Ok. I have a nitro powered kyosho and there is grease all over the chassis and shocks. Can o use this method to clean all the grease and oil off of the shocks and chassis?
Great tips. But one thing I feel was overlooked, if you want to keep your cleaning brushes (paint brushes) in shape and lasting a longer time, store them in the package they came in. It's not just a package it is there to store and keep the brush in shape.
3 days ago, I started disassembling and cleaning my 1:8 nitro buggy, today I finished it. Going to take it to a hobby shop to get it checked out, and to get a pull start, buggy wheels, a new body and an antenna tube.
I'm a painter and a rc enthusiast. Big nitro head. I would recommend keeping that black china bristle brush in its keeper. It will help it keep its shape longer. That is if you don't already. Love your videos. They helped me out in more than one occasion.
Muck off makes good products mainly for cleaning mountain bikes, but their mo-94 had a ptfe formula that coats the metals and plastics. makes joints, hinges, bearings and shocks smoother last longer.
My old 1/8th scale routine: simple green, car was, air gun, & wd40. Pretty standard and then I could wash my full size car at the same time! :) Great work!
I have started using tyre shine aerosol spray from the auto parts store. It is essentially just cheap silicone spray. It's only a couple of dollars for a large can.
Here I am using a toothbrush and qtips on my typhon lol. Thank you for the paint brush tip! I used a silicone aerosol spray not wd40 but still the paint brush is absolutely perfect!
I find furniture polish like mr sheen works well to get rid of sticky dust, on loose dusty tracks, the wd40 causes dirt and dust to stick to the car more
So with the simple green do you wash it off with water after your done or just leave it? Personally i just hit it with an air compressor brush of the dirt soak a rag in some of that silicone wd40 and wipe off as much as i can. I used to use simple green but it seems useless now because the silicone wd40 is basically the CLP. Now for the tires i still use simple green for those. Btw great vids i watch them all the time.
Great Video as usual. The WD 40 wont attract more dirt? I guess your wiping it down really good. Have you driven that Tekno EB48.3 yet? Would love to hear your opinion given your driving skills !
I clean my cars the same way with WD40, it lubricates all the hinge pins and ball cups, plus keeps all the screws from rusting during the off season. Bad for the plastic? maybe....but no worse than my driving. I have the SC-1, but it's not my favorite. I have to agree with Ty about the smell. I use the .99 cent Home Depot Brushes. The trick is to cut the bristles in half, it keeps them from getting bushy. If you cut them even shorter they work great for tire sauce.
Good vid like how u explained the steps but I would recommend not using wd40 for one it eats plastic away over time two it is possible that your screws will loosen and 3 the most important is that wd40 will short out electronics so if u really don't care about the plastic getting eaten away and screws loosening then be sure to pull all electronics and allow to dry for 24 hours because u will short out your electronics other than that great video
For those 2 sprays like the WD40 thing, can you use it on a rc car that is not water proof or does it have to be on a waterproof RC? Please answer! Thanks
thanks i will use this for 4x4 Ruckus Monster Truck can you buy the compressed air at hardware store hose i mean or do u have to go to special shop or gas station to clean it with compressed Air??
Jason this video is great! I really enjoy and get a lot of value out of your routine RC videos and how you do things. My cars will look nicer thanks to you.
Thanks for the helpful tips! Can I ask what to lube the chairs parts with, like the ball link, shock mounts...etc. do yo put any oil on the machine after to clean it?
What about all the internals like shocks, transmission and gears, drive shafts, and bearings and the electronics Thant would make a good part 2 to this video
I just got into RC car hobby, and was looking into purchasing a cheap air compressor to help clean and blow away dirt from my RC car body/chassis and electronics after running it through the dirt and mud. There's a cheap 3 gallon, 100psi pancake shape air compressor from Harbor Freight - do you think this is good enough to use? thx
Do you remove all of the electronics when you clean the car? Also, do you clean them in this fashion after every time you run them? Thanks for the video really cool!
Thanks brother very helpful and I like my rides clean!!! Getting them dirty is part of the game but man I see people that never clean their shxx and it drives me crazy.
I used sc1 but found u can get the same results with any old silicone spray which ng is what sc1 is. Lol I now use the Honda Pro Oils silicone spray cuz i can get it cheaper that the sc1 through my local honda motorcycle dealer
Nice vid One thing to add: never never ever apply WD40 onto your brake pads. They'll get softy and wear like a paper-made. Also, Jason, when you plan to post a vid with breakin routine?
