    I have 3 mtn bikes with 60, 90, and a 100 mm rise bars. At 65 it takes all the pressure off my hands and shoulders and the front wheel lighter for uphill tech climbs over rocks and roots. If you have back pain, it can help with that too. I shortened my stems to 35mm as well.

    Great information. I'm 6' 4 . I just got the 2022 specialized specialized rockhopper XXL 3 months ago . The handle bars are too straight for me. 38MM will help me out.

    That bar & stem pair look really impressive on that SC bike. I just got a Burgtec 32t for my HT Chameleon and wanted to see someone using the bars. I REALLY like the stem. Their stuff reminds me of the Renthals but angrier LOL!
    I have a Renthal Apex on my carbon Stumpy because I needed one w/a little degree of rise. After seeing this I might wish I had a Burgtec instead.
    Hey I use 38mil rise Deity Blacklabels on my Stumpy. I just ordered those for my Chameleon too. Why do SO MANY riders give us sh*t about wanting riser bars?? The puZZLed looks on many riders' faces start at about 30mm, as if anything over THAT is for a dirtjumper. No way, with a little more rise it helps me ride w/my back straight, my shoulders get less fatigued, and if you position them just right (as you've demonstrated here) you can get just as much control for throwing around the bike too. The 38mil rise feels awesome riding downhill over rocks on my XL size Stumpy.
    Thanks for this vid. It's like a tip-off as to another brand of great components we don't get to see in too many bike shops.

      I’m completely obsessed with Burgtec, their stuff is high quality and really adds that finishing touch to a bike. I might of actually just ordered a few more parts from them for this bike 🤫 haha I get what you’re saying, a lot of people categorize bike parts to fit with a certain style of bike and think it’s sacrilegious to put high rise bars on a trail bike but they don’t take into account that not everyone has the same riding style and wants the same old thing out of their bike. I love that my bike is more like a DJ, bc I want to ride it like a 27.5 DJ bike. There are other reasons to get high rise bars but for me that is what I wanted and it’s totally fine to do whatever you want to your bike! I saw a trend toward higher rise bars in the style of riding I love so that is why I gave them a try. If you follow Burgtec on Instagram you will see loads of super talented riders that use their products. If I’m buying a stem, pedals, grips, bars, etc. I’m running Burgtec. ✊ Thanks for the comment, I love to hear peoples opinions on this stuff! Thanks for watching!

      @@NickandKatieMTB Yes, more and more we're seeing risers on HT and FS bikes. Everyone that rides my HT's and Stumpy all say they can't believe how comfortable--and yet never even comment on lack of control or capability. If anything they feel it benefits the ride too. Look at how many DH riders use them!
      Hey I see a couple of Stumpys in the background. One of those an EVO? NICE bikes huh!

      @@jsv438 I agree! It’s been all upsides and nearly no downsides with these bars, other than maybe a slightly worse positioning for climbing but I’ll take it! And yup Katie and I both have long travel Stumpjumpers! No EVOs though! They have been great to us! 🤙

    Nick, I went with the 30mm Renthal on my 22 SC 5010. They are perfect for how playful that bike wants to be. I may have to pick up a pair of those axles. Not a huge fan of the quick releases.

    • @NickandKatieMTB
      @NickandKatieMTB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice my dude! My size large 5010 came with the Burgtec 30mm rise bars, what bars came stock on yours? And yes man, I absolutely love these thru axels. Can’t wait til the rockshox boost ones come back in stock so I can replace the quick release on the front. The quick releases are dorky looking in my opinion. 😂 No offense to anyone who likes them, I just want the bike to look as clean as possible. 😎

    Nick, those are some sweet bars, I just put a similar set on my Trek Stache 9 29 Plus, wider & more rise means more comfort & control as you said. New sub here from Delaware County, I found your channel through your comment on Trail Sage’s channel, I’m digging your channel & trying to catch up on your vids. Also the bars look great on your bike, I’m loving mine too, stay safe!

    I have the SC Bronson V2 in Josh Bryceland pink. I have been thinking of getting the Toxic Barbie stem, which is a really close match as well as these bars. Currently running 20mm rise carbon bars. How did you find raising the bars affected the bikes handling? I am looking to make the Bronson more fun to jump, pop and manual etc, while still able to pin a line down enduro tracks.

    • @NickandKatieMTB
      @NickandKatieMTB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rad bike dude! I love the toxic Barbie color as well. Was considering that as the ascent color for this bike but might go with the burgtec mk3 stem in silver 🤔 If that’s what you’re looking to get out of your bike I’d say higher rise all day! Before I put these bars on, getting the bike to manual took quite an effort. I haven’t gotten much time to see how they handle riding downhill but having your weight farther back most likely will help. As long as I can keep enough weight over the front wheel when corning which I suspect will be no problem. Icy conditions have kept me from giving them the full test, but so far they work better for everything but climbing haha thanks for the comment homie! 🤘

    👍great video, been looking at changing my stock 25mm risers, but won't it push your weight back more on the rear?

    • @NickandKatieMTB
      @NickandKatieMTB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Yes, it would move your weight back toward the rear. I felt like I was too far forward on this bike so the high rise bars helped move me back a bit. It's all preference though, and there are advantages/disadvantages to different positioning, just depends on what you want out of the bike. Hope that helps! Thanks for the comment and thank you for watching! 🤙

      @@stevebennett3587 It comes down to would you rather be a little more upright and back toward the rear or have that weight more on the front wheel? You could always mess around with your stem spacers as well. We have a video on that too. 👇

    Is there a handlebar stem that will rise the handlebars an inch?

    • @NickandKatieMTB
      @NickandKatieMTB  ปีที่แล้ว

      You might be able to find something like that but they will most likely be longer as well and they might not be as much as an inch rise. That’s a pretty significant rise for a stem. Definitely not as common, especially on modern mountain bikes. Hope this helps! And thanks for watching!

    Nice.
    I'm new to mountain biking and have been putting together a short list of riser bars that I'd like to try.
    (Rookie mistake by going with just the suggested frame size, rather than geometry)
    I wouldn't mind looking into these ones.
    By the way, what was that wicked track you used during the test ride?
    It has vocal samples on top, vs the link in the description.
