My favourite thing about this show is that they don’t write anybody to be stupid, not the people of smallville especially not in this episode and not any of the leads it’s amazing!
The red light was not red kryptonite which changes Clark's personality. The street lights was solar red energy which creates a similar effect as the Kryptonian Sun. The Red sun irradiate Kryptonian cells making kryptonians human it also nullifies any kryptonite so any kryptonite weapons lex would have had on him would have became useless.
Ah, now it makes more sense. Which proves that Kryptonite and Magic aren't the only ways to take down Superman, you just have the means to take away solar energy from the surrounding area and drain his preserves.
Another Superman weakness that isn't talked about is radiation like the fact one nuclear bomb can take Superman down when a character like Thor can take dozens of explosions simultaneously. Also the thing that gives Superman his powers the yellow sun would also kill him from too much exposure when characters like Captain marvel can fly into it and survive. Yet Superman is considered more powerful than both of these examples I brought up. One more weakness Superman has but both the other two characters I brought up don't have is the fact Superman can't breathe in space in some interpretations of the character.
Lex's totally misguided projection with "Now they know who you really are!" says so much about him. Because his daughter sees him as a monster (rightly so, but he _can't_ accept that), he assumes that it will play out the same way for Clark - but it doesn't, because his family _does_ know him, and understands _why_ that fight was happening. Man I love this show, I'm going to miss it.
I'm low-key upset that no one clocked the line "Lex Luthor tried to kill me over a land deal?" which is a brilliant 'tip of the hat' cause that is so on-brand with Donner's Luthor and his obsession with real estate plays
Even a power downgraded Clark has the fighting skills he's built up over 20 years of taking down enemies, many of which were super powered themselves. Lex was not expecting that! Red sun only depowers Clark to a human, it ain't like green kryptonite which actually makes him weaker than a human
Adam idk why you literally always do this but red light does not equal red kryptonite. Red Kryptonite does. Red light equals red sun, the thing that drains superman of his powers. You genuinely leap to kryptonite every single time my guy XD
I haven’t watched the series, but from what I’m seeing especially in this episode, I am getting the impression that the town knows he’s Superman, but they’re just keeping quiet about it to protect him
It's definitely cool to see the shift for Superman - he went from literally flying into the sun and splitting planets/realities apart to not being able to hear and turning gray and weaker. It's a big shift for him, and it's definitely compelling.
For a criminal mastermind, Luthor's a lunkhead for thinking it was smart to tick off someone with a history of going head first into overwhelming odds, including Doomsday which he created.
I absolutely love this episode, that Lex vs Clark fight was awesome, I was worried they were gonna do Clark dirty like in the Superman 2 diner fight but even powerless he wrecked Lex, that fight might be my second favorite scene of the series just behind the diner scene last season, should be an interesting final 4 episodes.
Man Superman media has needed this for so long 🔥🔥🔥! Just allowing Clark to aggro fight someone who has the audacity to assume that he's a useless combatant without his powers 😂😭💀. Whether or not Batman and Wonder Woman exist in this canon, it's always a fact that Clark is still an expert hand to hand martial artist! Also that kick to the head from Lex is an amazing callback to his fight with Steel in season 1!!!
@PatrickRockwell24 Well in most canon, Clark has trained extensively at the Fortress to be precise with his combat skills when facing any enemy type, with or without powers. In most realities he's also trained with most of the members of the Justice league in some capacity. In an even match he may not be able to beat Batman but he'd definitely make it way more trouble than it's worth. Not to mention he's been trained at times by either Darkseid when brainwashed or General Zod when they're stuck together somewhere. Batman only ranks higher on raw martial arts because everyone that matches us barely (Bane, Lady Shiva) or outranks him because of age (Wonder Woman, Ra's Al Ghul, Black Adam). The greatest hand to hand fighter in DC btw is by a huge margin Karate Kid from the Legion of Superheroes. Because he has all of the martial arts knowledge in human history to that point downloaded onto his DNA.
Again, if they could recreate the father son kamehameha that goku does with his two sons, and have Clark use his lasers alongside his two sons, would be fire
It’s not red kryptonite. It’s red light … like the red sun of Krypton. In this show, the red light immediately takes away a Kryptonian’s powers and then they are like a human. When they get away from the red light, the powers just come back. It shouldn’t work; but it’s an established plot device in this show.
One of you mentioned that you were all 55..... that can't be true.... you at the oldest look 42.... I'm crying my old looking ass to sleep.... I hope Lex comes to your house in his super- suit ❤❤❤❤
Hey guys from the UK. Just a couple of things all superman related. So the red lamps are not red kryponite!. It's the red sun of krypton's radiation that's being eminated from the lamps. You mentioned Clark crushing the glass, and make a diamond?. Think your referring to Christopher reeves superman crushing coal to make a diamond 💎. Glass couldn't work. If you would like anything else clearing up from the series or films drop me a line. I'm like the lexicon of all things super related.
Haha, I love that you guys said go to Prague Adam, as would you believe or not, that's where my sister is studying abroad as well, currently 😂 Another awesome reaction you three.
The only thing i didn't like about this episode was the music during the fight, not because i don't like that style of music but because I thought the scene would have been better with no music at all but instead, just the sound of them fighting with the rain/thunder and lightening in the background. Still a Great ep though 👍👏
So speaking of suits, and if they’re not necessary, going to go traditional Lex Luther battle armor, I do know that I really liked the EXO suit that the atom had on legends of tomorrow
@PatrickRockwell24 he wasn't telling him to do something else with his life he was telling him to go out and do the very thing he was giving him a hard time about in the first place.
Clark was starting to feel more and more powerless after he died and came back, so him going after Lex was him trying to regain some power, some control. Misguided, but completely understandable motivation.
Has anyone watched superman vs doomsday where lex lures superman into a room with red solar lamps and then beats him up, well this scene is similar and those lights are red solar not red kryptonite if it was red kryptonite his behaviour would have changed even if he was weakened!
Heres mu prediction. Doomsday is still on the loose. I have a feeling considering this is the final season, whats a good way to end it with the Justice League?

