So the biggest thing about driving them through a puddle and getting them wet, and using your hose from your house and getting them wet is this, your tapwater has chlorine. That chlorine will Rust your bearings. So get a small filter that you will add to your garden hose. Just look for any filter for RVs or campers.

A good silicone lubricant spray is essential after cleaning. Use the straw tube to get it in the diffs and hubs and anywhere else metal and bearings are then get a small paint brush and spray some on it and go over all the plastic parts and screws and then just let her sit and evaporate any excess silicone lube. Before you run the next time give her a blast with the air hose to clear any excess lube that might be left. Silicone will preserve the bearings and plastics and makes it easier to clean the next time.

I'd put a dust cover mesh on the body. Helps prevent accidental sprays of lubricant/water. They are cheap and I typically use them when bashing anyway as long as it's not too hot. Keeps more of the dust/water and esp bigger lumps of shit out of the body, thus requiring less maintenance on the internals themselves.

I just watched the Xmaxx video on cleaning before seeing the Kraton one, Do you also wd 40 the Kraton and and rinse it down and air hose it again we as the Xmaxx. Also are the fans water resistant too?

I know it’s not an RC car but if anyone’s wondering HOW waterproof these things are, my ProBoat Stealthwake got swamped with water. Everything inside the boat was flooded, water covered literally every component and I was freaking out, I drained it, let it dry and 2 days later it works JUST fine. And this was a $200 brushed boat, the arma Kraton 8s is a $1200 RC car (cad for me) so yah, they be hella waterproof (but obviously don’t flood the damn thing.

    • @pnwRCMADNESS

Hi! They are not really water proof of say. But you need them to be clean otherwise they go to junk. I maintain my Rc rigs to the point they never are done and are always working .
