My girls live in the same area you seem to come from, they're in E4, Highams Park, however, I'm up here in the North East of England, must be , at least, 4 years since a friend I used to work with started selling (exclusively) e-bikes , his business is in Tynemouth station & it's brilliant. Apart from him, many of my friends ride e-bikes now...seems the south iscway behind!

The handlebars are much better on the bikes in England.
I wouldn't store them near anything flammable. Fires from the batteries are not normal fires. Look up Thermo Runaway.❤
Should be able to get a nice 750 to 1000 watt hub motor for your old bike on Lazada. They come with kit controller and wires, just add battery.

congrats on your E bikes. If you do get an electric car, don't get a new one. get one that is one to two years old those usually have all the bugs fixed. The main problem you will have is charging stations on the island. Although modern electric cars get a range of 300 miles or over 482 kilometers so you maybe able to get by with just a charging station at your home. What ever the listed range is, expect it to be a little less and never charge it to 100. Charge to about 80 to 90% makes cells last longer. You can also consider a hybrid electric car. My favorite car is the electric car that has solar panels built into the roof of the car (you don't notice them) The car can charge it self while parked in the sun. Really like that car. Very cold temps can also effect your range. Off the grid is absolutely the future especially with climate change getting worse every year.
We are researching. Of course it has to be charge at home to take advantage of free solar power we have. Also there will probably never be a charge station in Siargao 😅

I'm an electric vehicle user. For me, it's better to have a smaller EV (like 2 wheels) than an e-Car because of maintenance and repair costs is huge, also there are still a few EV repairmen.

I've heard about Stellantis (owns Chrysler, Dodge) making a compressed air engine. I haven't really dig into much info but this is probably much better solution than mining lithium still require dirty energy. The problem with electric is once you start hauling a trailer in a electric truck mileage goes down drastically. I still think hydrogen or Compressed air technology might be a better investment for the future.
You can bring that ebike to siargao and make it a business as ebike for rent..

the concept of an e-bike isnt new for transportation. as a matter of fact, e-bikes are seriously being considered as a “tool” for elite military units due to its renewable energy if used in conjunction with a solar panel. the e-bile being researched right now is called surron, or the surron brand e-bike which is the benchmark or basic platform for an outdoor, with full front and rear suspension e-bike. surron e-bikes are now available in the Philippines.

Batteries, they do not make electricity - they store electricity produced elsewhere, primarily by coal, uranium, natural gas-powered plants, or diesel-fueled generators. So, to say an EV is a zero-emission vehicle is not at all valid.
Also, since forty percent of the electricity generated in the U.S. is from coal-fired plants, it follows that forty percent of the EVs on the road are coal-powered,
But that is not half of it. For those of you excited about electric cars and a green revolution, I want you to take a closer look at batteries and also windmills and solar panels.
A typical EV battery weighs one thousand pounds, about the size of a travel trunk. It contains twenty-five pounds of lithium, sixty pounds of nickel, 44 pounds of manganese, 30 pounds cobalt, 200 pounds of copper, and 400 pounds of aluminum, steel, and plastic. Inside are over 6,000 individual lithium-ion cells.
To manufacture each EV auto battery, you must process 25,000 pounds of brine for the lithium, 30,000 pounds of ore for the cobalt, 5,000 pounds of ore for the nickel, and 25,000 pounds of ore for copper. All told, you dig up 500,000 pounds of the earth's crust for one battery."
The main problem with solar arrays is the chemicals needed to process silicate into the silicon used in the panels. To make pure enough silicon requires processing it with hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrogen fluoride, trichloroethane, and acetone. In addition, they also need gallium, arsenide, copper-indium-gallium- diselenide, and cadmium-telluride, which also are highly toxic. Silicon dust is a hazard to the workers, and the panels cannot be recycled.
Windmills are the ultimate in embedded costs and environmental destruction. Each weighs 1688 tons (the equivalent of 23 houses) and contains 1300 tons of concrete, 295 tons of steel, 48 tons of iron, 24 tons of fiberglass, and the hard to extract rare earths neodymium, praseodymium, and dysprosium. Each blade weighs 81,000 pounds and will last 15 to 20 years, at which time it must be replaced. We cannot recycle used blades.
There may be a place for these technologies, but you must look beyond the myth of zero emissions.
"Going Green" may sound like the Utopian ideal but when you look at the hidden and embedded costs realistically with an open mind, you can see that Going Green is more destructive to the Earth's environment than meets the eye, for sure.
I'm not opposed to mining ,electric vehicles, wind or solar. But showing the reality of the situation.

You did not mention battery life before it needs changing or cost per charge surely a simple well geared mechanical bike is more eco friendly rather than an electric moped. We don't all have the luxury of a roof festooned with solar panels.

That’s very nice to use electric bike, it’s affordable to use, it’s fun, and gives you energy because it’s an exercise to use bicycle, I rode bike myself and it’s keeps me going and it’s good for your heart,muscles so very very nice.
