Bro. You have to put in 150+$ to get that type of build. But I can give you the F2P BUILD. Without spending money. 82k on defense. And the mods I use for him. And the weapons. Def increase to 410% defense. Which increase to 112k defense
you can do this free with time. this was 100+ hours of playtime.

Im so glad the shields are actually tanky in later levels, so many games add shields that just pop when you need them to work the most. Wish i could run more transcendent modules too for a tanky support build on him but it is what it is
Shields are crap in this game. They don't scale well in the later game and high HP+DEF is way better.

Void explosion works nicely with a tank support setup as well, you can proc your passive much faster at a consistent rate to throw out your bubble for tasty team damage
Yeah im hitting about 430K in the void explosion but this tank build doesnt have enough reduction. And the other transcendant card would be better for that type of style. Thats going to be my fun ajax build :)

Something I noticed today, the dead bride frenzy, when she does her laser gun attack(like a frost “laser beam”), it actually goes straight through Ajax’s bubble! The one thing I’ve found for sure will still do damage through the bubble!
Lighting strikes and lazers are also not your friend

Do you know if skill power actually affects the shields HP? since it will say “Casters HP 50%” for its HP stat.
I am 95% sure your skillpower goes into the shields even though its not stated. There are boss abilities that I cannot personally tank to the face, but I have yet to see a boss that can get through my shields. They only go down when their CD ends.

You can actually use resource collector and the exotic weapon called secret garden for void energy income which is what you should do. I also recommend using range mods to at least get 200 percent
secret garden makes abilities cost 20% more until you craft 5 of them and you have only a 23.4% baseline chance to regain 10% of your mp. will the range mods make cube larger radius or only affect the two aoe's?

what is resource collector?
@@Zantler think he means the mod called mp collector. chance to regain 12.5% mp on kill with a 4% chance. honestly you will get more mileage out of hp collector if you wish to use one of them.

love the content, im a free to play player and saw this ajax and really wanna build it but i want to get ultimate ajax first and use him as the tank build and then norm ajax for whatever else, i can almost craft like 6 crystalization catas that will be ready for him
you can do this build on normal ajax, as it does not use the ultimate unique mods.

Ajax is the best descendant. I love to tank, I am just sad this game doesn't have aggro.
One of the most important stat on Ajax imo you didn't add to your built is RANGE. Range makes your barrier much better to use, especially against bosses as it prevent them to shoot above the barricade, and you can fit more people under a bigger bubble.
There are a few ways to play, and I prefer to play more technical. By not adding the shield expansion, my shield has a smaller hit box, and therefore can tank the more direct damage instead of soaking up hits that wouldn't have hit in the first place. this also frees up more module slots for other bonuses. Yes you can make the bubble bigger, but it still has the same HP pool, so it will go down faster. I did this in the beta, and it was memey but still really fun.
Just got a def support memory with 4683 def. Passives come with 3532 def and 2165 electric resistance. Thing is a beauty. My def is 70k so far without the red mod. I cant wait

Can you tell me which set of the passive moduls you have or are aiming for? Looks like there are several good choices
I look for mods with HP and drop rate buffs, but i would stock up on resistances as well if you find yourself dying too fast to the AOE. Set bonuses for the hard mode boss external component drops are really geared towards specific characters. I like the ones that increase the general ammo since my main damage is from the thundercage.

YES i will be doing a bunny guide soon, right now i have to grind up again as ajax has taken all my resources so far. I think i am going to go for a boss killing DBZ style build focusing on her ultimate.

What a time to be alive...
For the free to play crowd... you will not be able to get that amount of power in a timely manner by playing free. All these content creators are throwing hundreds of dollars at the game to come up with builds and videos. To change the mods polarity of Ajax for example to fit all those mods you will need ~150 dollars. Energy Activators are extremely hard to build and cost around 25 dollars each. Crystallization Catalysts cost 300 Caliber each, thats 5 dollars each (you need 5-8 depending on Descendant). And all of that is ONLY for your descendant, not including investment costs into your weapons.
This content creator has around 8000 premium curency on her account, so its safe to say she had a lot more to begin with. 5000 curency costs around 100 dollars, so she invested AT LEAST 200 dollars to begin with.
Im not dissing or anything, I just want the free to play crowd to curb their expectations for the achievable power fantasy in this game.

