The cupler shaft receivers teeth are made of aluminium and the oil pans on engines are stamped metal that rust in five years nothing like the 1970 s trs drives with ford 460 v8
i have a sei 116 ratio 1.50. this makes so much noise that the radio has to do louder. the dealer says that this is the case with all sei outdrive. a waste of my purchase and money. I wonder if Sei gives a reatie and a solution. My name . Mulder. from holland.
Shouldn't you use dielectric grease on the dowel pins that align the lower unit with the upper unit? They serve as the bonding conduit (for electron flow) between the two pieces, and I was taught that regular marine grease acts as an insulator and impedes the two pieces from being electrically bonded (grounded) together.
People keep getting this backwards. Dielectric means insulator. If you are trying to insulate surfaces you use dielectric grease. Most regular grease is conductive. Some synthetics are also conductive. What you are trying to achieve is a way to reduce corrosion which is an insulator. A grease that stops corrosion will in effect help conduct electricity. A good example is greasing up a bulb socket to keep the copper from oxidizing from condensed moisture.
On a new SEI Alpha 1 drive, the splined gear rod on the lower unit wants to slip out of FWD gear with the least provocation when installing...How do you keep the unit in gear?
I wish you guys would make a gasket for the transom assy to the transom of the boat the factory transom seal don't seal no good water runs down the studs and is wicked up by the wood in the transom the T R S. Drives and 3 drives had a robust cork and rubber comp gasket and did not have a leaking problem I removed old wore out transom assy T R. That the transom was rock solid to many transom and stringer jobs on late model boats when u .pull of the smaller alpha. Plates and the earlier. Transom assy theirs no protrusion of the fact seal if you make this gasket you will sell a bunch. Check it out!
What is the purpose of the anodes? Mine did not have them when I separated the lower from the upper. Since I assumed they're purpose is only fastening and all of the other hardware was there I didn't bother getting them. I had a failure this weekend boat neutral dropped and stopped.
I love my SEI 116. I used your OMC Cobra conversion and 116.. Could not be happier.
Great products. They stand by warranty very well. Can tell from experience
This guy is the shit he knows his stuff
Did you forget to install the prop anode in this video Phil?
I need to replace the lower unit only on a mercruiser. Will your products fit it? Or do I need a SEI upper unit also?

Hey SEI
Just to make sure the SE 106 takes the alpha1 first gen impeller etc etc
Thanks 🙏
Will a SEI lower unit bolt up correctly with a stock Mercruiser upper unit?

My mechanic said to make sure you save the boxes, so you can send them back when they fail..

If your installing the lower while the upper is still on the boat, trim it up all the way and gravity will keep it in forward.
can that unit be used to replace an alpha 1 gen 1 mercruiser on a 1990 searay 220da

You forgot to put on the bearing carrier anode, before you installed the prop.

se le Olvido intalar una parte antes de intalar las Elices, muy mal y eso que es Profecional.
This company has way too many failures to gamble purchasing one.
aint that nice perfect conditions how about mounting the lower drive up into upper drive this was useless
