hospital 😂
The scene in the barn as Jonathan collapsed, Clark is a teenager and was shocked so dearly, that he shouted after his mam! He didn’t thought about his abilities. AHOTS! 🖖💖
😂😂😂 Michael you’re amazing!!! And I agree with you!😂😂😂😂
No trying to read to much into this and trying to be deep or anything but that kinda makes sense to me. Clark is really human in Smallville, more human than a lot of other supermen, and most of the way he thinks is humanlike, especially when it comes to his family cause it's really them that gave that humanity to him. Yes, he uses his powers since he was a kid but that's not who he is yet, he is Jonathan and Martha's son. He reacts as such.
Man Micheal has me howling 😂😂
What i like about TalkVille is that you emphase details that we haven’t paid attention to 😊 Jonathan ’s attack required emergency workers but Clark was overcome with emotion but with Michael there was not at all 😂 ! You ’re the best guys, you’ve changed Wednesday !! 👏👏
Even Tom is blown away at the logic missed by Clark lol
Jonathan has spent his life trying to keep Clark's abilities hidden. If Clark were somehow noticed or found out, Jonathan would feel 10X worse, on top of the heart attack. Clark did what he had been taught to do. (IMO)
I thought the same thing, but figured there was a reason
♥️♥️♥️
Yeah, Clark dropped the ball on that one.
Clark: Mom!! Come quick!!
Martha: Clark!! Pick him up and use your super speed and take him to the hospital!!
Clark: Oh yeah!! I totally forgot!!
(Clark speeds off to the hospital, carrying Johnathan…comes back..picks up one of the cookies that’s still on the plate-speeds off again while still carrying Johnathan.)
I always felt bad for the cookies.
I thought the exact same thing lol pick him up and zoom him to the hospital
THE COOKIES...!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Use your heat vision to melt the block in the heart artery.
Clever, but I don't think season 3 clark would even know how to do that. Maybe season 9 or 10 version of him.
Not really. Clark would also have to burn through the skin in Jonathan's chest to get to the heart artery THEN freeze them both with his cold breath. Surgical skills. I wonder just how much people who are watching this show know.@@JimmyXWolvie
Agreed. Annette’s head turning was a bit weird..
I love how Michael always says "God blessed" like it's a swear! 😂 Keeping it PG for the kids, I see. 👍 Oh and if it's any consolation to the other guys, I was most bothered by the slow motion cookie drop. I am bothered any time that delicious cookies are ruined for dramatic effect! Just sayin'! 🤷♀️
Yeah I understand that’s the logical decision but he was having an emotional response. So wasn’t thinking. And was not thinking. Clearly
I don't remember that episode
Hahahaha
Hilarious
Uh yeah but that would kinda ruin any chance for real drama. I know Michael is just being funny and trying to lighten the mood though.
Clark is super shock too speed carry jonathan I guess fearing his speed would kill jonathan in second🫀✴️❗if he did..🤷
To be fare I thought the same thing... really the same in most shows. Why are you standing there talking, there is a pressing matter at hand.