I use a vacuum and a mop, pee works well also, lol actually I used a vacuum cleaner called metro-vac to vacuum up loose debris and on the other end of my metro-vac it blows out air which works like compressed air, keeps my car RC cars clean and my work area. the simple green is awesome I used on my RC cars also I use it to degrease my real cars engine bay and it leaves the rubber hoses looking like new. I also use dry lubricant from a company called CRC and I use their electrical contact cleaner too.
I just spray la's totally awesome realy hard all over and especially on suspention and drive drain parts and oh yeah, it makes dirt on tires disappear.
i use wd40 all the time now, especially on the tires, havent really seen anything go bad with the plastic yet... what is the reasons you wouldnt want to use wd40?
I hit my 5th scale with the compressor, then spray it down with simple green and hit it with the hose, then the air compressor. done lol probly shouldn't use the hose but 5th scale gets really dirty. alot of guys don't really even clean there cars, I can't work on a dirty car
Very nice vid, sir. I have to say the first 35 seconds send me in to a trance. Unfortunately I am truly insane now due to my brain going in to screen saver mode. Thumbs up regardless. . ;-)
+Ben Varley That is retail MAP pricing. If you have an old Traxxas brushed motor and ESC you can send it in to Traxxas, or your local Traxxas authorized dealer and do what they call their Power-Up Program. Upon delivery of your old brushed motor and esc (Dont have to be working BTW) you get the Velineon Motor and ESC Combo for $125.00 USD.
Seriously, try making an "all-in-one" cleaner. Use 60% Simple Green, 30% Rubbing Alcohol, and 10% WD-40. Then just dunk a toothbrush in it and get to scrubbing! When you are done, towel off any excess fluid. The rest will dry automatically from the alcohol. It will clean dirt, dust, grease, and oil. It will also brighten the plastics. TRY IT!!!!
WD-40 and other petroleum based lubricants are actually bad for plastics. you may want to try a 100% pure silicone spray instead. works as good or better and won't affect any plastics
I noticed you had to literally take apart your Rc Completely!!!! If I did that I would have to consider my rc broken cause no way I'll be able to put it back together! I am so envious of how you guys know all these things and capable of dissembling assembling and uoragrading your rc. I want to do the same but I'm far from that level. Ugh
You left alot of stuff out. one car had the electronics in and the other didnt. one had no shocks. are you taking all these out. do you get in to the diffs. very lacking
+hallis1 Ok thanks for your response I'm from Denmark and I think I never came across this product here but I have maybe a similar product "Biltema degrees bio" environment friendly but now I know what it is. tusind tak on danish;-);-)
Ya know what I was going through today I was thinking I could come back with a little bit more is a little bit of fun but I don’t want turit eiis err tie was my best time for ya ya know what you mean want you back then yeah yeah that’s why you don’t have any more was a good day I don’t think I can hang out with the girls and we are on a little bit

Sergej Nadaždin took 3 days to clean ? Lol
I'm a painter and a rc enthusiast. Big nitro head. I would recommend keeping that black china bristle brush in its keeper. It will help it keep its shape longer. That is if you don't already. Love your videos. They helped me out in more than one occasion.
Bro...you call that dirty?
My entire chassy and cakes in dirt and mud
What about glass cleaning foam and compressor? Cleaning lady at work uses that for car air wents and it works pretty good
Muck off makes good products mainly for cleaning mountain bikes, but their mo-94 had a ptfe formula that coats the metals and plastics. makes joints, hinges, bearings and shocks smoother last longer.

I have started using tyre shine aerosol spray from the auto parts store. It is essentially just cheap silicone spray. It's only a couple of dollars for a large can.
quick tip. I use dashboard cleaner but the one with silicone in for my motorcycles, it works well and repels water and fine dust. just a thought.
Here I am using a toothbrush and qtips on my typhon lol. Thank you for the paint brush tip! I used a silicone aerosol spray not wd40 but still the paint brush is absolutely perfect!
Great video! do you have any alternatives for simple green? Dont have it here
I find furniture polish like mr sheen works well to get rid of sticky dust, on loose dusty tracks, the wd40 causes dirt and dust to stick to the car more
What's a good compressor to buy? I have a 2 car garage for storage and wouldn't mind being able to use it for power tools and also small paint jobs...