Game provides I believe at least 2 Energy Activators by doing the story. I think it was the side quests that provide Crystallization Catalysts or maybe from main story as well, can’t remember.
I’ve beaten the story and some side quests and that’s how I got them. Currently crafting another Catalyst just by playing.
go look up moxsys builds he almost exclusively uses blue mods, bunny and a tamer (purple lmg) and is already through every boss of in game
also none of the mods are hard to get and you can farm around 300-700k upgrade materials for mods and hour so this build should be decently easy to make ofc the sockets take a bit of time but other than that you'll be on a similar level
When I add skill power it doesn’t seem to reflect on my character stats does it still buff the reflect power or is that unaffected?
Yes more skill power will up the reflect power. sometimes especially in Albeon your stats don't update, so i would recommend going to the practice area or out in the fields if you are swapping builds around. For instance in Albeon i have 750 shield. but in the field it goes up to 7-12k depending on my components.
Question since you are using the body mod. transcendent mod do you know if it benefits from the increased shields mod as well?
i was thinking about testing it, but honestly i have felt that the shields in this game are particularly useless. even with a 15k shield at one point, it was still getting chewed through, so i personally wouldn't waste my resources on buffing it. At least with my experience. I thought about using the "turn my HP to 1 and use the shield" mod in conjunction with the firearm attack module, but that will be part of my later fun build testing, since its not going to be suitable for tanking.
@@aravavt gotcha yea Ive seen one build that uses the overwhelming HP mod with Body transcendent mod and another mod to basically have a super shield but doesnt matter if it just gets melted. Cool thank you for letting me know so I can save resources.
arva i have a question how you can choos a tech skill AND a dimension skill i dont have the dimensio master but i try the specialist and focus on dimension and the game say i cant becouse i have the tech equipped ....
edit: is that because you are using an ulti ajax?
when you look at the modules they have text at the bottom like BATTLE and ATK. you cannot use more than 2 cards that have the same text here at the same time. so you'll have to find cards that increase the skills and attributes you need in different card types.

Ensure you're using the correct damage types for the boss (crush, pierce and burst) and the proper attribute (Toxin, Fire, Electric, Chill) then Make sure you upgrade your damage mods as high as you can for your mastery level. Also make sure that your descendant has some good survivability. can't do damage if you're on the floor.
I am still working on the weapon damage and working on the ThunderCage now. Its a rough gun based on the distance you have to fight most of the bosses with, so i Dont see anyone really using it for intercepts but full tanks that like to sit under bosses. Its FANTASTIC for farming missions and speed running other content though.
What happens if you modify the slot for the body mod? Since upgrading the mod decreases the cost so would putting a special slot on that one would it decrease further 🤔
i wont be upgrading the slot because 1. it has a low cost already and 2. the other skill cards are different module types and i dont want to lock myself in to this one.
Why Iron Defense over Spear and Shield any explaination for that?

Can I ask how long it took you to get the Ajax transcendent cards? I've been trying to get them for other descendants, running the same missions over and over but to no avail.
i got the one i am using within 10 runs. in your external components you can add module drop modifiers which seems to do well for me. I get a transcendent card every 3 runs or so.
also keep your yellow tier cards and don't melt them for kaiper. turn in 4 has a high chance to get you a random transcendent. seen a streamer get blood and iron for his gley despite not having done that boss yet.
are you still running the same mods from the ajax build?

honestly my components are a bit of a mess, but if you find you are taking too much damage you can add the resistance on the components or swap the tech/dimension cards for resistance cards. it depends on you really how much stuff you want to be able to stand in

this build focuses on HP buffed reactors to add to the transcendent module. So youll want some combat MP regin, and HP

Apparently when you get to hard mode a menu opens up that let's you filter those things and locate their drops more precisely 👍
hard mode bosses drop cool external component sets, and i get about 3-5 to drop per run usually.
How do you get Body Enhancement? I have been doing the Devourer over and over on Hard difficulty and I haven't gotten any transcendent except for ones for Kyle over and over again. Am I missing something???

Hey Arava, how many crystalizations can you use on a character?
as many slots as you have. I recommend, however, leaving atleast 1 slot unmodded because if you use the wrong socket type it will cost you DOUBLE, so you wont be able to modify your build at all.
I’m new to using Ajax I did notice 2 mods I got Hp amplification and shield conversion (DEF) but I lose shield with them. My question is should I add them to the build or not?
you can try testing them out, shields are kind of not worth it, but i feel like you would be getting diminishing returns by converting your shield back to HP. you are probably better off just adding a straight defense or resistance

Tech and Dimension for the reactor, HP for the components. I'm greedy and go for drop chance modifiers mostly haha.

Bro my regular defense for ajax is 82k. And 3k shield and 3.5 health. But when I use his mods and his weapon mods. It increase to 410% defense which it got him 110k defense. I can definitely give you the build for thay

Does power even buff the shields? The stats dont change at all with higher power.
power buffs the reflection damage, and while not stated i also believe it buffs their durability as they can tank way more than I can, and the tool tip says they use less than my total stats, so something has to make up the difference. ill be doing some fine tuning to slim it down after I get his damage up