Red kryponite only changed Clarks personality in smallville.
@@thomasthorburn2751 nope. It also changes it in the comics. It was even a thing back in the old Superman and lois series.
Steele used the exact same tactic in the first season against Superman

Right?? 😂
*Lex burns picture of his daughter.
*Also Lex, “How could Lois Lane do this?”
Even a power downgraded Clark has the fighting skills he's built up over 20 years of taking down enemies, many of which were super powered themselves. Lex was not expecting that! Red sun only depowers Clark to a human, it ain't like green kryptonite which actually makes him weaker than a human
You know your are screwed when Superman starts doing the Batman voice....
Adam idk why you literally always do this but red light does not equal red kryptonite. Red Kryptonite does. Red light equals red sun, the thing that drains superman of his powers. You genuinely leap to kryptonite every single time my guy XD
Clark beating the crap outta Lex was so satisfying.
I haven’t watched the series, but from what I’m seeing especially in this episode, I am getting the impression that the town knows he’s Superman, but they’re just keeping quiet about it to protect him
Best Episode of the series! That fight was insane!!! Clark turned into Batman for a sec! CRAZY!!! 🔥🔥🔥😤😤😤
It's definitely cool to see the shift for Superman - he went from literally flying into the sun and splitting planets/realities apart to not being able to hear and turning gray and weaker. It's a big shift for him, and it's definitely compelling.
Guys, it’s not red Kryptonite. It’s red solar energy, which cancels the powers that Superman gets from the yellow sun.
You guys were all talking over the part where Lana said that Sophie was spending a couple of nights with her father -- that's how you missed it.
Thats not red kryptonite, red kryptonite makes kryptonians evil or angry, this are red solar lamps which negates kryptonians powers.
The streetlights weren't generating red Kryptonite, but red solar radiation...
16:39 It's 100% up to Lana. She's her mother and Sarah is 16 years old.
I just love that they don't have to use SUPERMAN to defeat Luthor. They use the common sense of humans which so many shows don't ever portray.
The fight was my official application for Tyler Hoechlin to be the DCU’s Batman.
For a criminal mastermind, Luthor's a lunkhead for thinking it was smart to tick off someone with a history of going head first into overwhelming odds, including Doomsday which he created.
The building that Lex was in at the end, looks like the one from the animated series, especially the large windows.

8:40 why did they all take their glasses off and rub their eye hahaha
20:21 I am sorry Mr Loothor I tried to do what you asked me to do Mr Loothor. But the little one attacked me with a bat Mr Loothor.
Again, if they could recreate the father son kamehameha that goku does with his two sons, and have Clark use his lasers alongside his two sons, would be fire
Hector - you know you wanna say it: Luther’s right hand woman can get it 😂
It’s not red kryptonite. It’s red light … like the red sun of Krypton. In this show, the red light immediately takes away a Kryptonian’s powers and then they are like a human. Remember folks a repowered Superman is still 6'3 240lbs farm boy.
Haha, I love that you guys said go to Prague Adam, as would you believe or not, that's where my sister is studying abroad as well, currently 😂
Another awesome reaction you three.
Anybody else think Adam and Agustin look like they could be brothers? Lol
That fight went hard. Clark Kent ftw!
Unfortunately they had to cut the budget, which meant less recurring actors. Still nicely written, but would've been nice to see them often.

MY GOD,
Imagine if it was kyle and clark beating up Lex, I would have totally flipped from Marvel
Clark, Kyke and John Henry
So speaking of suits, and if they’re not necessary, going to go traditional Lex Luther battle armor, I do know that I really liked the EXO suit that the atom had on legends of tomorrow
Jonathan seriously needs to pick a lane here. First, he gives Jordan a hard time for being a hero. now he's getting on his back for not doing it.
@PatrickRockwell24 he wasn't telling him to do something else with his life he was telling him to go out and do the very thing he was giving him a hard time about in the first place.
@PatrickRockwell24 you were trying to be a hero, and now dad's dead was his exact words.
Stop with the red Kryptonite sheit. It was red sun radiation
Maybe a white over black business suit. But purple and green for the fighting suit
Clark was starting to feel more and more powerless after he died and came back, so him going after Lex was him trying to regain some power, some control. Misguided, but completely understandable motivation.

I absolutely love your reactions so good
Glad you like them!
Red solar radiation, not kryptonite
7:03 - "Fake news" sounds like something an 8-year-old would say.
Red solar light
luthor got his butt whooped by A farm boy ..
LFG which for this show the F stands for Frickin! #SupermanAndLois
Red kryptonite??? Its red solar lights.
wheres the reaction for the next episode???????
@dimithraanton5087 really looking forward to the reaction on this ep!
It's red sunlight not kryptonite
DO NOT DYE THOSE BEARDS! You sexy guys look great with the gray. Love the content guys. Keep up the good work. Love you guys!
So...we thinking that Superman loses his powers by the end of this series and the boys take over protecting the world?
Heres mu prediction. Doomsday is still on the loose. I have a feeling considering this is the final season, whats a good way to end it with the Justice League?
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
WHERE IS EPISODE 7 REACTION
Not red kryptonite. Red sun energy. Makes Superman a human and he has no powers under exposure.