Hey. Can you put a different body on a sct so it does not throw dirt into the truck ?
So with the simple green do you wash it off with water after your done or just leave it? Personally i just hit it with an air compressor brush of the dirt soak a rag in some of that silicone wd40 and wipe off as much as i can. Thanks for the advice!
BLKXJ96 no it doesn't lubricate it actually eats up the oils
Rc robot 2
Right. It really bad for bearings
Awesome ! I used to do the same when I was running my Nitro RS4 From HPI.
Any thoughts on spraying entire car with simple green and then rinsing it off in a laundry tub? Is it ok to get everything wet?
Good vid like how u explained the steps but I would recommend not using wd40 for one it eats plastic away over time two it is possible that your screws will loosen and 3 the most important is that wd40 will short out electronics so if u really don't care about the plastic getting eaten away and screws loosening then be sure to pull all electronics and allow to dry for 24 hours because u will short out your electronics other than that great video

Black Magic Tire Wet works great on the plastics as well...
thanks i will use this for 4x4 Ruckus Monster Truck can you buy the compressed air at hardware store hose i mean or do u have to go to special shop or gas station to clean it with compressed Air??
Rich people have air compressors
Jason this video is great! I really enjoy and get a lot of value out of your routine RC videos and how you do things. My cars will look nicer thanks to you.
What size of a air compressure do you use for cleaning rc cars
Hey man great video on the sc1 you spray it on the brush and apply it? why not on a rag? going to pick some up this weekend.
Great video thanks buddy 👍👊
U are the man 😎
Thanks! I will use this for SCT racing! How well will winded work compared to simple green?
Sc1 been using that for yrs on my sport bike to polish it up now moo rc I think that the name they have some detail stuff for plastic an electronic
I just got into RC car hobby, and was looking into purchasing a cheap air compressor to help clean and blow away dirt from my RC car body/chassis and electronics after running it through the dirt and mud. I'm new to rc, I have a 1/10 . I need all the information I can get! Help!! Thank you.
I heard that brush cry as it went through the saw
Great quick video. Thanks for uploading
Great ideas! I like to use Sprayway glass cleaner on my lexans.... works great! (Also smells good)
That looks like an associated 8.2 to me...are Mugen made by the same company? Even has the XP servo in it.
Hey jason, is the simple green gonna damage the bearings?
Do you remove all of the electronics when you clean the car? Also, do you clean them in this fashion after every time you run them? Thanks for the video really cool!
If the cars are super dirty I'll pull the radio tray and motor.
Thanks brother very helpful and I like my rides clean!!! Getting them dirty is part of the game but man I see people that never clean their shxx and it drives me crazy.
Love Sunday Videos!
after the simple green do u wash it off with water
I work at a paint store you want to ask for a natural bristle or boar hair bristle brush.
I used sc1 but found u can get the same results with any old silicone spray which ng is what sc1 is. Lol I now use the Honda Pro Oils silicone spray cuz i can get it cheaper that the sc1 through my local honda motorcycle dealer
Nice vid
One thing to add: never never ever apply WD40 onto your brake pads. They'll get softy and wear like a paper-made.
Also, Jason, when you plan to post a vid with breakin routine?
Denatured Alcohol works really well too. Especially for electronics, just let it dry before turning your stuff back on.
I was always taught that WD 40 will eventually eat up plastic. I believe it also says on the container should not be sprayed on plastics.
I use a vacuum and a mop, pee works well also, lol actually I used a vacuum cleaner called metro-vac to vacuum up loose debris and on the other end of my metro-vac it blows out air which works like compressed air, keeps my car RC cars clean and my work area. the simple green is awesome I used on my RC cars also I use it to degrease my real cars engine bay and it leaves the rubber hoses looking like new. do you have an emial have a coue questions for you. amazing vids btw
I just spray la's totally awesome realy hard all over and especially on suspention and drive drain parts and oh yeah, it makes dirt on tires disappear.
Aron Pinkham dude stop doing that it’s a degreaser don’t use degreaser stuff cuz u will get the grees out of anything that has it
@@wyattscheerer6469 oh ok wow never thought of that
Aron Pinkham how do u even get it dirty u have a wtoys😂
Thanks for the video. I needed that info.