I have a genuine question, in the skill tooltip on both the barrier and bubble it mentions nothing about the ability strength scaling with skill power. Only his jump and explosion do. The bubble and barrier scale proportionally off his def and hp. I like how you see stim accelerant however, I’m a big big fan of hp amp. Also, in terms of tanking, it’s much more beneficial for Ajax to take the skill amp mod that increases the sheer size of his abilities. I personally have a bubble that can cover essentially the Roman coliseum and it’s great. I would’ve gone for spear and shield instead of that defense mod, but that’s my preference. In terms of dmg build or aoe clear, the expulsions charges module for him is very nice but not great for tanking. Overall, I like the build, ❤ please clarify whether or not the skill power mods actually do anything for you.

sorry for the late reply! If you read the tooltips they say that the shields are based on a % of your HP and Defense (less than or equal to your own %), HOWEVER if I were to personally take the same attacks to the face that the shields take, i would be dead on the floor. So I am very certain that your skill modifiers affect the strength of the shields, but they are not implicitly stated in the ability tooltip. As far as the expansion modifiers, I prefer to keep my shield and walls small so that they take concentrated damage only. if the wall is too big, it takes extra damage from shots that were not going to hit me anyway, so its a waste of tanking IMO. Hope this helps!

Hard Mode Devourer, but if you look at the Access Info tab on your map set of menus it tells you where to find everything in the game

What reactor and external components are you using? Those are pretty essential for builds and weren't shown😅

No changes! This build is still going strong and clearing the molten fortress with ease
I will be doing a damage ajax build later for fun, but I would like to help out some of the other basic descendants get their feet off the ground as well. Ajax is the best starter (biased) but every descendant can be fun in their own ways

i am releasing a thundercage video (hopefully today, if not today tomorrow) and i will go over components in that video to explain what i use and why. this build just stacked HP modules and had 1 module for combat MP regin.

How did you have 6620 shield i have Body Enhancment and ultimate ajax but only 400 to 500 shield at lv 39
Max health on the components adds a whole bunch of health which will in turn increase your shield

This is a build that is based on you spending HUNDREDS of dollars to get here. Otherwise, you won't get anywhere close for a long while.
Actually just $100… ult starts with 4 slots upgraded, 2 from story and 2 from the pack itself is all she has, then she spent the time to level and farm kaiper… so yeah don’t know where you’re pulling “hundreds from”

you can do every slot, but i recommend leaving 1 or 2 free for resistance cards when you fight bosses. if you have the wrong slot type the cards cost DOUBLE

Its important to note that most of the skill power/ power modifier mods shes using do not help ajax at all. Or at least more testing is required. It doesnt seem to raise the skill power on the skill descriptions.
the tool tips dont say that they add power to it, however, if the shields according to the tooltip have less than my own HP and shield, how is it that they can take more damage? skills have to be a factor in the math somewhere, i just don't think its stated.
While yes, this is a build specifically for "Ultimate Ajax", not jut that it is an "ultimate" Ajax Build Guide, it would be nice if there was an easier way for content creators to title these....
On the main note, one should note that these guides will generally work for both the Normal and Ultimate versions of a character. Unless they need one of the two Exclusive Transcendence Mods.
If one does not know, the Ultimate version of a character is not a skin, but their own character that you can raise to 40 to get Rank Mastery exp.
The Ultimate character has higher base stats and access to 2 exclusive Transcendence Mods, beyond the 4 available to both the Normal and Ultimate Versions of the character.
For Ajax, his Ultimate Exclusive Transcendence Mods are:
- Life Barrier
- Void Barrier
Given that Arava, here, isn't using either of those currently, that means this build of hers can work on both versions of Ajax.
yes but you would need to prestige an extra two times over the 4 she did here as well. that's a lot of leveling.
Hello! Im proud to see a vtuber mother figure that actually plays the most based character instead of a bun bun, but anyways i had a question, ive been trying to get body enhancement but no luck yet, it states however that it negates void energy regen thru event horizon… it does not say it gets rid of it completely, can you check if it gives you void energy from potent collector?
if you look at 2:26 when i am using my abilities you'll notice that there is no longer a yellow bar. the void energy is gone entirely and you only rely on MP. you get no additional bonuses for void energy. the entire event horizon ability is gone, and is instead replaced with the base stat increases.
just wanna ask. where did you farm the body enhancement . thanks

Hummmm I think I’ll chill here for a bit.
My question with this and people pumping defense, is where does the defense stat falloff. Ive heard crazy numbers all the way up to 250k defense. And in some tool tips it says abilities can only max you out at 80% DR but it only says for abilities specifically so how does that stack up with your defense stat if it lines up over 80%.
This is a good question. I'll have to do some testing and see if I can get a clear number.

@kdnewcastle3773 I watched another vid. Doesn't necessarily falloff as much as each of the DR milestones become harder to achieve. Sitting around 40k is probably best for your average character.

Does this Ajax do enough dmg to down endgame bosses solo?
I've done the hard mode executioner solo, however i only got the hard mode devourer down to 3% because the Thundercage has to reload too much. x.x I am working on it though!
