This show is doing the best Superman in a long time. Great at showing his powers and I love them showing he gets angry and wants to lash out. That his being the good guy is a choice. Also the way it is doing human drama is better than most shows.
Something about this show makes it feel so not like cw. It could just be that they are not forcing it inside the arrowverse and just allowing it to be it’s own thing with the occasional reference. It just feels unique from their other properties and it makes this show so good. And of course the quality is also really good.
I agree, I'm still looking forward to Diggle showing up later in the season and interacting with the characters but after that I hope they keep the crossovers to a very small minimal

I think the difference is the writing is excellent, the drama doesn’t feel forced, people don’t act dumb and out of character just to move a plot point forward.
Strong return. Glad the show is letting both married couples have good and interesting relationship issues. This show has a really interesting balance between all aspects of different relationships, mystery and superhero stuff.
I think the reason Tyler's Superman works so well is because this version of the character effortesly embodies aspects from some of the bestt and most iconic portrayals on live action, while also standing on its own merit. I mean, i can see Christopher Reeves's demeanor and some of Tom Welling's charisma, but also, some of Henry Cavill's intensity in Tlyler's portrayal .

You are saying the exact same things about Jonathan that I feel. Jonathan is like the older, wiser brother but he keeps getting the short end of the stick! It’s like Jordan doesn’t get it. I was glad that Clark unloaded on Jordan. He had it coming. I have to remind myself that Jordan is a child, so he isn’t going to act the way I want him to, but at some point he has to start taking this seriously! I also thought that Jonathan’s power kicked in when he stopped Jordan’s punch. I was like “YES!”. Hopefully, he heals quickly and that means he’s also getting them. We shall see...
I think his powers did kick in. Jordan’s punch was very powerful, and if he had punched the metropolis guy he would’ve shattered his jaw or something. The fact that Jonathan only got a broken arm shows promise.

You have to keep in mind that Jordan has social anxiety disorder, and this is apparently the happiest he's ever been according to Jonathan, making friends for the first time. It's easy to feel like that's not important as well adjusted adults, and to feel as though Jordan is using his powers superficially, but from his perspective they're completely changing his life.
I felt so bad for Jordan struggling with his powers, even though it was badass how Clark tanked that heat vision blast to the hand on the football field. I still think Lois' dad is a major dick for how he treats Clark for telling his kids his secret. He couldn't keep that part of his life secret forever.
He had to tell them. They're old enough to deal with that. I was thinking maybe Jordan's powers manifested shortly after he told them. Maybe a subconscious trigger?
@@Omn1Media There are some pretty important scenes. In an earlier episode the broadcast version didn't show a scene where Clark and General Lane discuss the army having Kryptonite, which would lead into this episode. It's very minor moments, but they do add some stuff

There was a scene they cut in the T.V version when it aired. That was why there was just a drastic cut. The scene shows Sarah telling them nothing happened and Superman making sure that Tag was not in cuffs.
Ah makes sense. I always watch their shows on the CW app so I get the extended cuts. Of course this is the only show of theirs that do that for some reason. I didn’t notice that cut but that is because they had the removed scene their.

@@Omn1Media It is totally understandable. I wouldn't either. I think the scene serves just to show more of Superman's heart as he is trying to keep his promise to Tag. Also it is likely we will see Tag again. One of the people behind the show said we will see the school for people with powers in season 2

Or did I misread what happened there. Was a great scene anyways. Also really liked the part where Clark let Jordan heatblast into his hands to get it out.
So this means X kryptonite is from another alternate earth that merged with earth prime. Which also means that just like captain luthor knows what it is. That Morgan Edge is from an alternate earth as well and is possibly aware that he is from one.
Every episode there is usually one scene or piece of dialogue that shows me the writers really truly know who Superman is and how to write him. This episode it was his Trust speech to Jordan. The idea that he always has to be mindful of his powers not only because of the harm to others but because he could lose the public trust in him is such a Clark thing. It's why he very rarely if ever goes to 11 when using his powers no matter how powerful the enemy, because he is mindful of the collateral damage and fear it would inspire.
If the players started beating up a player they would definitely be ejected from the game. Since the game just ended that not really a punishment which is why they did it. In high school football I’d imagine there would be some ramifications from the school as well.

So if you watch the show on the CW website the day after the episodes release you can watch the extended cuts of the episodes. That moment where you mentioned a quick cut, there was actually some more there. It wasn't important stuff, but it did make the cut far less jarring.

I think that implies the costume is made from the same material Supergirl's is since hers heals too

I was under the impression that Jonathan used Super Speed to get his hand in fast enough to block Jordan's punch.
It does kind of look like that might be an option just no durability, the way it’s shot it’s so hard to tell!