SC1 is the best stuff ever, used it for years on my dirtbikes, they called it new bike in a can.
i use wd40 all the time now, especially on the tires, havent really seen anything go bad with the plastic yet... what is the reasons you wouldnt want to use wd40?
i use a tooth brush and 3and 1 to clean my truck. with damp clean rag
I've found that pledge wood cleaner works amazing. Smells like lemon and keeps dirt from sticking.
The SC1 does the same thing, keeps dirt from sticking. Use it all the time on my dirt bikes, great stuff!!
What is tire sauce? And how does it Benefit the trucks performance?
It doesn't, it just makes the tires delicious.
SC1 is the only thing I use, it's made for cleaning plastic.
lol I used to use that cleaner on my dirt bikes and it does smell like a portapotty. But simple green smell isn't much better lol
Can you soak it in the wd40. Will it be the same results
I hit my 5th scale with the compressor, then spray it down with simple green and hit it with the hose, then the air compressor. done lol probly shouldn't use the hose but 5th scale gets really dirty. alot of guys don't really even clean there cars, I can't work on a dirty car
Cut the paint brash bristles down rap the metal with tape it will work better and won't scratch!
OMG i have the same blue plaint brush to clean my stuff
Very nice vid, sir. I have to say the first 35 seconds send me in to a trance. Unfortunately I am truly insane now due to my brain going in to screen saver mode. Thumbs up regardless. . ;-)
Is there any 1/5 scale gas powered engine rc buggy racing in California
In southern California there is.. where are you located?
is $159cad a lot for a velineon moter with esc? and $95 for a 5000 mah lipo?
+Ben Varley That is retail MAP pricing. If you have an old Traxxas brushed motor and ESC you can send it in to Traxxas, or your local Traxxas authorized dealer and do what they call their Power-Up Program. nice video, dude !
awesome enjoyed your tip great job thanks..
Good info, thanks for passing it on.
can we use diesel for lubrication?

Were do you go to race?
WD-40 and other petroleum based lubricants are actually bad for plastics. you may want to try a 100% pure silicone spray instead. works as good or better and won't affect any plastics
+Charles “CJ” Heitz SC1 is silicone based.
Excellent! Just don't use WD-40 LOL.
how many kv have your motor in the mugen buggy?
eco
+Markus zd 1900kv tekin
Idk about wd40, 1 attract a lot of dirt, 2 the bearing would’nt like wd40 on them but better yet I could be wrong 😑
I've moved from Simple Green to Spray Nine. Less odor and good price, amazon.
Ugh
You and me both bud
cool vid great tips!
i remove the electronics.... and spray the whole car with WD-40 and air compress the whole thing....looks brand new and everything is lubed.....
yea and with that oil all over your car its just gonna attract and hold on to dirt like crazy
You left alot of stuff out. one car had the electronics in and the other didnt. one had no shocks. are you taking all these out. do you get in to the diffs. very lacking
I said "clean". I did not say "rebuild"
Cant use silicone spray
Two things in this video I like RC cars and painting🤙 and that's called a China bristle brush
What is simple green?
+RC-BJs It's a biodegradable degreaser/cleaner available in the states. (not sure where you're at). It's very cool stuff. Many uses and is non toxic.
+hallis1 Ok thanks for your response I'm from Denmark and I think I never came across this product here but I have maybe a similar product
"Biltema degrees bio"
environment friendly
but now I know what it is.
tusind tak on danish;-);-)
nice video amigo!!!
Great vid! That's way better than what I do? I just take mine in the shower with me!
DayRider76 lol that is hilarious
Ya know what I was going through today I was thinking I could come back with a little bit more is a little bit of fun but I don’t want turit eiis err tie was my best time for ya ya know what you mean want you back then yeah yeah that’s why you don’t have any more was a good day I don’t think I can hang out with the girls and we are on a little bit
New comer just trying to learn what to do about cleaning t/u.
why dont you clean it with water?
Not waterproof and the bearings go bad
Kaleb Moore it's fine if you used distilled water.
Awesome video for a noob like me
Thanks man
Who are the tasman's
Wd40 on plastic? I didn't think that was good for the plastic....
I hit my rc with 120 psi air compressor. 🤣 not much lasts after that.
it works????? i think to buy somethink like that
thanks!
damn dude, you look just like john caparulo.
It’s a horse hair brush
Wd40 weakens the plastic
Dangerous RC productions and it eats up the oils when people use it as lubricant
just use LA's totally awesome dude
wtf this just spun me out clicking on a random rc cleaning vid and its Nerdly..
